    Toha Key Hardened Function

    Get PDF
TOHA is Key Hardened Function designed in the general spirit of sequential memory- hard function which based on secure cryptographic hash function, the idea behind its design is to make it harder for an attacker to perform some generic attacks and to make it costly as well, TOHA can be used for deriving keys from a master password or generating keys with length of 256-bit to be used in other algorithm schemes, general approach is to use a password and a salt like a normal scheme plus other parameters, and you can think of the salt as an index into a large set of keys derived from the same password, and of course you don’t need to hide the salt to operate

Cryptographic Scheme for analyzing protected files on Sandboxes and share them privately

Sharing a documents with a business partner is not always easy. since the sender often need to send sensitive information. and he want to ensure the integrity and the secrecy of the document. And in the same time. he wants to insure that only the specific individual or the recipients are the only one who can view it. So people tend to use some encryption software. or protecting the document with some sort of password. and then share the password with the recipient to make sure he is the only one who can view the document. But Unfortunately in many situations this method will not work. for a particular reason. and that is once the sender send an email. the email will start his journey into the company\u27s network. and it will pass through many appliances. such Firewalls, Exchange servers and most likely Sandboxes. And there is one feature in sandboxes that we are interested in. once the sandbox sees an encrypted file or a protected file. it will immediately stop the email and quarantine it. because the sandbox couldn’t scan it. or couldn’t ensure if it’s malicious or not. so it will stop it for further analysis or a manual analysis depending on the procedures there. And such an action could stop a valid business transaction. and it could cause some business interruption. In this paper we will introduce a scheme for allowing the share of protected files. and analyzing them through Sandboxes. and in the same time no one can view it except for the authorized people

Genetic Algorithm for Solving the Integrated Production-Distribution-Direct Transportation Planning

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a model of integrated production, distribution and transportation planning for 4-echelon supply chain system that consists of a manufacturer using a continuous production process, a distribution center, distributors and retailers. By means of time-dependent demand at all retailers and direct transportation from one echelon to its successive echelons, the purpose of this paper is to determine production/replenishment and transportation policies at manufacturer, distribution center, distributors and retailers in order to minimize annually total system cost. Due to the proposed model is classified as a mixed integer non-linear programming so it is almost impossible to solve the model using the exact optimization methods and a lot of time is needed when the enumeration methods is applied to solve only a small scale problem. In this paper, we apply the genetic algorithm for solving the model. Using integer encoding for constructing the chromosome, the best solution is going to be searched. Compared with enumeration method, the difference of the result is only 0.0594% with the consumption time is only 0.5609% time that enumeration methods need

The films of Asrul Sani from 1966 to 1983: a new art for a new mankind

Why an Indonesian poet and short story writer like Asrul Sani became a film writer and director, and how his work expressed himself and his society in changing times, were the first questions stimulating this research. He claimed that art could be an "engineer of the soul" in a modernising society. Educated in both the Dutch and nationalist Taman Siswa sytems, he travelled overseas to study Western drama and film, and to perform the haj. He wrote extensively on cultural issues and became a cultural bureaucrat. Though his output is diverse, there are some continuous strands in his thinking and methods. His film work invites analysis for its weaving of Muslim and Western strands into the Indonesianising of a technological art form, and as proof of the sincerity of cultural manifestos he declared at times of political strain. Research by others into Indonesian film has explored the history of government policies, narrative style and conventions of genre and characterisation. Examining four films as examples of four different genres, in the context of Sani's other work, allows discovery of the complex creativity of an exemplar who desired "a new art for a new mankind". Choosing a set period permits discovery of the context from which films can be interpreted. Some Third World film theories and postcolonial literary theory are used to test these discoveries. Sani's work examines the leadership role of intellectuals, artists and religious scholars and the place of the masses. It expresses Islamic doctrine and convictions and translates them into patterns of moral code and legitimisation of the socio-political environment. Sani seeks too to encourage dynamism and spiritual rearmament. Sometimes his images are complex and his techniques can be read at several levels. His personal vision often dims, his commitment to film as poetry and as "a thorny conscience" falters, but some sense of hope remains

Advanced hydrogels based on natural macromolecules: chemical routes to achieve mechanical versatility

    Get PDF
Advances in synthetic routes to chemically modify natural macromolecules such as polysaccharides and proteins have allowed designing functional hydrogels able to tackle current challenges in the biomedical field. Hydrogels are hydrophilic three-dimensional systems able to absorb or retain a large volume of water, prepared from a low percentage of precursor macromolecules. The typical fragile elastic structure of common hydrogel formulations often limits their usage. Three main fabrication strategies involving several compounds or multimodified materials known as double networks, dual-crosslinked networks, and interpenetrating networks have been explored to impart mechanical strength to hydrogels. Widely investigated for synthetic polymers, these approaches allow obtaining added-value hydrogels with a large spectrum of mechanical properties. Advances in the development of such hydrogels with biomacromolecules as main constituent materials have enabled the fabrication of hydrogels with improved key properties for medical use, including biocompatibility, controlled release of active substances and tailored biodegradability, while exploring sustainable sources. This review describes recent advances in the use of proteins, as well as natural and semi-synthetic polymers for the fabrication of hydrogels for biomedical applications. Structures processed via double network, dual-crosslinked, or interpenetrating network strategies are reviewed, and emphasis is given to the type of chemical modifications and reactions, as well as the covalent and non-covalent interactions/bonds involved in those mechanisms.publishe

The experiences of the International Institute of Islamic Civilization & Malay World (ISTAC)in empowering the Malay World and Islamic Civilization

Although Indonesia and Malaysia are now two independent nations, both countries have a lot in common, tied by a common religion, language and cultural heritage dating back centuries ago. In building a better tomorrow, both nations can benefit from each other’s rich experiences. This paper will focus on an educational institute established at the International Islamic University (henceforth, IIUM) in 2016 initially named the Centre for Malay World and Islamic Civilization and now has been transformed as the International Institute of Islamic Civilization & Malay World (henceforth, ISTAC). The institute is established to support the efforts of the university in creating an academic and intellectual field of research and studies focusing on the Malay World and Islamic civilization. This study describes the scope, major types of activities and concerns of the institute. In so doing it will identify the potential areas for collaboration (such as academic exchange, research, international conferenc
