    A Self-Service Supporting Business Intelligence and Big Data Analytics Architecture

    Self-service Business Intelligence (SSBI) is an emerging topic for many companies. Casual users should be enabled to independently build their own analyses and reports. This accelerates and simplifies the decision-making processes. Although recent studies began to discuss parts of a self-service environment, none of these present a comprehensive architecture. Following a design science research approach, this study proposes a new self-service oriented BI architecture in order to address this gap. Starting from an in-depth literature review, an initial model was developed and improved by qualitative data analysis from interviews with 18 BI and IT specialists form companies across different industries. The proposed architecture model demonstrates the interaction between introduced self-service elements with each other and with traditional BI components.     With the increasing data of the application system, the fast and efficient access to the information of support decision-making analysis has become more and more difficult and the original OLAP technology have also revealed many shortcomings. Using the method of P2P network technology and OLAP storage query and query method, the paper has constructed a distributed P2P-OLAP network model and put forward the storage and sharing scheme of multidimensional data, OLAP query scheme based on collaboration support. Finally, the paper has shown that the scheme can effectively improve the performance of decision analysis by the experiment

    Analyzing Mappings and Properties in Data Warehouse Integration

    The information inside the Data Warehouse (DW) is used to take strategic decisions inside the organization that is why data quality plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the correctness of the decisions. Data quality also becomes a major issue when integrating information from two or more heterogeneous DWs. In the present paper, we perform extensive analysis of a mapping-based DW integration methodology and of its properties. In particular, we will prove that the proposed methodology guarantees coherency, meanwhile in certain cases it is able to maintain soundness and consistency. Moreover, intra-schema homogeneity is discussed and analysed as a necessary condition for summarizability and for optimization by materializing views of dependent queries

    Designing Cross-Company Business Intelligence Networks

    Business Intelligence (BI) ist der allgemein akzeptierte Begriff für Methoden, Konzepte und Werkzeuge zur Sammlung, Aufbereitung, Speicherung, Verteilung und Analyse von Daten für Management- und Geschäftsentscheidungen. Obwohl unternehmensübergreifende Kooperation in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten stets an Einfluss gewonnen hat, existieren nur wenige Forschungsergebnisse im Bereich unternehmensübergreifender BI. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt eine Arbeitsdefinition des Begriffs Cross-Company BI (CCBI) vor und grenzt diesen von gemeinschaftlicher Entscheidungsfindung ab. Auf Basis eines Referenzmodells, das existierende Arbeiten und Ansätze verwandter Forschungsbereiche berücksichtigt, werden umfangreiche Simulationen und Parametertests unternehmensübergreifender BI-Netzwerke durchgeführt. Es wird gezeigt, dass eine Peer-To-Peer-basierte Gestaltung der Netzwerke leistungsfähig und kompetitiv zu existierenden zentral-fokussierten Ansätzen ist. Zur Quantifizierung der Beobachtungen werden Messgrößen geprüft, die sich aus existierenden Konzepten zur Schemaüberführung multidimensionaler Daten sowie Überlegungen zur Daten- und Informationsqualität ableiten oder entwickeln lassen.Business Intelligence (BI) is a well-established term for methods, concepts and tools to retrieve, store, deliver and analyze data for management and business purposes. Although collaboration across company borders has substantially increased over the past decades, little research has been conducted specifically on Cross-Company BI (CCBI). In this thesis, a working definition and distinction from general collaborative decision making is proposed. Based on a reference model that takes existing research and related approaches of adjacent fields into account a peer-to-peer network design is created. With an extensive simulation and parameter testing it is shown that the design proves valuable and competitive to centralized approaches and that obtaining a critical mass of participants leads to improved usefulness of the network. To quantify the observations, appropriate quality measures rigorously derived from respected concepts on data and information quality and multidimensional data models are introduced and validated

    Intisari - Seiring perkembangan di bidang teknologi yang maju sebagai media informasi data. Saat ini dunia telah mengenal suatu teknologi yang disebut dengan internet. Dengan internet semua orang dapat  berkomunikasi  dan  memberikan  atau  mencari  informasi  berita-berita  tentang  pendidikan. Sekolah yang berada di bawah pengawasan Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Indramayu lebih tepatnya dapat diimplementasikan pada salah satu Kecamatan, dari segi kemajuan dan kualitas. Sehingga dibutuhkan pemetaan untuk mengetahui letak sekolah tersebut. Apabila hal itu tidak dilakukan, maka akibatnya arah pembangunan menjadi tidak tepat yang berakibat tidak berimbangnya keberadaan sekolah  terhadap  keadaan  penduduk.  Dengan  berkembangnya  dunia  informasi  saat  ini  membuat banyak kemudahan, salah satu teknologi yang saat ini banyak dikembangkan adalah Sistem Informasi Geografis (GIS). Sistem Informasi mengenai pemetaan sekolah merupakan gabungan antara teknologi GIS dan web memungkinkan informasi tersebut bisa ditampilkan ke dalam web page. Sistem ini dibangun dengan menggunakan Google Maps API untuk menampilkan peta lokasi sekolah di wilayah Kabupaten Indramayu pada Kecamatan Patrol. Data sekolah diperoleh dari Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Indramayu. Dengan adanya aplikasi Sistem Informasi Geografis, telah menyediakan informasi ke masyarakat dan Dinas Pendidikan tentang informasi sekolah dan pemetaan Sekolah di kabupaten Indramayu.     Business intelligence systems participate to deliveran accurate and useful information to decision makers in marketing division of bakeries manufacture. The purpose of this study was to design business intelligence model to analyze the marketing product, design the data mining model, measure and analyze the marketing process of the product they sell. The methodology of this research wasto analyze system requirements, design unified modeling language, make process extract, transform, and load, designdata warehouse, and data mining that integrated with the on line analytical process cube webbased. The business intelligence model produced was a marketing data mining model and on line analytical process cube. The result from on line analytical process cube was the data warehouse of transaction in R Bakery. In designing the data mining, K-means clustering method was used. The results from data mining k-means clustering were there were 83% cluster 1 and 17% cluster 2. Cluster 1 wasthecategorize for low leftover breads and cluster 2 was the categorize for high leftover breads. The model cube recency, frequency, and monetary and customer lifetime value resulted ranked out of the most amount of sales in R Bakery
