PERFORMANCE EVALUATION ON QUALITY OF ASIAN AIRLINES WEBSITES – AN AHP PPROACH
In recent years, many people have devoted their efforts to the issue of quality of Web site. The concept of quality is consisting of many criteria: quality of service perspective, a user perspective, a content perspective or indeed a usability perspective. Because of its possible instant worldwide audience a Website’s quality and reliability are crucial. The very special nature of the web applications and websites pose unique software testing challenges. Webmasters, Web applications developers, and Website quality assurance managers need tools and methods that can match up to the new needs. This research conducts some tests to measure the quality web site of Asian flag carrier airlines via web diagnostic tools online. We propose a methodology for determining and evaluate the best airlines websites based on many criteria of website quality. The approach has been implemented using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to generate the weights for the criteria which are much better and guarantee more fairly preference of criteria. DOH: A Content Delivery Peer-to-Peer Network
Many SMEs and non-pro¯t organizations su®er when their Web
servers become unavailable due to °ash crowd e®ects when their web site
becomes popular. One of the solutions to the °ash-crowd problem is to place
the web site on a scalable CDN (Content Delivery Network) that replicates
the content and distributes the load in order to improve its response time.
In this paper, we present our approach to building a scalable Web Hosting
environment as a CDN on top of a structured peer-to-peer system of collaborative
web-servers integrated to share the load and to improve the overall
system performance, scalability, availability and robustness. Unlike clusterbased
solutions, it can run on heterogeneous hardware, over geographically
dispersed areas. To validate and evaluate our approach, we have developed a
system prototype called DOH (DKS Organized Hosting) that is a CDN implemented
on top of the DKS (Distributed K-nary Search) structured P2P
system with DHT (Distributed Hash table) functionality [9]. The prototype
is implemented in Java, using the DKS middleware, the Jetty web-server, and
a modi¯ed JavaFTP server. The proposed design of CDN has been evaluated
by simulation and by evaluation experiments on the prototype
Is the Web ready for HTTP/2 Server Push?
HTTP/2 supersedes HTTP/1.1 to tackle the performance challenges of the modern
Web. A highly anticipated feature is Server Push, enabling servers to send data
without explicit client requests, thus potentially saving time. Although
guidelines on how to use Server Push emerged, measurements have shown that it
can easily be used in a suboptimal way and hurt instead of improving
performance. We thus tackle the question if the current Web can make better use
of Server Push. First, we enable real-world websites to be replayed in a
testbed to study the effects of different Server Push strategies. Using this,
we next revisit proposed guidelines to grasp their performance impact. Finally,
based on our results, we propose a novel strategy using an alternative server
scheduler that enables to interleave resources. This improves the visual
progress for some websites, with minor modifications to the deployment. Still,
our results highlight the limits of Server Push: a deep understanding of web
engineering is required to make optimal use of it, and not every site will

Evaluation of the use of web technology by government of Sri Lanka to ensure food security for its citizens
Web technology is one of the key areas in information and communication
technology to be used as a powerful tool in ensuring food security which is one
of the main issues in Sri Lanka. Web technology involves in communicating and
sharing resources in network of computers all over the world. Main focus of
food security is to ensure that all people have fair access to sufficient and
quality food without endangering the future supply of the same food. In this
context, web sites play a vital and major role in achieving food security in
Sri Lanka. In this case study, websites pertaining to Sri Lankan government and
link with food security were analyzed to find out their impact in achieving the
goals of food security using web technologies and how they are being involved
in ensuring food security in Sri Lanka. The other objective of this study is to
make the Sri Lankan government aware of present situation of those websites in
addressing food security related issues and how modern web technologies could
be effectively and efficiently used to address those issues. So, the relevant
websites were checked against several criteria and scores were used to assess
their capabilities to address the concerns of food security. It was found that
the amount of emphasis given by these websites to address the issues of food
security is not satisfactory. Further, it showed that if these web sites could
be improved further, they would generate a powerful impact on ensuring food

Disaster Monitoring with Wikipedia and Online Social Networking Sites: Structured Data and Linked Data Fragments to the Rescue?
In this paper, we present the first results of our ongoing early-stage
research on a realtime disaster detection and monitoring tool. Based on
Wikipedia, it is language-agnostic and leverages user-generated multimedia
content shared on online social networking sites to help disaster responders
prioritize their efforts. We make the tool and its source code publicly
available as we make progress on it. Furthermore, we strive to publish detected
disasters and accompanying multimedia content following the Linked Data
principles to facilitate its wide consumption, redistribution, and evaluation

Innovative public governance through cloud computing: Information privacy, business models and performance measurement challenges
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyze challenges and to discuss proposed solutions for innovative public governance through cloud computing. Innovative technologies, such as federation of services and cloud computing, can greatly contribute to the provision of e-government services, through scaleable and flexible systems. Furthermore, they can facilitate in reducing costs and overcoming public information segmentation. Nonetheless, when public agencies use these technologies, they encounter several associated organizational and technical changes, as well as significant challenges. Design/methodology/approach: We followed a multidisciplinary perspective (social, behavioral, business and technical) and conducted a conceptual analysis for analyzing the associated challenges. We conducted focus group interviews in two countries for evaluating the performance models that resulted from the conceptual analysis. Findings: This study identifies and analyzes several challenges that may emerge while adopting innovative technologies for public governance and e-government services. Furthermore, it presents suggested solutions deriving from the experience of designing a related platform for public governance, including issues of privacy requirements, proposed business models and key performance indicators for public services on cloud computing. Research limitations/implications: The challenges and solutions discussed are based on the experience gained by designing one platform. However, we rely on issues and challenges collected from four countries. Practical implications: The identification of challenges for innovative design of e-government services through a central portal in Europe and using service federation is expected to inform practitioners in different roles about significant changes across multiple levels that are implied and may accelerate the challenges' resolution. Originality/value: This is the first study that discusses from multiple perspectives and through empirical investigation the challenges to realize public governance through innovative technologies. The Effect of Network and Infrastructural Variables on SPDY's Performance
HTTP is a successful Internet technology on top of which a lot of the web
resides. However, limitations with its current specification, i.e. HTTP/1.1,
have encouraged some to look for the next generation of HTTP. In SPDY, Google
has come up with such a proposal that has growing community acceptance,
especially after being adopted by the IETF HTTPbis-WG as the basis for
HTTP/2.0. SPDY has the potential to greatly improve web experience with little
deployment overhead. However, we still lack an understanding of its true
potential in different environments. This paper seeks to resolve these issues,
offering a comprehensive evaluation of SPDY's performance using extensive
experiments. We identify the impact of network characteristics and website
infrastructure on SPDY's potential page loading benefits, finding that these
factors are decisive for SPDY and its optimal deployment strategy. Through
this, we feed into the wider debate regarding HTTP/2.0, exploring the key
aspects that impact the performance of this future protocol
