Quick response codes are machine readable optical label which was first created in the automated industry of Japan. Quick response codes are capable enough to store vital information in it by converting into various black and white patterns. QR codes have many applications especially in the field of message sharing and document authentication. We must lay our emphasis on the security and privacy of the QR code as there are chances of it getting into wrong hands. In this paper we have proposed a technique known as 2 level QR code which consists of two layers of security provided to the QR code. The first level is known as public level and the second level is known as private level. We will be using Reed Solomon algorithm. Our 2 level design is capable enough to supply ample security and privacy as way as personal message sharing and document authentication are involved. During this paper we've got studied numerous state of the art existing techniques of planning QR code at the side of their comparison with the our projected two level QR code technique. In this paper we've got studied numerous state of the art existing techniques of coming up with QR code in conjunction with their comparison with the our planned two level QR code technique

Important paper-based documents Exposed to forgery such as: official certificates, birth, marriage, death certificates, selling and buying documents and other legal documents is more and more serious and sophisticated. With the purposes of fraud, appropriation of property, job application and assignment in order to swindle public authorities, this forgery has led to material loss, belief deterioration as well as social instability. There are many techniques has been proposed to overcome this issues such as: ink stamps, live signatures, documented the transaction in third party like the court or notary. In this paper, it’s proposed a feasible solution for forgery prevention for paper-based documents using cloud computing application. With the application of Quick Response bidirectional barcode and the usage of hash algorithm. The study aims at developing an electronic verification system for official and issued books (documents, endorsements, and other official books) to/from different sections of the Institute using QR technology

Protecting the Visual Fidelity of Machine Learning Datasets Using QR Codes

Machine learning is becoming increasingly popular in a variety of modern technology. However, research has demonstrated that machine learning models are vulnerable to adversarial examples in their inputs. Potential attacks include poisoning datasets by perturbing input samples to mislead a machine learning model into producing undesirable results. Such perturbations are often subtle and imperceptible from a human\u27s perspective. This paper investigates two methods of verifying the visual fidelity of image based datasets by detecting perturbations made to the data using QR codes. In the first method, a verification string is stored for each image in a dataset. These verification strings can be used to determine whether an image in the dataset has been perturbed. In the second method, only a single verification string stored and is used to verify whether an entire dataset is intact

Based on the Indonesia national police crime database, it is reported that vehicle theft cases have increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. The database reported an increasing trend of vehicle theft, 4,065 cases from January 2019 to January 2020 in the province and regency region. Therefore, to help police officers work and minimize the criminal cases of vehicle theft, an effective strategy is needed to reduce these threats. This study proposes implementing SMS and QRcode technology embedded in the vehicle for validation information. Cloud computing capabilities can offer real-time network access to technology resources that can be physically located anywhere geographically based on business needs. This technology can rapidly search and show detailed information regarding the specific vehicle, including the vehicle owner, the vehicle registration number, and the validation of the driver's license. To implement and examine the effectiveness of the proposed technology, this study was conducted an experimental study in a real-world setting from January 2021 until April 2021 in Makassar city, Indonesia. This study concluded that the proposed technology could successfully be implemented and effectively show detailed information regarding the specific vehicle based on the experimental results. This study concluded the potential use of the proposed technology in the real world as an alternative solution to minimize the criminal cases of vehicle theft. It can be used as an alternative solution to reduce the increase in criminal cases of inter-island private vehicle theft syndicates

Supplementary data associated with this article can be found in the online version at doi:10.1016/j.snb.2022.133001.QRsens represents a family of Quick Response (QR) sensing codes for in-situ air analysis with a customized smartphone application to simultaneously read the QR code and the colorimetric sensors. Five colorimetric sensors (temperature, relative humidity (RH), and three gas sensors (CO2, NH3 and H2S)) were designed with the aim of proposing two end-use applications for ambient analysis, i.e., enclosed spaces monitoring, and smart packaging. Both QR code and colorimetric sensing inks were deposited by standard screen printing on white paper. To ensure minimal ambient light dependence of QRsens during the real-time analysis, the smartphone application was programmed for an effective colour correction procedure based on black and white references for three standard illumination temperatures (3000, 4000 and 5000 K). Depending on the type of sensor being analysed, this integration achieved a reduction of ~71 – 87% of QRsens’s dependence on the light temperature. After the illumination colour correction, colorimetric gas sensors exhibited a detection range of 0.7–4.1%, 0.7–7.5 ppm, and 0.13–0.7 ppm for CO2, NH3 and H2S, respectively. In summary, the study presents an affordable built-in multi-sensing platform in the form of QRsens for in-situ monitoring with potential in different types of ambient air analysis applications.Spanish MCIN/AEI/10.13039/ 501100011033/ (Projects PID2019–103938RB-I00, ECQ2018–004937- P and grant IJC2020–043307-I)Junta de Andalucía (Projects B- FQM-243-UGR18, P18-RT-2961)European Regional Development Funds (ERDF)European Union NextGenerationEU/PRT

Abstract(#br)QR code is an important means for delivering information which has been widely used in our daily life. As an ISO international standard, the QR code encoding and decoding process are disclosed publicly, thus it is easy to decode a QR code then forge a new QR code with the same QR code public message. It can lead to the problems of information forgery and ease the spreading of fake news. To overcome this weakness, we propose a simple and efficient QR code authentication mechanism to embed the authentication information in the padding region of QR code based on the characteristics of Sudoku and Reed-Solomon code. Different from the previous scheme, the proposed scheme embeds the authentication information without consuming the QR code error correction capacity and is able to..

Two-Level QR Code for Private Message Sharing and Document Authentication

International audienceThe quick response (QR) code was designed for storage information and high-speed reading applications. In this paper, we present a new rich QR code that has two storage levels and can be used for document authentication. This new rich QR code, named two-level QR code, has public and private storage levels. The public level is the same as the standard QR code storage level; therefore, it is readable by any classical QR code application. The private level is constructed by replacing the black modules by specific textured patterns. It consists of information encoded using q-ary code with an error correction capacity. This allows us not only to increase the storage capacity of the QR code, but also to distinguish the original document from a copy. This authentication is due to the sensitivity of the used patterns to the print-and-scan (P&S) process. The pattern recognition method that we use to read the second-level information can be used both in a private message sharing and in an authentication scenario. It is based on maximizing the correlation values between P&S degraded patterns and reference patterns. The storage capacity can be significantly improved by increasing the code alphabet q or by increasing the textured pattern size. The experimental results show a perfect restoration of private information. It also highlights the possibility of using this new rich QR code for document authentication
