Pauvreté urbaine et exclusion sociale. Les nouvelles figures du travail social auprès des personnes et des communautés locales en difficulté

Le présent texte aborde trois questions: la première a trait à l'insuffisance des différentes analyses de la pauvreté et à sa relecture par l'introduction de la notion d'exclusion sociale. La seconde renvoie à l'émergence d'un double renouvellement des pratiques: le renouvellement de l'intervention psychosociale par une approche de prévention sociale et de promotion de réseaux et le renouvellement de l'intervention communautaire par une approche de développement local. Enfin, nous avançons la proposition suivante : depuis bientôt dix ans, l'émergence de corporations de développement communautaire (CDC) et de corporations de développement économique communautaire (CDEC) illustre ce double renouvellement des pratiques entant que nouveaux dispositifs d'accompagnement dans l'empowerment des personnes et des communautés locales en difficulté.This article deals with three questions: the first one is about the insufficiency of the analysis on poverty as a social problem. The authors introduce the notion of ""exclusion sociale"" to have a more comprehensive way to understand the poverty in our society today. The second one introduces new ways to produce social practices for our times: community economic development and social prevention. Finally, they view the community development corporations and the community economic development corporations as ones of the good places to express new social practice of empowerment for individuals and communities

Il n’est pas évident d’aborder sereinement et avec un certain recul un phénomène d’actualité comme le renouvellement de la population enseignante. Il est un fait indéniable: une partie importante des enseignants en Suisse, encore en exercice au début de cette décennie, aura atteint l’âge légal de la retraite avant 2020. Loop-free Markov chains as determinantal point processes

We show that any loop-free Markov chain on a discrete space can be viewed as a determinantal point process. Stability Analysis of GI/G/c/K Retrial Queue with Constant Retrial Rate

We consider a GI/G/c/K-type retrial queueing system with constant retrial rate. The system consists of a primary queue and an orbit queue. The primary queue has $c$ identical servers and can accommodate the maximal number of $K$ jobs. If a newly arriving job finds the full primary queue, it joins the orbit. The original primary jobs arrive to the system according to a renewal process. The jobs have general i.i.d. service times. A job in front of the orbit queue retries to enter the primary queue after an exponentially distributed time independent of the orbit queue length. Telephone exchange systems, Medium Access Protocols and short TCP transfers are just some applications of the proposed queueing system. For this system we establish minimal sufficient stability conditions. Our model is very general. In addition, to the known particular cases (e.g., M/G/1/1 or M/M/c/c systems), the proposed model covers as particular cases the deterministic service model and the Erlang model with constant retrial rate. The latter particular cases have not been considered in the past. The obtained stability conditions have clear probabilistic interpretation

Catechesis in Europe during the 20th century

During the 20th century, the teaching of the Catechism, and all the other forms of religious education were undergoing very serious changes and transformations. As a result of these transformations, we get the gradual introduction of the Bible as one of the main sources of the pastoral activity of the Church, especially catechesis. The Bible emerged from a period of hibernation into which it had entered for several centuries. In this work, the catechetical endeavours of Germany, of France and of Malta are highlighted. In this respect, we find the Munich method and to a much larger extent the Kerygmatic method, in Germany. In France, the use of the Bible is more linked to individual persons who, each in his or her own way tried to give a more central place to the Bible, thus opening the way to a more biblical catechesis. In Malta, we get Fr Ġorġ PRECA, who through his writings of a catechetical and educational nature gave the Word of God to the Maltese people in the vernacular.peer-reviewe
