A New Similarity Measure of Generalized Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers and Its Application on Rotor Fault Diagnosis

Fault diagnosis technology plays a vital role in the variety of critical engineering applications. Fuzzy approach is widely employed to cope with decision-making problems because it is in the simplest and most used form. This paper proposed a new similarity measure of generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers used for fault diagnosis. The presented similarity measure combines concepts of the geometric distance, the center of gravity point, the perimeter, and the area of the generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers for calculating the degree of similarity between generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. This method is proposed to deal with both standardized and nonstandardized generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Some properties of the proposed similarity measure have been proved, and 12 sets of generalized fuzzy numbers have been used to compare the calculation results of the proposed similarity measures with the existing similarity measures. Comparison results indicate that the proposed similarity measure can overcome the drawbacks of existing similarity measures. Finally, a fault diagnosis experiment is carried out in laboratory based on multifunctional flexible rotor experiment bench. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed similarity measure is more effective than other methods in terms of rotor fault diagnosis

The Neutrosophic set (NS) has grasped concentration by its ability for handling indeterminate, uncertain, incomplete, and inconsistent information encountered in daily life. Recently, there have been various extensions of the NS, such as single valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs), Interval neutrosophic sets (INSs), bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs), Refined Neutrosophic Sets (RNSs), and triangular fuzzy number neutrosophic set (TFNNs). This paper contains an extended overview of the concept of NS as well as several instances and extensions of this model that have been introduced in the last decade, and have had a significant impact in literature. Theoretical and mathematical properties of NS and their counterparts are discussed in this paper as well. Neutrosophic-set-driven decision making algorithms are also overviewed in detail

Determining Basic Probability Assignment Based on the Improved Similarity Measures of Generalized Fuzzy Numbers

Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence has been widely used in many data fusion application systems. However, how to determine basic probability assignment, which is the main and the first step in evidence theory, is still an open issue. In this paper, an improved method to determine the similarity measure between generalized fuzzy numbers is presented. The proposed method can overcome the drawbacks of the existing similarity measures. Then, we propose a new method for obtaining basic probability assignment (BPA) based on the proposed similarity measure method between generalized fuzzy numbers. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed method is illustrated by the classification of Iris data

This is the first volume of the Encyclopedia of Neutrosophic Researchers, edited from materials offered by the authors who responded to the editorā€™s invitation. The authors are listed alphabetically. The introduction contains a short history of neutrosophics, together with links to the main papers and books. Neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics, neutrosophic measure, neutrosophic precalculus, neutrosophic calculus and so on are gaining significant attention in solving many real life problems that involve uncertainty, impreciseness, vagueness, incompleteness, inconsistent, and indeterminacy. In the past years the fields of neutrosophics have been extended and applied in various fields, such as: artificial intelligence, data mining, soft computing, decision making in incomplete / indeterminate / inconsistent information systems, image processing, computational modelling, robotics, medical diagnosis, biomedical engineering, investment problems, economic forecasting, social science, humanistic and practical achievements

In this paper, we shall present some novel Dice similarity measures of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets and the generalized Dice similarity measures of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets and indicate that the Dice similarity measures and asymmetric measures (projection measures) are the special cases of the generalized Dice similarity measures in some parameter values. Then, we propose the generalized Dice similarity measures-based multiple attribute decision making models with hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets. Finally, a practical example concerning the evaluation of the quality of movies is given to illustrate the applicability and advantage of the proposed generalized Dice similarity measure
