Bulgarian National Ethnographic Museum – Meeting the Challenges of Digitisation
The conservation, spread, comprehension and recreation of traditional culture heritages is one of the
main purpose of the National Ethnographic Museum in Bulgaria. As other cultural and scientific heritage
institutions, it begins to use new information technologies and strategies for providing access to its cultural
heritage treasures. This paper aims to present digital libraries with multimedia content as a modern technological
solution for innovative presentation of Bulgarian ethnographical heritage. It includes some basic concepts of
digital libraries with multimedia content and a description of three types of architecture. The paper also describes
the ideas, conceptual decisions and strategies in the project Experimental Digital Library “Bulgarian Ethnographic
Treasury”
Documenting architecture. From 3D simulations to virtual restoration
The Casa del Mutilato (House of the Mutilated) in Ancona, Italy, is a significant example of twentieth-century architecture and the current initiatives aimed at its recovery and restoration can represent a useful and interesting test bed for experimenting with the most innovative IT methodologies for documenting the history and state of conservation of the building. This contribution therefore intends to propose some possible strategies for the design and implementation of a new concept of digital information system to preserve all the documentation relating to the Casa del Mutilato, make it accessible online also to citizens and the wider public, create a useful service for the management of the building itself, and enhance the asset, making known its history, constructive and artistic characteristics, and the possibilities of use. The results so obtained can then be usefully utilized for the documentation and planning of the recovery of monumental buildings of the twentieth century of historical and artistic interest in Europe

Building information modeling (BIM) of cultural heritage. Case study: 28 Dragoman St, Varna, Bulgaria
The publication presents the efforts of the team of the R&D SME Architectural Spies EOOD of creating models of the cultural heritage (CH) building at 28 Dragoman St and 11 Bdin St, Varna, Bulgaria. The team vectorized the old paper plans from 1912, did aerial and terrestrial photos and movies, completed the data acquisition from 2D images to a 3D model, testing 3 types of software for photogrammetry, and finalized the building information model (BIM). The BIM is a base for creating the building energy model (BEM) and applications for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) of the same building. The work is included as a virtual demonstration site in the H2020 project BIM-SPEED (Harmonized Building Information Speedway for Energy-Efficient Renovation)

Cultural Heritage Preservation in Digital Repositories: A Bibliometric Analysis
The World Wide Web (WWW) has changed the way that we access information. Digital repositories have become the solution for preserving old materials and the venue to allow open access (OA) to the public. This research paper examined the scholarly library and information science (LIS) literature related to cultural heritage and digital preservation including publication over time, core journals, countries that were the focus of publications, and types of library or cultural repositories that are delineated herein
Digital Approaches for the Presentation of Tourist Sites with Historical Significance
This paper explores the digital approaches for the presentation of tourist sites with historical significance, focusing on the integration of cutting-edge technologies and innovative strategies. It investigates the use of virtual reality
(VR), digital libraries and interactive web platforms to create immersive and interactive experiences for visitors. The paper highlights the benefits of these digital approaches in enhancing tourism, conservation efforts, and cultural understanding. Additionally, it discusses the role of digital representations in preserving both – the tangible and intangible heritage, while also promoting global accessibility, passing down the generations, volunteering and cultural exchange.
Through case studies and examples, the paper showcases the transformative potential of digital approaches in presenting and safeguarding cultural heritage
