Contribución del comercio electrónico al desempeño de las PyMEs industriales: un modelo estructural
El rol que juegan las Tecnologías de la Información y comunicación (TIC) para lograr un mejor desempeño organizacional aún requiere de un análisis más profundo entre las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PyMEs) de los países en desarrollo. Este estudio pretende ampliar la literatura empírica sobre la relación entre TIC, comercio electrónico y desempeño de las PyMEs en países en desarrollo. Para alcanzar este objetivo, utilizamos una muestra de 87 empresas manufactureras de la ciudad de Bahia Blanca, Argentina correspondiente al año 2015. Mediante la estimación de un Modelo de ecuación estructura, se obtiene que la adopción del comercio electrónico posee una influencia positiva y significativa en las ventas de las PyMEs la cual es potenciada por el nivel de uso de las TIC. Otros factores organizacionales tales como el tamaño de la empresa y los programas públicos explican el desempeño, pero no son predictores significativos de la adopción del comercio electrónico.The role Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) play in achieving a better organizational performance still needs further analysis among small and medium sized enterprises (SME) from developing countries. This study aims to extend the empirical literature on the relationship between ICT, electronic commerce and SME performance in developing countries. To achieve this goal, we employ a sample of 87 manufacturing firms from the city of Bahía Blanca, Argentina in the year 2015. By estimating a structural equation model, we obtain that electronic commerce adoption has a positive and significant influence on SME sales which is reinforced by the level of ICT use. Stakeholders’ environmental influence. An empirical analysis in the Spanish hotel industry
We draw on the insights of stakeholder theory to explore the extent to which environmental management practices are driven by (i) an attempt to enhance a firm’s legitimacy, and (ii) a response to pressures arising from powerful stakeholders. The material for this investigation has been gathered from a sample of 279 Spanish hotels. The hotel industry which is only marginally affected by environmental regulation and is thus a widely neglected setting in this context, could be a particularly interesting subject for investigation, able to throw some light on the extent to which firms produce different responses to the environmental concerns of their stakeholders. Our results reveal that corporate environmental management practices may be a response to genuine environmental concerns, and we then speak of explicit environmental management, or there may also be reasons different from the environmental, in which case we speak of tacit environmental management. Our findings suggest that explicit and tacit environmental management account for a variety of organizational responses to the environmental demands of stakeholders, depending on (i) the stakeholders’ power regarding environmental issues, (ii) the stakeholders’ use of power to protect the environment, and (iii) the perceived economic advantages of environmental management activities.Publicad
An exploratory study on the emergence of management control systems: formalizing human resources in small growing firms
The adoption of management control systems (MCS) is a key element in managing the tension that growth imposes
on young growing firms. Despite its importance to a large number of organizations, only recently has the empirical
literature devoted attention to the evolution of these systems over the lifecycle of firms [Moores and Yuen, Account.
Organizat. Soc. 26 (2001) 351]. This paper builds upon existing management control theory, mostly focused on
established organizations, and existing predictions based on extended field observations to explore how these systems
are adopted within growing firms. To advance theory, the paper also draws from the entrepreneurship and life cycle
literatures. It identifies several variables as drivers of the emergence of management control systems including the size of
the organization, its age, the replacement of the founder as CEO, and the existence of outside investors. The empirical
evidence, from a database on the adoption of human resource management systems, is consistent with these variables
being associated with the adoption of MCS. The paper also provides initial results on how the emergence of various
types of management control systems depends on which systems the organization has already adopted.

The Impact Of Technology Trust On The Acceptance Of Mobile Banking Technology Within Nigeria
With advancement in the use of information technology seen as a key factor in economic development, developed countries are increasingly reviewing traditional systems, in various sectors such as education, health, transport and finance, and identifying how they may be improved or replaced with automated systems. In this study, the authors examine the role of technology trust in the acceptance of mobile banking in Nigeria as the country attempts to transition into a cashless economy. For Nigeria, like many other countries, its economic growth is linked, at least in part, to its improvement in information technology infrastructure, as well as establishing secure, convenient and reliable payments systems. Utilising the Technology Acceptance Model, this study investigates causal relationships between technology trust and other factors influencing user’s intention to adopt technology; focusing on the impact of seven factors contributing to technology trust. Data from 1725 respondents was analysed using confirmatory factor analysis and the results showed that confidentiality, integrity, authentication, access control, best business practices and non-repudiation significantly influenced technology trust. Technology trust showed a direct significant influence on perceived ease of use and usefulness, a direct influence on intention to use as well as an indirect influence on intention to use through its impact on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness showed significant influence on consumer’s intention to adopt the technology. With mobile banking being a key driver of Nigeria’s cashless economy goals, this study provides quantitative knowledge regarding technology trust and adoption behaviour in Nigeria as well as significant insight on areas where policy makers and mobile banking vendors can focus strategies engineered to improve trust in mobile banking and increase user adoption of their technology
Internet-driven customer centric : an exploratory analysis
Firm’s are becoming everyday more focus on customer orientation, leading to the need use of new techniques or combine use of existent ones. Both Customer Relationship Management and Knowledge Management are increasingly relevant in the corporate agendas as well as been broadly studied by academic researchers and with the development of the digital economy it’s necessary to have a larger understanding of their role in e-business performance. Thus, our aims are to determine whether the implementation of virtual CRM and KM is linked to e-business performance and to identify the nature of the relationship existing in the combine use of these tools. Thus, this paper establishes a new model of the practices and results of the both tools which has been tested in European companies. For that purpose, we used a structural equation modelling analysis. The results show that both virtual CRM and KM have a positive impact on the maximization of e-business performance and that their combine use has also a positive impact on e-business performance. As limitations of the study we consider the need for more research into this field and the inclusion of news elements such as technological readiness and management support. What role does corporate governance play in the intention to use cloud computing technology?
This paper aims to investigate the factors which promote the adoption of cloud-based technology. It strives for a better understanding of the impact of corporate governance on the adoption of this technology. This study concentrated on executives in companies where the use of cloud computing may give a competitive advantage. The main contribution of this work is to propose a model for the influence of corporate governance and other factors that determine the adoption of this technology. A questionnaire was prepared after taking into consideration the reviewed literature. The sample consisted of 164 technology companies from Southern Spain that already use the new economic models for digital solutions. The methodology used to analyze the structural model was the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results of the survey showed the influence of Corporate Governance and the procedures and practices of the organization on the adoption of cloud computing and the associated business model. This study aims to point out the importance of corporate support and Knowledge Management for the correct and successful adoption of this technology and to show the effects on the new business model of billing for the use of available resources. Generalized extreme value regression for binary response data: An application to B2B electronic payments system adoption
In the information system research, a question of particular interest is to
interpret and to predict the probability of a firm to adopt a new technology
such that market promotions are targeted to only those firms that were more
likely to adopt the technology. Typically, there exists significant difference
between the observed number of ``adopters'' and ``nonadopters,'' which is
usually coded as binary response. A critical issue involved in modeling such
binary response data is the appropriate choice of link functions in a
regression model. In this paper we introduce a new flexible skewed link
function for modeling binary response data based on the generalized extreme
value (GEV) distribution. We show how the proposed GEV links provide more
flexible and improved skewed link regression models than the existing skewed
links, especially when dealing with imbalance between the observed number of
0's and 1's in a data. The flexibility of the proposed model is illustrated
through simulated data sets and a billing data set of the electronic payments

Strategic Compensation: Does Business Strategy Influence Compensation in High-Technology Firms?
This study examined whether a firm\u27s business strategy influences the firm\u27s compensation systems in high-technology firms. For the firm strategy variable, we used innovation strategy, which is one of the most critical business strategies in the high-technology industry. Our analysis showed that a firm\u27s emphasis on innovation is positively related to the firm\u27s employee pay level, both short-term pay and long-term pay. Moreover, a firm\u27s emphasis on innovation has significant influence on several other aspects of employee compensation management. Innovation is positively associated with the difference in pay level between R&D employees and other employees, time orientation of employee compensation (the relative emphasis on long-term pay to short-term pay), and the length of the stock option vesting period.
