Possibility of Intercultural Collaborative Learning between International Students and Local Residents at Buddhist temples: Based on Narrative Stories of Local Residents

本稿では、ベトナム人技能実習生等の外国人の急増する福岡県田川地区の地域仏教寺院を調査地として、当寺院で実践された留学生と地域住民との国際共修が多文化共生社会の実現に向けてどのような意義があるかについて考察している。結果、国際共修の実践を通して地域仏教寺院の有する社会関係資本により多様な人的関係性が構築されたが、それだけでなく日本語学習を継続している多国籍の留学生の存在によって、国際共修の現場で多文化間の協働という関係性が維持されたことにも意義があった。多文化を意識してデザインされた国際共修によって、日本人と外国人という二項対立的な関係性がうまく崩れ、外国人に対する地域住民の意識変容が生じ得たと考えられる。departmental bulletin pape

Remote Islands Development Plan as an Administrative Plan

本稿では、行政学分野における行政計画をめぐる論点を概観したうえで、近年の「計画策定」論議において離島振興計画がどのように位置づけられていたかを整理した。そのうえで、2023年から10年間を計画期間とする各都道県の離島振興計画を相互に比較し検討した。この結果、離島振興計画は、指定地域―市町村類型によって計画の構成やボリュームに差異があること、各計画の数値目標は極めて抑制的なものであること、全体として抽象的かつ総花的になりやすいことなどを指摘した。departmental bulletin pape

Incident and disaster response exercises for Vietnamese firefighters: Situation and solutions

北九州市立大学博士(工学)This study examines challenges in executing rescue plans for Vietnamese firefighters and devises emergency exercises to bolster their rescue prowess. It starts by synthesizing ideas on emergency exercise design and outlines the theoretical and legal foundation of firefighting exercises in Vietnam. The research assesses the current status of emergency exercises for firefighters across 16 provinces, analyzing facilitating and inhibiting factors in training implementation. It delves into evaluation methods for training outcomes, illustrated through a functional exercise at the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting (UFPF), focusing on a landslide scenario. The study also introduces a method for efficiently selecting training scenarios using the Analytic Hierarchy Process, quantifying relationships between rescuers' actions and capabilities in different disaster scenarios. Finally, it summarizes findings and provides recommendations for further development, emphasizing the enhancement of firefighters' rescue capabilities.doctoral thesi

Designing Science Communication for Utilizing Emerging Technologies: Information Provision Formats and Citizens’ Attributes

A comparative study of placemaking methods for regenerating abandoned schools between Taiwan and Japan

北九州市立大学博士(学術)With the rapid development of globalization, industrialization, urbanization, and informatization, numerous economic activities are aggregated in cities, resulting in uneven resource distribution between urban and rural areas. While the falling fertility rate has caused many schools to be non-operational, the school delivers neither the fundamental architectural space value nor contributes any interaction with their neighbors. This research conducts 15 school architecture analyses on their regenerative programs to evaluate the relationship between space order, territory differentiation, user behavior reaction, and user perception of the built environment. Thus, the research analyzes the results of 15 schools’ regenerative progress to clarify the relationship between space use and user perception of reusing the school through placemaking design methods between Taiwan and Japan. Also, the research output is to establish an evaluation process to assist the participant in accomplishing a regeneration space design value and improve civic engagement in a local community.doctoral thesi

A study on design method of expressing phenomenal architecture by Steven Holl

北九州市立大学博士(工学)本研究は建築家スティーヴン・ホールの設計論に関するものである。ホールは設計哲学の中で建築と音楽は没入型の体験であり、建築での空間体験と音楽を体験することは没入型の体験として同じ性質があると示している。描写や言説表現を「記譜法」と呼ぶなど音楽からの影響が示唆され、音楽の制作におけるプロセスとホールの建築設計におけるプロセスは関連した対応関係があると仮定し、設計論の図式化し設計手法を明らかにした。doctoral thesi
