Each instant of time a new Universe
We present an alternative view of quantum evolution in which each moment of
time is viewed as a new "universe" and time evolution is given by correlations
between them.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figure
The Mental, the Mind and the Body
I would like to give an account of the mental, the
mind and the body.
To begin, let us consider some of the differences
between objects and activities. An object has spatial
extension and can exist at an instant of time. Objects are
considered to have properties whose spatio-temporal
conjunction is commonly thought to define what the object
is. No temporal extension seems to be necessary for the
object to be what it is. The object can exist at an instant.
Similarly, the object can remain through time what it is,
without changing any of the properties commonly thought
to be internal to it.
In contrast, an activity does not have spatial
extension at an instant, though the object performing the
activity does. Yet the activity necessarily has temporal
extension. There is no activity at an instant. As a
consequent, the continuance of the activity through time
requires continuance in the change that is the activity

Cooling load forecasting-based predictive optimisation for chiller plants
Extensive electric power is required to maintain indoor thermal comfort using heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, of which, water-cooled chiller plants consume more than 50% of the total electric power. To improve energy efficiency, supervisory optimisation control can be adopted. The controlled variables are usually optimised according to instant building cooling load and ambient wet bulb air temperature at regular time intervals. In this way, the energy efficiency of chiller plants has been improved. However, with an inherent assumption that the instant building cooling load and ambient wet bulb temperature remain constant in the coming time interval, the energy efficiency potential has not been fully realised, especially when cooling loads vary suddenly and extremely. To solve this problem, a cooling load forecasting-based predictive optimisation method is proposed. Instead of minimising the instant system power according to the instant building cooling load and ambient wet bulb temperature, the controlled variables are derived to minimise the sum of the instant system power and one-time-step-ahead future system power according to both instant and forecasted future building cooling loads. With this method, the energy efficiency potential of a chiller plant can be further improved without shortening the operation time interval. 80% redundant energy consumption has been reduced for the sample chiller plant; energy can be saved for chiller plants that work for years. The evaluation on the effect of cooling load forecasting accuracy turns out that the more accurate the forecasts are, the more redundant energy consumption can be reduced
CHALLENGES IN COMMUNITY PROMOTION HEALTH :INTERGENERATIONAL INSTANT NOODLE EATING HABIT
Living in a hurry time, nowadays became a life style. In eating, people turn to instant food as a practice choice in preparing meals. In Indonesia, instant noodle is the most popular item in instant food On the other side, eating too much instant food is not a good choice for health, Health
locus of control and health realistic optimism were assume to be the factors that related to instant noodle eating habit. Research have done in 180 subjects in different generations; teenagers (18-20 years old), young adult (21-39 years old) and middle adult (40-60 years old). It found that there was no influence from health locus of control to the instant noodle's eating habit (path coefficient 0.056, p=0.513) and there was no influence from health realistic optimism to the instant noodle's eating
habit (-0.016, p=0.848). Using analysis varian it also found that there was a significant difference in intergenerational instant noodle's eating habit; the young groups tend to eat instant noodle more than the older groups. From this research found that personal factors contributes less than external factors. Instant noodle had the powerful attractiveness to people, especially for young people because of some characteristics such as fast and easy to cook, the full sensatio4 variety of flavors, economist price. For promoting health, this research suggest that internal health locus of control should be the focus of health education because it could lead to the selective eating behavior. Information of healthy food smart and easy cooking skills using fresh food should be given to young people
REAL-TIME INSTANT MESSAGING
An application for realtime instant messaging from a sender to a receiver is disclosed. The application sends the text typed in realtime by the sender to the receiver instead of waiting until the sender actually hits âEnterâ. The advantages of the method include instant communication to create an effect similar to face to face conversation
Time-trend in spatial dependence: Specification strategy in the first-order spatial autoregressive model
The purpose of this article is to analyze if spatial dependence is a synchronic effect in the first-order spatial autoregressive model, SAR(1). Spatial dependence can be not only contemporary but also time-lagged in many socio-economic phenomena. In this paper, we use three Moran-based space-time autocorrelation statistics to evaluate the simultaneity of this spatial effect. A simulation study shed some light upon these issues, demonstrating the capacity of these tests to identify the structure (only instant, only time-lagged or both instant and time-lagged) of spatial dependence in most cases.Space-time dependence; Spatial autoregressive models; Moranâs I
Poincare Invariant Algebra From Instant to Light-Front Quantization
We present the Poincare algebra interpolating between instant and light-front
time quantizations. The angular momentum operators satisfying SU(2) algebra are
constructed in an arbitrary interpolation angle and shown to be identical to
the ordinary angular momentum and Leutwyler-Stern angular momentum in the
instant and light-front quantization limits, respectively. The exchange of the
dynamical role between the transverse angular mometum and the boost operators
is manifest in our newly constructed algebra.Comment: 21 pages, 3 figures, 1 tabl
Preferred instantaneous vacuum for linear scalar fields in cosmological space-times
We discuss the problem of defining a preferred vacuum state at a given time
for a quantized scalar field in Friedmann, Lema\^itre, Robertson Walker (FLRW)
space-time. Among the infinitely many homogeneous, isotropic vacua available in
the theory, we show that there exists at most one for which every Fourier mode
makes vanishing contribution to the adiabatically renormalized energy-momentum
tensor at any given instant. For massive fields such a state exists in the most
commonly used backgrounds in cosmology, and provides a natural candidate for
the ground state at that instant of time. The extension to the massless and the
conformally coupled case are also discussed.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figures. Section VI was expanded to include a discussion
on semi-classical gravity. Version to appear in PR
