    Research on United Account Payment Platform Technology for Smart Transportation

    In order to integrate the account information of many enterprises in the transportation industry group, this paper proposes a solution of united account payment platform, provides multi-channel and united payment services. The program studies united account payment management technology. It realizes the integration of account information of many corporate groups, which provides united fund account information management. Through the establishment of a united account management center, the system interactively processes the account contents of all group businesses, and completes centralized management, behavior analysis, and united authentication of enterprises and individuals. It also provides single sign-on and account association for each application module and function scenario of the enterprise. Through the establishment of a united payment management center, this paper realizes united management of multiple payment methods and united management of payment channels provided by access payment institutions. By managing the payment center routing rules, the system controls the categorization of downstream payment channels. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the technology are verified through the implementation of the united account payment management system

    ERP implementation for an administrative agency as a corporative frontend and an e-commerce smartphone app

    This document contains all the descriptions, arguments and demonstrations of the researches, analysis, reasoning, designs and tasks performed to achieve the requirement to technologically evolve an managing agency in a way that, through a solution that requires a reduced investment, makes possible to arrange a business management tool with e-commerce and also a mobile application that allows access and consultation of mentioned tool. The first part of the document describes the scenario in order to contextualize the project and introduces ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning). In the second part, a deep research of ERP market products is carried out, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each one of the products in order to finish with the choice of the most suitable product for the scenario proposed in the project. A third part of the document describes the installation process of the selected product carried out based on the use of Dockers, as well as the configurations and customizations that they make on the selected ERP. A description of the installation and configuration of additional modules is also made, necessary to achieve the agreed scope of the project. In a fourth part of the thesis, the process of creating an iOS and Android App that connects to the selected ERP database is described. The process begins with the design of the App. Once designed, it is explained the process of study and documentation of technologies to choose the technology stack that allows making an application robust and contemporary without use of licensing. After choosing the technologies to use there are explained the dependencies and needs to install runtime enviornments prior to the start of coding. Later, it describes how the code of the App has been raised and developed. The compilation and verification mechanisms are indicated in continuation. And finally, it is showed the result of the development of the App once distributed. Finally, a chapter for the conclusions analyzes the difficulties encountered during the project and the achievements, analyzing what has been learned during the development of this project

    An Open Management and Administration Platform for IEEE 802.11 Networks

    The deployment of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) has greatly increased in past years. Due to the large deployment of the WLAN, the immediate need of management platforms has been recognized, which has a significant impact on the performance of a WLAN. Although there are various vendor-specific and proprietary solutions available in the market to cope with the management of wireless LAN, they have problems in interoperability and compatibility. To address this issues, IETF has come up with the interoperability standard of management of WLANs devices, Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) protocol, which is still in the draft phase. Commercial implementation of this draft protocol from WLAN equipment vendors is rather expensive. Open source community, therefore, tried to provide free management solutions. An open source project called openCAPWAP was initiated. However, it lacks a graphic user interface that makes it hard to implement for novice network administrators or regular customers. Therefore, the researcher designed and developed a web interface framework that encapsulates openCAPWAP at the bottom to provide user-friendly management experience. This application platform was designed to work with any remote web server in the public domain through which it can connect to access points or access controllers through a secure shell to configure them. This open platform is purely open source-based. It is operating system independent: it can be implemented on any open source environment such as regular Linux operating system or embedded operation system small form factor single board computers. The platform was designed and tested in a laboratory environment and a remote system. This development contributes to network administration in both network planning and operational management of the WLAN networks

    Orchestration and Lifecycle Management over Virtualized Network Functions

    A crescente evolução da nova geração de redes móveis aproxima a comercialização de redes de quinta geração da realidade. Os operadores móveis já dizem possuir dispositivos preparados para o 5G e já demonstram protótipos de serviços criados e sustentados para estas redes. Na realidade, as Redes de Acesso Radio (Radio Access Network - RAN) planeadas para o 5G já estão desenvolvidas e testadas, existindo já algumas redes de acesso radio com novas antenas preparadas para 5G em várias partes do mundo. Porém, as redes 5G vão mais além que a evolução das RAN, sendo a principal novidade desta geração de redes móvel a virtualização das redes centrais, incluindo nestas serviços e funções de rede. A Virtualização de Funções de Rede (Network Function Virtualization - NFV) está a ser normalizada pela European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). Esta tecnologia está a ser usada pela 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) para normalizar as redes 5G, nomeadamente a virtualização das suas redes centrais. A virtualização não só irá permitir o surgimento de novos serviços e funções de rede como também permitirá virtualizar serviços e funções de rede antigas. A virtualização não só irá melhorar significativamente as redes móveis, como também será mais fácil a gestão e a orquestração destas. Em Portugal, o consórcio 5GO, que envolve várias empresas com uma vasta experiência de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento (Research & Development - R&D) na área de Telecomunicações, desenvolve o projeto Mobilizador 5G. Esta iniciativa portuguesa visa desenvolver soluções inovadoras para a rede 5G. Esta dissertação aborda inicialmente uma análise às tecnologias que permitem as redes 5G. De seguida foca-se nas plataformas de gestão e orquestração de redes existentes e por fim, nas operações de gestão de ciclo de vida (Lifecycle Management - LCM) que estas plataformas poderão realizar nas funções de redes. O objetivo final será testar e analisar essas operações em funções de rede através de uma das plataformas existentes.The growing evolution of the new mobile generation networks brings the commercialization of 5th generation networks closer to reality. Mobile operators already claim to have 5G-ready devices and already demonstrate prototypes of services created and sustained for these networks. In fact, the Radio Access Network (RAN) planned for 5G are already developed and tested, and there are already some radio access networks with new 5G-ready antennas in diverse parts of the world. However, 5G networks go beyond the evolution of RANs, with the main novelty of this mobile network generation being the virtualisation of central networks, including in these services and network functions. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is being standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). This technology is being used by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to standardise 5G networks, particularly the virtualisation of core networks. Virtualization will not only allow the development of new network services and functions, it will also allow the virtualization of legacy network services and functions. Virtualization will not only significantly improve mobile networks, but also make it easier to manage and orchestrate them. In Portugal, the 5GO consortium, which involves several companies with a vast experience in Research & Development (R&D) in the area of Telecommunications, develops the project Mobilizador 5G. This Portuguese initiative aims to develop innovative solutions for the 5G network. This dissertation initially addresses an analysis of the technologies that enable 5G networks. It then focuses on the existing network management and orchestration platforms and, finally, on the Lifecycle Management (LCM) operations that these platforms can perform in network functions. The final objective will be to test and analyse these operations in network functions through one of the existing platforms

    Advanced concept of voice communication server on embedded platform

    The paper deals with a design of an embedded Voice communication server which was developed within the scope of the BESIP project (Bright Embedded Solution for IP Telephony). The project brings a modular architecture with additional functionality such as a speech quality monitoring and a protection against security threats.The speech quality assessment is carried out in a simplified computational E-model and we implemented our proposal into the BESIP as an optional component. In the security module. We applied a standard approach to the intrusion detection and protection and in addition to the mentioned modules we come up with an idea of unified configuration based on the NETCONF protocol. We implemented ntegrated the complex support of NETCONF configuration protoco into OpenWRT and our modifications were accepted by OpenWRT community.     Live-Migration in Cloud Computing Environment

    O tráfego global de IP aumentou cinco vezes nos últimos cinco anos, e prevê-se que crescerá três vezes nos próximos cinco. Já para o período de 2013 a 2018, anteviu-se que o total do tráfego de IP iria aumentar a sua taxa composta de crescimento anual (CAGR) em, aproximadamente, 3.9 vezes. Assim, os Prestadores de Serviços estão a sofrer com este acréscimo exponencial, que é proveniente do número abismal de dispositivos e utilizadores que estão ligados à Internet, bem como das suas exigências por vários recursos e serviços de rede (como por exemplo, distribuição de conteúdo multimédia, segurança, mobilidade, etc.). Mais especificamente, estes estão com dificuldades em: introduzir novos serviços geradores de receitas; e otimizar e adaptar as suas infraestruturas mais caras, centros de processamento de dados, e redes empresariais e de longa distância (COMpuTIN, 2015). Estas redes continuam a ter sérios problemas (no que toca a agilidade, gestão, mobilidade e no tempo despendido para se adaptarem), que não foram corrigidos até ao momento. Portanto, foram propostos novos modelos de Virtualização de Funções da Rede (NFV) e tecnologias de Redes de Software Definidos (SDN) para solucionar gastos operacionais e de capital não otimizado, e limitações das redes (Lopez, 2014, Hakiri and Berthou, 2015). Para se ultrapassar tais adversidades, o Instituto Europeu de Normas de Telecomunicações (ETSI) e outras organizações propuseram novas arquiteturas de rede. De acordo com o ETSI, a NFV é uma técnica emergente e poderosa, com grande aplicabilidade, e com o objetivo de transformar a maneira como os operadores desenham as redes. Isto é alcançado pela evolução da tecnologia padrão de virtualização TI, de forma a consolidar vários tipos de equipamentos de redes como: servidores de grande volume, routers, switches e armazenamento (Xilouris et al., 2014). Nesta dissertação, foram usadas as soluções mais atuais de SDN e NFV, de forma a produzir um caso de uso que possa solucionar o crescimento do tráfego de rede e a excedência da sua capacidade máxima. Para o desenvolvimento e avalização da solução, foi instalada a plataforma de computação na nuvem OpenStack, de modo a implementar, gerir e testar um caso de uso de Live Migration.Global IP traffic has increased fivefold over the past five years, and will continue increasing threefold over the next five years. The overall IP traffic will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) nearly 3.9-fold from 2013 to 2018. Service Providers are experiencing the exponential growth of IP traffic that comes from the incredible increased number of devices and users who are connected to the internet along with their demands for various resources and network services like multimedia content distribution, security, mobility and else. Therefore, Service Providers are finding difficult to introduce new revenue generating services, optimize and adapt their expensive infrastructures, data centers, wide-area networks and enterprise networks (COMpuTIN, 2015). The networks continue to have serious known problems, such as, agility, manageability, mobility and time-to-application that have not been successfully addressed so far. Thus, novel Network Function Virtualization (NFV) models and Software-defined Networking (SDN) technologies have been proposed to solve the non-optimal capital and operational expenditures and network’s limitations (Lopez, 2014, Hakiri and Berthou, 2015). In order to solve these issues, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and other standard organizations are proposing new network architecture approaches. According to ETSI, The Network Functions Virtualization is a powerful emerging technique with widespread applicability, aiming to transform the way that network operators design networks by evolving standard IT virtualization technology to consolidate many network equipment types: high volume servers, routers, switches and storage (Xilouris et al., 2014). In this thesis, the current Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solutions were used in order to make a use case that can address the increasing of network traffic and exceeding its maximum capacity.     AGNI: an API for the control of automomous service robots

    With the continuum growth of Internet connected devices, the scalability of the protocols used for communication between them is facing a new set of challenges. In robotics these communications protocols are an essential element, and must be able to accomplish with the desired communication. In a context of a multi-­‐‑agent platform, the main types of Internet communication protocols used in robotics, mission planning and task allocation problems will be revised. It will be defined how to represent a message and how to cope with their transport between devices in a distributed environment, reviewing all the layers of the messaging process. A review of the ROS platform is also presented with the intent of integrating the already existing communication protocols with the ServRobot, a mobile autonomous robot, and the DVA, a distributed autonomous surveillance system. This is done with the objective of assigning missions to ServRobot in a security context
