Existence and asymptotic analysis of positive solutions for a singular fractional differential equation with nonlocal boundary conditions

    Get PDF
In this paper, we focus on the existence and asymptotic analysis of positive solutions for a class of singular fractional differential equations subject to nonlocal boundary conditions. By constructing suitable upper and lower solutions and employing Schauder’s fixed point theorem, the conditions for the existence of positive solutions are established and the asymptotic analysis for the obtained solution is carried out. In our work, the nonlinear function involved in the equation not only contains fractional derivatives of unknown functions but also has a stronger singularity at some points of the time and space variables

In this paper, we establish the results of nonexistence and existence of blow-up radial solutions for a k-Hessian equation with a nonlinear operator. Under some suitable growth conditions for nonlinearity, the result of nonexistence of blow-up solutions is established, a sufficient and necessary condition on existence of blow-up solutions is given, and some further results are obtained.&nbsp

    Get PDF
In this paper, we study a higher-order fractional differential equation with integral boundary conditions and a parameter. Under different conditions of nonlinearity, existence and nonexistence results for positive solutions are derived in terms of different intervals of parameter. Our approach relies on the Guo–Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem on cones

Solvability for a system of Hadamard fractional multi-point boundary value problems

    Get PDF
In this paper, we study a system of Hadamard fractional multi-point boundary value problems. We first obtain triple positive solutions when the nonlinearities satisfy some bounded conditions. Next, we also obtain a nontrivial solution when the nonlinearities can be asymptotically linear growth. Furthermore, we provide two examples to illustrate our main results

© 2018, The Author(s). In this paper, we focus on the convergence analysis and error estimation for the unique solution of a p-Laplacian fractional differential equation with singular decreasing nonlinearity. By introducing a double iterative technique, in the case of the nonlinearity with singularity at time and space variables, the unique positive solution to the problem is established. Then, from the developed iterative technique, the sequences converging uniformly to the unique solution are formulated, and the estimates of the error and the convergence rate are derived

On the performance analysis of the least mean M-estimate and normalized least mean M-estimate algorithms with Gaussian inputs and additive Gaussian and contaminated Gaussian noises

This paper studies the convergence analysis of the least mean M-estimate (LMM) and normalized least mean M-estimate (NLMM) algorithms with Gaussian inputs and additive Gaussian and contaminated Gaussian noises. These algorithms are based on the M-estimate cost function and employ error nonlinearity to achieve improved robustness in impulsive noise environment over their conventional LMS and NLMS counterparts. Using the Price's theorem and an extension of the method proposed in Bershad (IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, ASSP-34(4), 793-806, 1986; IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 35(5), 636-644, 1987), we first derive new expressions of the decoupled difference equations which describe the mean and mean square convergence behaviors of these algorithms for Gaussian inputs and additive Gaussian noise. These new expressions, which are expressed in terms of the generalized Abelian integral functions, closely resemble those for the LMS algorithm and allow us to interpret the convergence performance and determine the step size stability bound of the studied algorithms. Next, using an extension of the Price's theorem for Gaussian mixture, similar results are obtained for additive contaminated Gaussian noise case. The theoretical analysis and the practical advantages of the LMM/NLMM algorithms are verified through computer simulations. © 2009 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.published_or_final_versionSpringer Open Choice, 01 Dec 201

On the boundary value problems of piecewise differential equations with left-right fractional derivatives and delay

    Get PDF
In this paper, we study the multi-point boundary value problems for a new kind of piecewise differential equations with left and right fractional derivatives and delay. In this system, the state variables satisfy the different equations in different time intervals, and they interact with each other through positive and negative delay. Some new results on the existence, no-existence and multiplicity for the positive solutions of the boundary value problems are obtained by using Guo–Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem and Leggett–Williams fixed point theorem. The results for existence highlight the influence of perturbation parameters. Finally, an example is given out to illustrate our main results
