Annotated bibliography of software engineering laboratory literature

    Get PDF
An annotated bibliography of technical papers, documents, and memorandums produced by or related to the Software Engineering Laboratory is given. More than 100 publications are summarized. These publications cover many areas of software engineering and range from research reports to software documentation. This document has been updated and reorganized substantially since the original version (SEL-82-006, November 1982). All materials have been grouped into eight general subject areas for easy reference: the Software Engineering Laboratory; the Software Engineering Laboratory-software development documents; software tools; software models; software measurement; technology evaluations; Ada technology; and data collection. Subject and author indexes further classify these documents by specific topic and individual author

    PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES À LA CARTE

Code reuse in computer language development is an open research problem. Feature-oriented programming is a vision of computer programming in which features can be implemented separately, and then combined to build a variety of software products; the idea of combining feature orientation and language development is relatively recent. Many frameworks for modular language development have been proposed during the years, but, although there is a strong connection between modularity and feature-orientation development, only few of these frameworks provide primitives to combine these two concepts. This work presents a model of modular language development that is directed towards feature orientation. We describe its implementation in the Neverlang framework. The model has been evaluated through several experiences: among the others, we present a code generator for a state machine language, that we use as a means to compare to other state-of-the-art frameworks, and a JavaScript interpreter implementation that further illustrates the capabilities of our solution

The main theme of this edition of the annual Research and Technology Report is Mission Operations and Data Systems. Shifting from centralized to distributed mission operations, and from human interactive operations to highly automated operations is reported. The following aspects are addressed: Mission planning and operations; TDRSS, Positioning Systems, and orbit determination; hardware and software associated with Ground System and Networks; data processing and analysis; and World Wide Web. Flight projects are described along with the achievements in space sciences and earth sciences. Spacecraft subsystems, cryogenic developments, and new tools and capabilities are also discussed

Third International Symposium on Space Mission Operations and Ground Data Systems, part 2

    Get PDF
Under the theme of 'Opportunities in Ground Data Systems for High Efficiency Operations of Space Missions,' the SpaceOps '94 symposium included presentations of more than 150 technical papers spanning five topic areas: Mission Management, Operations, Data Management, System Development, and Systems Engineering. The symposium papers focus on improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of data acquisition, ground systems, and mission operations. New technology, methods, and human systems are discussed. Accomplishments are also reported in the application of information systems to improve data retrieval, reporting, and archiving; the management of human factors; the use of telescience and teleoperations; and the design and implementation of logistics support for mission operations. This volume covers expert systems, systems development tools and approaches, and systems engineering issues

    Get PDF
The organization of the Software Engineering Laboratory (SEL) database is presented. Included are definitions and detailed descriptions of the database tables and views, the SEL data, and system support data. The mapping from the SEL and system support data to the base table is described. In addition, techniques for accessing the database through the Database Access Manager for the SEL (DAMSEL) system and via the ORACLE structured query language (SQL) are discussed
