This paper analyzes the sensitivity of market crashes to investors'psychology in a standard general equilibrium framwork. Contrary to the traditional view that market crashes are driven by large drops in aggregate endowments, we argue from a theoretical standpoint that individual anticipations of such drops are a necessary condition for crashes to occur, and that the magnitude or such crashes are poritively correlated with the level of individual anticipations of drops

Psychological aspects of information seeking on the Internet

Two studies are presented that investigate information seeking behaviour on the Internet. In Study One, soccer fans’ information seeking on the World Wide Web (WWW) is investigated. In Study Two, access rates to a cancer information website are analysed. It is tentatively argued that there is a tendency for people to access information more commonly avoided in ‘real life’, although in the case of football fans, the tendency to ‘bask in reflected glory’ remains when online, while cutting off reflected failure is minimised. Implications for understanding and researching psychological processes of web browsing behaviour are discussed

This research was conducted with no established set of hypotheses as guidelines. It was done to point out certain attitudes about clothing and inadvertently, how consciously or unconsciously, ideas are formed about dress. A questionnaire was prepared for the study. It required the subject to give his age, sex, and classification, but no name. The questions were designed to include some specific topics on female dress and some on male dress, with additional topics related to neither sex expressly. These questions were given to forty subjects, twenty males and twenty females
