For this reason, theimportance of interaction between digital product and user should be considered.The term .Graphical user interface. is the layer where the digital productcommunicated with human and human communicated with digital product. A well-designed product can fail with an unsuccessful interface. Conversely, a product has not good design values can become successful with its well-designed interface. To get best interaction between digital product and user, the graphical interface design itself has some rudimentary design values like user-friendliness, usability, easy to learn, etc.At an individual level, user interfaces change many people.s lives. Techniques such as direct manipulation, telepresence, and virtual realities may change the ways that we interact with and think about digital products. Works in the paper have demonstrated how stereo vision contributes to the improvement of the perception of some depth cues, often for abstract tasks, while it is hard to find works addressing stereoscopic visualization in mobile robot teleguide applications. This paper intends to contribute to this aspect by investigating the stereoscopic robot teleguide under different conditions, including typical navigation scenarios and the use of synthetic and real images. This paper also investigates how user performance may vary when employing different display technologies. Results from a set of test trials run on seven virtual reality systems, from laptop to large panorama and from head-mounted display to Cave automatic virtual environment (CAVE), emphasized few aspects that represent a base for further investigations as well as a guide when designing specific systems for telepresence.Peer reviewe

    北九州市立大学博士(工学)The purpose of this thesis is to explore how AI technologies intervene in the architectural design process and to discuss the importance and approaches that drive the paradigm shift towards human-AI collaboration in architectural design. The research is conducted from two perspectives: theoretical and practical. At the theoretical level, how AI technologies affect architectural design through technological evolution is analyzed, as well as the advantages, disadvantages and trends of different AI networks in sustainably analyzing and optimizing different kinds of architectural designs. Further, based on this, the methodology of how to develop a reflection on the nature of technology and data is discussed. At the practical level, AI methods that are inventive and capable of performance-based design are constructed and trained. And the basic process of human-AI collaborative architectural design is presented with an empirical study. The results of this thesis not only provide a theoretical reference and methodological basis for future research on human-AI collaborative architectural design at a broader and higher level but also attempt to explore new ideas and methods for the field of architectural design during the evolution of the old and new paradigms, ultimately realizing the purpose of sustainable development of the B&C industry.doctoral thesi

    Visual Debugging of Object-Oriented Systems with the Unified Modeling Language

    The Department of Defense (DoD) is developing a Joint Battlespace Infosphere, linking a large number of data sources and user applications. Debugging and analysis tools are required to aid in this process. Debugging of large object-oriented systems is a difficult cognitive process that requires understanding of both the overall and detailed behavior of the application. In addition, many such applications linked through a distributed system add to this complexity. Standard debuggers do not utilize visualization techniques, focusing mainly on information extracted directly from the source code. To overcome this deficiency, this research designs and implements a methodology that enables developers to analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate object-oriented systems using visualization techniques. It uses the standard UML class diagram coupled with visualization features such as focus+context, animation, graph layout, color encoding and filtering techniques to organize and present information in a manner that facilitates greater program and system comprehension. Multiple levels of abstraction, from low-level details such as source code and variable information to high-level structural detail in the form of a UML class diagram are accessible along with views of the program s control flow. The methods applied provide a considerable improvement (up to 1110%) in the number of classes that can be displayed in a set display area while still preserving user context and the semantics of UML, thus maintaining system understanding. Usability tests validated the application in terms of three criteria software visualization, debugging, and general system usability
