    Get PDF
This paper studies the disturbance preview optimal control problem for discrete-time systems with multirate output sampling. By constructing the error system and using the discrete lifting technique, we reduce the multirate preview control problem to a single-rate one for a formal augmented system. Then, applying preview control theory, the optimal preview control law of the augmented error system is obtained. Meanwhile, we introduce a discrete integrator to eliminate the static error. Then we study a method to design a controller with preview action for the original system. And the existence conditions of the controller are also discussed in detail. Finally, numerical simulation is included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

Design of Optimal Output Regulators for Dual-Rate Linear Discrete-Time Systems Based on the Lifting Technique

A design strategy of optimal output regulators for dual-rate discrete-time systems, whose output sampling period is an integer multiple of the input updating period, is proposed. At first, by using the discrete lifting technique, the dual-rate discrete-time system is converted to a single-rate augmented system in form and the lifted state-space model is constructed. Correspondingly, the performance index of the original system is modified to the performance index of the single-rate augmented system. And the original problem is transformed into an output regulation problem for the augmented system. Then, according to the optimal regulator theory, an optimal output regulator for the dual-rate discrete-time system is derived. In the meantime, the existence conditions of the optimal output regulator are discussed. Finally, a numerical example is included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

© 2016 Fucheng Liao et al.This paper presents a method for designing a type one servomechanism for a discrete-time linear system with input delay subject to a previewable desired output and a nonmeasurable constant disturbance. The tracking problem of a delay system is transformed into a regulation problem of a delay-free system via constructing an augmented error system and a variable substitution. A controller is obtained with delay compensation and preview compensation based on preview control theory and the predictor method. When the state vector is not directly measurable, a full-dimensional observer is offered. The effectiveness of the design method is demonstrated by numerical simulations

Copyright © 2016 Jiang Wu et al.This paper discusses the optimal preview control problem for a class of linear continuous stochastic control systems in the infinite horizon, based on the augmented error system method. Firstly, an assistant system is designed and the state equation is translated to the assistant system. Then, an integrator is introduced to construct a stochastic augmented error system. As a result, the tracking problem is converted to a regulation problem. Secondly, the optimal regulator is solved based on dynamic programming principle for the stochastic system, and the optimal preview controller of the original system is obtained. Compared with the finite horizon, we simplify the performance index. We also study the stability of the stochastic augmented error system and design the observer for the original stochastic system. Finally, the simulation example shows the effectiveness of the conclusion in this paper

Novel Approach to Preview Control for a Class of Continuous-Time Systems

    Get PDF
This paper explicates a new method of designing a preview controller for a class of continuous-time systems. The augmented error system is constructed by the error system with the derivative of the tracking error signal, the state equation, and an identical equation of the derivative of the control input, which transforms a tracking problem into a regulation problem. Therefore, in the paper, the performance index contains the derivative of the control input. Based on the theory of optimal control, the regulator problem of the augmented error system is solved. Thus, the controller with preview compensation for the original system is deduced. The response speed of the closed-loop system is accelerated by the previewed demand output. A final numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed method

Design of an optimal preview controller for linear discrete-time periodic systems

    Get PDF
In this paper, the preview tracking control problem for linear discrete-time periodic systems is considered. First, to overcome the difficulty arising from periodicity of the system, the linear discrete-time periodic system is transformed into an ordinary time-invariant system by lifting method. Secondly, the difference between a system state and its steady-state value is used to derive an augmented system instead of the usual difference between system states. Then, the preview controller for the augmented system is proposed by the preview control theory, which solves the preview tracking control problem for the periodic systems. Moreover, an integrator is introduced to ensure that the output can track the reference signal without static error. Finally, the obtained results are illustrated by the simulation examples
