    A Bibliometric Diagnosis and Analysis about Smart Cities

    [EN] This article aims to present a bibliometric analysis of Smart Cities. The study analyzes the most important journals during the period between 1991 and 2019. It provides helpful insights into the document types, the distribution of countries/territories, the distribution of institutions, the authors' geographical distribution, the most active authors and their research interests or fields, the relationships between principal authors and more relevant publications, and the most cited articles. This paper also provides important information about the core and historical references and the most cited papers. The analysis used the keywords and thematic noun-phrases in the titles and abstracts of the sample papers to explore the hot research topics in the top journals (e.g., 'Smart Cities', 'Intelligent Cities', 'Sustainable Cities', 'e-Government', 'Digital Transformation', 'Knowledge-Based City', etc.). The main objective is to have a quantitative description of the published literature about Smart Cities; this description will be the basis for the development of a methodology for the diagnosis of the maturity of a Smart City. The results presented here help to define the scientific concept of Smart Cities and to measure the importance that the term has gained through the years. The study has allowed us to know the main indicators of the published literature in depth, from the date of publication of the first articles and the evolution of these indicators to the present day.     he Internet of Things (IoT) as an emerging technology has widely been discussed in the literature in recent years. There are also bibliometric analyses in this regard that illustrate the current status of IoT research. The bibliometric analyses have been used widely by researchers to provide insights into current topics and identify emerging and future research in different fields. As there are challenges or barriers to the use of IoT, it is necessary for researchers to focus on this area. Various studies have discussed IoT challenges/barriers; however, a picture from such research is not accessible in terms of bibliometrics. This research, therefore, conducts a bibliometric analysis on publications that discuss IoT challenges/barriers to identify challenges most discussed in the literature. Results show that challenges/barriers to IoT usually discussed in the literature include security, privacy, trust, standards, architecture, and energy

    IoT in healthcare: A scientometric analysis

    This paper reviews scientific articles and patents about Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare. The aim is to explore both the domain of research and the one of practice simultaneously. We compare the annual growth, the country production, and the trend topics of publications and patents, by focusing on the most relevant themes concerning the IoT in the healthcare industry. The analysis started with the selection of the publications and patents for the period 2015–2020. Since this comparative analysis between scientometric data in healthcare is new, the findings of this study can represent the basis for future studies to determine novel research opportunities on IoT. The study provides scholars with a better understanding of IoT research in healthcare and simultaneously extends knowledge of entrepreneurship in this field. Practitioners may benefit from this review to understand new and underexplored opportunities

    Trends of Business Model Research: A Bibliometric Analysis

    Purpose: The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the evolution of the business model researchwhile identifying the leading trends and suggesting future research directions.   Design/Methodology/Approach:The study consists of bibliometricanalysis, and bibliographic data visualization using the Web of Science (WoS) database, and clusteranalysis using the VOSViewer software.     Findings:The results reveal the exponential growth of the topic favored within the academic literature. The analysis identified eight clusters of co-words in thefield of the businessmodel (BM). Five relevant research trendswere identified in which the topic of the business model (BM) would developin the next years.   Research limitations:The analysis focuses on the field of management, business, finance, and economics literature. The paper describes the research activity concerninga bibliometric analysis. Therefore it does not take into consideration the quality of the publications and methodological issues.   Practical Implications:This study may serve as a model providing useful information for academic and practitioners to analyzethe topic of the business model (BM) within a certain discipline, as well as to identify research areas that need more attention to come up with theoretical and practical implications.   Originality/Value:The analysis structures and consolidates the concept of the business model (BM) in the academic research, providing valuable insights.     En las Redes de Sensores Inalámbricos (WSN), los nodos son vulnerables a los ataques de seguridad porque están instalados en un entorno difícil, con energía y memoria limitadas, baja capacidad de procesamiento y transmisión de difusión media; por lo tanto, identificar las amenazas, los retos y las soluciones de seguridad y privacidad es un tema candente hoy en día. En este artículo se analizan los trabajos de investigación que se han realizado sobre los mecanismos de seguridad para la protección de las WSN frente a amenazas y ataques, así como las tendencias que surgen en otros países junto con futuras líneas de investigación. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, este análisis se muestra a través de la visualización y estudio de trabajos indexados en bases de datos como IEEE, ACM, Scopus y Springer, con un rango de 7 años como ventana de observación, desde 2013 hasta 2019. Se obtuvieron un total de 4.728 publicaciones, con un alto índice de colaboración entre China e India. La investigación planteó desarrollos, como avances en los principios de seguridad y mecanismos de defensa, que han llevado al diseño de contramedidas en la detección de intrusiones. Por último, los resultados muestran el interés de la comunidad científica y empresarial por el uso de la inteligencia artificial y el aprendizaje automático (ML) para optimizar las medidas de rendimiento.In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), nodes are vulnerable to security attacks because they are installed in a harsh environment with limited power and memory, low processing power, and medium broadcast transmission. Therefore, identifying threats, challenges, and solutions of security and privacy is a talking topic today. This article analyzes the research work that has been carried out on the security mechanisms for the protection of WSN against threats and attacks, as well as the trends that emerge in other countries combined with future research lines. From the methodological point of view, this analysis is shown through the visualization and study of works indexed in databases such as IEEE, ACM, Scopus, and Springer, with a range of 7 years as an observation window, from 2013 to 2019. A total of 4,728 publications were obtained, with a high rate of collaboration between China and India. The research raised developments, such as advances in security principles and defense mechanisms, which have led to the design of countermeasures in intrusion detection. Finally, the results show the interest of the scientific and business community in the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) to optimize performance measurements

    Cultivating Service Diversification: A Cross-level Study

    Positive effects of firms’ service diversification on competitive advantages have been documented. However, how to achieve service diversification remains unclear. Although studies point out information technology (IT) can enhance service diversification, the effects of specific ITs need further investigation. This study proposes a conceptual model to study the effects of four specific ITs usage on service diversification from resource-based view. Moreover, we investigate the moderating effect of macro innovation environment. Firm-level data were collected from 690 logistics firms in 23 cities in China. Our results show that all four ITs contribute to service diversification. Macro innovation environment negatively moderates the relationship between emerging technologies and service diversification

    Digital real estate: a review of the technologies and tools transforming the industry and society

However, the process of transferring properties and engaging with various stakeholders can be hindered by a lack of adequate information, complex procedures, and excessive paperwork. The advent of digital real estate has revolutionized the industry and how stakeholders interact. The present study aims to conduct a bibliometric and systematic review of digital real estate, utilizing historical, institutional, country, and keyword analyses for the bibliometric review and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines for the systematic review. Through thematic analysis, the study identified four key themes for transforming digital real estate: information communication technologies, data collection technologies, data networking tools, and digital decision-making systems. Additionally, the study proposes a digital real estate transformation framework that can assist stakeholders, urban planners, and decision-makers in embracing digital tools and technologies. The study concludes that digital real estate has the potential to revolutionize future urban planning and real estate development through the use of decision support systems and advanced technologies.Peer reviewe

    A Bibliometric Analysis in Industry 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing: What about the Sustainable Supply Chain?

    During the last decade, different concepts, methodologies, and technologies have appeared, evolving industry toward what we know today as the fourth industrial evolution or Industry 4.0 (I4.0) and Advanced Manufacturing (AM). Based on both, Supply Chain (SC) is presented as the relevant process that sets the sustainability of manufacturing and, therefore, is defined as a key term in a sustainable approach to I4.0. However, there are no studies that analyze the evolution of science in the fields of I4.0 and AM together. In order to fill this gap, the aim of this research work is to analyze the tendencies of science research related to I4.0 and AM by conducting a bibliometric and network analysis and also to generate a new contribution through the analysis of scientific trends related to SC and Sustainable Supply Chain (SSC) within this scientific context, for the time span 2010–2019. The results show that the number of publications is growing exponentially and the most active countries are Germany and the U.S., with Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen University being the most productive organization and Tecnologico de Monterrey the most collaborative. The analysis of the scientific terms allows us to conclude that the research field is in a growth phase, generating up to almost 4500 new terms in 2019

    Global Growth and Trends of In-Body Communication Research—Insight From Bibliometric Analysis

    A bibliometric analysis was conducted to examine research on in-body communication. This study aimed to assess the research growth in different countries, identify influential authors for potential international collaboration, investigate research challenges, and explore future prospects for in-body communication. A total of 148 articles written in English from journals and conference proceedings were gathered from the Scopus database. These articles cover the period from 2006 until August 2023. VOS Viewer 1.6.19 and Tableau Cloud were used to analyze the data. The analysis reveals that research on in-body communication has shown fluctuations but overall tends to increase. The United States, Finland, and Japan were identified as the leading countries (top three) in terms of publication quantity, while researchers from Norway, Finland, and Morocco received the highest number of citations. The University of Oulu in Finland has emerged as a productive institution in this field. Collaborative research opportunities exist with the countries mentioned above or with authors who have expertise in this topic. The dominant research topic within this field pertains to ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. One of the future challenges in this field is the exploration of optical wireless communication (OWC) as a potential communication medium for in-body devices, such as electronic devices implanted in the human body. This includes improving performance to meet the requirements for in-body communication devices.     Research productivity of Library and Information Science in India during 2010-2019: A Scientometric Study

    The aim of this study is to analyze the Library & Information Science literatures available in the Web of Science database during 2010-2019 by the topic “Research productivity of Library and Information Science in India during 2010-2019: A Scientometric Study”. The required data is retrieved from Web of Science database using advanced Boolean search techniques. Total 778 numbers of literatures are retrieved from the database. The literatures mainly include journal articles, proceeding papers, editorial materials, etc. In the study, analysis of year wise growth rate, productive journals, articles, authors, etc are covered. Along with that three mostly used bibliometric laws, Bradford’s law, Lotka’s Law and Zipf’s law are examined with the help of the dataset. It is found that there is no constant growth rate of the published literature but the average annual growth rate is 12.64%. The study reveals that the most published literature form is article (88.95%) and “Scientometrics” with highest contribution of 98 is the most preferred journal on the subject
