    Linking Neutrosophic AHP and Neutrosophic Social Choice Theory for Group Decision Making

    Abstract. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a decision-making technique that has been widely studied and developed by the scientific community. The interest in this tool is because it combines scientific rigor with the simplicity of its application. Additionally, it has been extended to uncertainty frameworks, such as fuzzy and neutrosophic frameworks. This paper aims to define a new method called NAHP+NSC, where the Neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process (NAHP) is combined with the recently introduced Neutrosophic Social Choice (NSC) theory. Neutrosophy incorporates indeterminacy to both the AHP technique and the SC theory, which is an intrinsic condition of any decision-making process. On the other hand, it is possible to count on a group of experts to carry out the NAHP evaluations, where the chosen alternative is the one with the highest votes. Experts are divided into kind of homogeneous sub-groups called Interest Groups (IG), where each IG conjointly evaluates the proposed alternatives, and then tools of NSC are used for choosing the best alternative. The contribution of this new method is that evaluations and results are more accurate when indeterminacy is incorporated

    In recent years water exploitation has become greater for many reasons such as population growth industrial development urbanization growth and consequently increased demand for food products Hence the rate of exploitation and consumption ground water become greater than recharge of them in other words input of ground water system is less than its output and system with negative balance sheet has positive feedback and it is collapsing Thus it is very significant to determine the suitable position for Artificial Recharge of ground water One of the management methods for water resources is Multi Criteria Decision Making The analytic hierarchy process AHP is a structured technique for dealing with complex decisions that was developed by Thomas L Saaty in the 1980 year It provides a comprehensive and rational framework for structuring a decision problem for representing and quantifying its elements for relating those elements to overall goals and for evaluating alternative solutions The base of this model is comparing variables by pair wise by Matrix relationship In this way pair wise of the effective variables on the concrete Pavement were considered and based on relative weights the output was extent In the present research combination of Indexing system Method with Analytical Hierarchy Process has been applied to assess the Selection of most appropriate area to establish soil damp for artificial recharge of underground aquifers The findings of the research show that zone 3 with 0 3606 points promotes in first rank among 5 studied zones and thus it is the most appropriate zone for Artificial Recharge of ground waters in contrast zone 5 with 0 1731 point goes down to the last rank and so it isn t suitable for Artificial Recharge and zones 2 4 1 are located in next rank

    Decision support model for the selection of asphalt wearing courses in highly trafficked roads

    The suitable choice of the materials forming the wearing course of highly trafficked roads is a delicate task because of their direct interaction with vehicles. Furthermore, modern roads must be planned according to sustainable development goals, which is complex because some of these might be in conflict. Under this premise, this paper develops a multi-criteria decision support model based on the analytic hierarchy process and the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution to facilitate the selection of wearing courses in European countries. Variables were modelled using either fuzzy logic or Monte Carlo methods, depending on their nature. The views of a panel of experts on the problem were collected and processed using the generalized reduced gradient algorithm and a distance-based aggregation approach. The results showed a clear preponderance by stone mastic asphalt over the remaining alternatives in different scenarios evaluated through sensitivity analysis.     Evaluation of Corporate Sustainability

    As a consequence of an increasing demand in sustainable development for business organizations, the evaluation of corporate sustainability has become a topic intensively focused by academic researchers and business practitioners. Several techniques in the context of multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA) have been suggested to facilitate the evaluation and the analysis of sustainability performance. However, due to the complexity of evaluation, such as a compilation of quantitative and qualitative measures, interrelationships among various sustainability criteria, the assessor’s hesitation in scoring, or incomplete information, simple techniques may not be able to generate reliable results which can reflect the overall sustainability performance of a company. This paper proposes a series of mathematical formulations based upon the evidential reasoning (ER) approach which can be used to aggregate results from qualitative judgments with quantitative measurements under various types of complex and uncertain situations. The evaluation of corporate sustainability through the ER model is demonstrated using actual data generated from three sugar manufacturing companies in Thailand. The proposed model facilitates managers in analysing the performance and identifying improvement plans and goals. It also simplifies decision making related to sustainable development initiatives. The model can be generalized to a wider area of performance assessment, as well as to any cases of multiple criteria analysis

    Addressing the wicked problem of water resource management: An ecosystem services approach

    This paper develops a systematic assessment of the sustainability of ecosystem services provided by rivers impacted by water storage projects. Given the conflicting preferences amongst stakeholders and the incomplete, uncertain and contradictory understanding about river ecology it is recognized that managing water resources sustainably is a wicked problem.     The use of multi-criteria analysis in the recovery of abandoned mines: a study of intervention in Portugal

    Tendo em consideração a existência de uma limitação orçamentária que inviabilizava a recuperação de todas as áreas mineiras abandonadas, foi necessário desenvolver um modelo que permitisse escolher quais as minas que seriam objeto de intervenção, tendo em consideração os diferentes fatores de avaliação de seus efeitos externos (no ambiente, na saúde pública, na paisagem e no seu aproveitamento para a arqueologia industrial). A partir de uma análise multicritério (utilizando o Analytical Hierarchy Process - AHP), onde cada fator preponderante, resultado e mina foram comparados, gerou-se um modelo inovador de avaliação onde se garantiu a maximização do valor global da intervenção, em comparação a outros dois métodos (intervenção ordenada pela maior gravidade global e pela relação custo-benefício). Os resultados apontam para uma escolha econ×mica e socialmente viável e eficiente, permitindo instigar novos estudos análogos.Considering that the budget for the recovery of abandoned mining zones is limited, it was necessary to develop a model that would make it possible to choose which mines should be targeted for intervention, taking into account the various factors by which their external effects may be assessed (the environment, public health, the landscape and their usefulness to industrial archaeology). A multi-criteria analysis using the analytic hierarchy process, in which each major factor, result, and mine are compared, was employed to generate an innovative assessment model that guaranteed that the overall value of the intervention was maximised, compared to two other methods (intervention ranked by the greatest overall severity and ranked by the cost-benefit ratio). The results indicate an economically and socially viable and efficient choice, making it possible to undertake new similar studies
