A looped-functional approach for robust stability analysis of linear impulsive systems

A new functional-based approach is developed for the stability analysis of linear impulsive systems. The new method, which introduces looped-functionals, considers non-monotonic Lyapunov functions and leads to LMIs conditions devoid of exponential terms. This allows one to easily formulate dwell-times results, for both certain and uncertain systems. It is also shown that this approach may be applied to a wider class of impulsive systems than existing methods. Some examples, notably on sampled-data systems, illustrate the efficiency of the approach.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures, Accepted at Systems & Control Letter

Preview Tracking Control of Linear Periodic Switched Systems with Dwell Time

    Get PDF
This paper studies the preview tracking control problem for linear discrete-time periodic switched systems. Firstly, an augmented error system is constructed for each subsystem by stabilizing the augmented error systems through the method of optimal preview control, and the tracking problem of the switched system is transformed into the switched stability problem of closed-loop augmented error systems. Secondly, a switched Lyapunov function method is applied to search the minimal dwell time satisfying the switched stability of the closed-loop augmented error systems. Thirdly, the switched preview control input is solved from the controller of the individual augmented error system, and then the sufficient conditions and the preview controller can be obtained to guarantee the solvability of the original periodic switched preview tracking problem. Finally, numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the stabilization design method

Global exponential stabilization of language constrained switched linear discrete-time system based on the s-procedure approach

This paper considers global exponential stabilization (GES) of switched linear discrete-time system under language constraint which is generated by non-deterministic finite state automata. A technique in linear matrix inequalities called S-procedure is employed to provide sufficient conditions of GES which are less conservative than the existing Lyapunov-Metzler condition. Moreover, by revising the construction of Lyapunov matrices and the corresponding switching control policy, a more flexible result is obtained such that stabilization path at each moment might be multiple. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results

Optimistic minimax search for noncooperative switched control with or without dwell time

International audienceWe consider adversarial problems in which two agents control two switching signals, the first agent aiming to maximize a discounted sum of rewards, and the second aiming to minimize it. Both signals may be subject to constraints on the dwell time after a switch. We search the tree of possible mode sequences with an algorithm called optimistic minimax search with dwell time (OMSd), showing that it obtains a solution close to the minimax-optimal one, and we characterize the rate at which the suboptimality goes to zero. The analysis is driven by a novel measure of problem complexity, and it is first given in the general dwell-time case, after which it is specialized to the unconstrained case. We exemplify the framework for networked control systems where the minimizer signal is a discrete time delay on the control channel, and we provide extensive simulations and a real-time experiment for nonlinear systems of this type

Positive Switched System Approach to Traffic Signal Control for Oversaturated Intersection

    Get PDF
The online traffic signalization for intersection is addressed. A new model for intersection called positive switched system is presented. Then, based on the dissipativity analysis results for positive switched system, an online state-feedback control strategy for traffic signal in two-phase intersection section is proposed. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of our theoretical findings. Finally, in order to extend to more general cases, multiphase intersection is considered, and general dissipativity-based control is presented
