Design and Implementation of Service-Oriented Expert System
In recent years, the Internet technologies are well developed and the Internet is filled with all kinds of information. Since the data storage is increasingly distributed and data formats are more diverged, data collection and integration for providing value- added services have gradually become important topics. In this study, we propose the Service-Oriented Expert System (SOES) based on Service Component Architecture (SCA) which can make the services on different platforms turn into a common service component on the Internet, concatenate all the service components by combining with the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and use both expert rules and data mining techniques to perform the data classification. The SOES is applied to analyze the annual financial information derived from electronic industry in the Taiwan Economic Journal (TEJ) during 2006 to 2008 for discovering the financial crisis enterprises. The experiment results show that using expert rules and decision tree to find the financial crisis enterprise is higher performance
A Bus Tracking Information System using Consumer Grade GPS: A Case Study
A real-time tracking of public bus movement may help passengers plan their travel and reduce stress due to uncertainty. Several bus tracking information systems have been proposed, but costly to implement and also take longer time to setup. In this paper, a bus tracking information system using standard mobile Internet connection and consumer grade GPS is proposed, called UBAIS (University Bus Arrival Information System). The system will continuously update the estimated arrival time based on the actual location of the buses in the route leading to the next bus stop. With graphical information provided to the passenger via a mobile phone, passengers will be able to view the actual location of the buses in the route. A prototype for Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia’s bus service has been implemented – consisting of buses equipped with Android devices that will continuously send current GPS locations of the buses to a centralized server and read by clients (fixed or mobile) with various update intervals. Several testing has been performed on the current prototype and it demonstrates good accuracy and increased satisfaction among passenger
Mobile Payment for “PO Tentrem” Bus Rates Based on E-Wallet
According to the results of a 2022 survey conducted by the Association of Indonesian Internet Service Providers (APJII), internet users in Indonesia continued to increase from 175 million to 220 million users of the total population of Indonesia. The increase was driven by the need for communication during the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two years. Most internet users are on the island of Java, followed by the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa, and Maluku-Papua. PT. Tentrem Sejahtera is one of the Inter-City In-Province bus companies based on the island of Java, precisely in East Java. The ordering and payment process is still done manually or offline. Consumers who want to buy tickets must come directly to the terminal, to an authorized agent who has been appointed or do it directly when boarding the bus and make transactions in cash. Where when making manual or cash payments sometimes you have to wait a few minutes to issue money and wait for the ticket given by the conductor, while the level of security in payments is very less, so it is less efficient in this sophisticated era. In addition, there are still unscrupulous brokers at several bus departures who sell tickets that do not match the specified price. This study used the e-wallet electronic payment model method, with a mobile payment system for QRIS-based bus fares. With the National Mercant ID (NMID) listed on the QRIS display, a receipt will be issued on the Thermal Print for proof of payment

Mitigating Network Service Disruptions in High-bandwidth, Intermittently Connected, and Peer-to-Peer Networks
Users demand high-bandwidth, ubiquitous and low-cost network services. This demand has pushed ISPs and application providers to offer more bandwidth, allow users to access the Internet almost everywhere, and provide cheap or free network services using peer-to-peer networks. These three trends underlie the growing success of today's Internet. However, (1) high-bandwidth can empower more effective denial-of-service attacks; (2) Internet access is widespread, but still not ubiquitous; and (3) peer-to-peer network services need to solve the service discovery problem. This thesis addresses these three challenges. First, we tackle denial-of-service attacks. The high bandwidth available in many parts of the Internet allows denial-of-service attacks to be effective, and the large scale of the Internet makes detecting and preventing these attacks difficult. Anonymity and openness of the Internet worsens this problem because anyone can send anything to anybody. To prevent these denial-of-service attacks, we propose Permission-Based-Sending (PBS), a signaling architecture for network traffic authorization. PBS uses the explicit permission to give legitimate users the authority to send packets. Signaling is used to configure this permission in the data path. This signaling approach enables easy installation for granting authorization to flows, and allows PBS to be deployed in existing networks. In addition, a monitoring mechanism provides a second line of defense against attacks. Next, we strive to make Internet access more ubiquitous. When public transportation stations have access points to provide Internet access to passengers, public transportation becomes a more attractive travel and commute option. However, the Internet connectivity is intermittent because passengers can access the Internet only when a bus or train is within the networking coverage of an AP at a stop. To efficiently handle this intermittent network for the public transit system, we develop Internet Cache on Wheels (ICOW), a system that provides a low-cost way for bus and train operators to offer access to Internet content. Each bus and train car is equipped with a smart cache that serves popular content to passengers. The cache updates its content based on passenger requests when it is within range of Internet access points placed at bus stops, train stations or depots. This aggregated Internet access is significantly more efficient than having passengers contact Internet access points individually and ensures continuous availability of content throughout the journey. Finally, we consider peer-to-peer services. Typical service discovery mechanisms in peer-to-peer networks cause significant overhead, consuming energy and bandwidth: (1) in highly mobile networks, service discovery consumes the energy of mobile devices to discover services that newly joined members provide; and (2) peer-to-peer network systems consumes bandwidth during service discovery. To resolve and analyze these service discovery problems, (1) we design an efficient service discovery mechanism that reduces energy consumption of mobile devices; and (2) we evaluate the bandwidth consumption caused by service discovery in real-world peer-to-peer networks
People accessibility to public services by public transport in Trebnje community. Size and equipment:66 p., 23 cha., 3 tab., 36 fig.
This diploma represents problems, analyses and findings in the area of public accessibility by the public transportation means to the service activities at local level in Trebnje community. We did three different analyses. The first analysis was done for the time of working days, the second was carried out for the time of school lessons and the third was a combination of the first and the second. With the help of GIS environment program the thesis consists of daily bus frequencies through individual bus stops in the community, population density in the area of bus stops and accumulation flows of the majority of potential passengers on the way to the centre of the community. In detail we presented network analyses of service regions in the road network. We also presented the results of an anonymous survey about the accessibility of people to the supply activities with the means of public transportation and the usage of Internet. We came to the conclusion that there are not enough daily lines to the centre of the community and that lines are not properly distributed. Due to the mentioned facts, only 11% of all users use the public transportation means every day. Because of faster and improved Internet connections the usage of Internet has increased. Besides that, two thirds of the interviewed people regularly use the Internet to access public services
An Integrated UUM Web-Based Electronic Ticketing Service for Express Bus Service Provider
Conventional bus ticketing transactions without IT supported are not cost-effective nowadays. With the evolution and emergence of Internet technology, there comes a new way of ticketing transaction - electronic ticketing. Internet provides this type of ticketing services available online 24-hour, day and night and anywhere as long as the ticket is still available. UUM is seen to have the ability to occupy this electronic ticketing service to its students. An integrated UUM web based electronic ticketing (UUMET) system was developed to support this idea. The UUMET system is specially designed to UUM student to enable them to make express bus ticket purchase without having to travel to the ticket counter. This project focused only to the development of a prototype for the UUMET system that support the electronic ticket buying transaction to the student of UUM. UUMET system comprises of a database that is built using MySQL database application software Apache server as the web server, and PHP as its application server. The methodology used is object -oriented system development using the Unified Modeling Language - the Unified Approach. The development of the UUMET prototype system applied all phases of the system development life cycle model namely analysis, design, prototyping and testing of the prototype system. The UUMET prototype system is tested using the scenario-based testing applying the concept of black-box strategy in a non-real life environmental
Delay Tolerant Networking over the Metropolitan Public Transportation
We discuss MDTN: a delay tolerant application platform built on top of the Public Transportation System (PTS) and able to provide service access while exploiting opportunistic connectivity. Our solution adopts a carrier-based approach where buses act as data collectors for user requests requiring Internet access. Simulations based on real maps and PTS routes with state-of-the-art routing protocols demonstrate that MDTN represents a viable solution for elastic nonreal-time service delivery. Nevertheless, performance indexes of the considered routing policies show that there is no golden rule for optimal performance and a tailored routing strategy is required for each specific case
Evaluating a Flow-Based Programming Approach as an Alternative for Developing CEP Applications in IoT
One of the main advantages brought by the Internet of Things (IoT) is the possibility of having large amounts of data from several sources that allow us, once analyzed, to make decisions in various domains in real time. This implies the need to be able to process large volumes of data in more or less limited processing times depending on the application domain. In this sense, complex event processing (CEP), used in conjunction with an enterprise service bus (ESB), has proven to be very efficient in multiple domains. In search for greater efficiency, some CEP engines offer the option of using flow-based programming (FBP) rather than their traditional programming using CEP together with an event bus. However, its use, while it may be more efficient, can lead to other limitations. In this article, we analyze and describe the performance and limitations of using a CEP engine with an ESB versus a CEP engine with FBP. This will allow developers to decide which option is more convenient for their IoT system depending on the application domain and its specific needs
