    State Estimation for Fractional-Order Complex Dynamical Networks with Linear Fractional Parametric Uncertainty

    This paper deals with state estimation problem for a class of fractional-order complex dynamical networks with parametric uncertainty. The parametric uncertainty is assumed to be of linear fractional form. Firstly, based on the properties of Kronecker product and the stability of fractional-order system, a sufficient condition is derived for robust asymptotic stability of linear fractional-order augmented system. Secondly, state estimation problem is then studied for the same fractional-order complex networks, where the purpose is to design a state estimator to estimate the network state through available output measurement, the existence conditions of designing state estimator are derived using matrix's singular value decomposition and LMI techniques. These conditions are in the form of linear matrix inequalities which can be readily solved by applying the LMI toolbox. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the validity of our approach

    Finite-time lag projective synchronization of delayed fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks with parameter uncertainties

    This paper discusses a class issue of finite-time lag projective synchronization (FTLPS) of delayed fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks (FOQVNNs) with parameter uncertainties, which is solved by a non-decomposition method. Firstly, a new delayed FOQVNNs model with uncertain parameters is designed. Secondly, two types of feedback controller and adaptive controller without sign functions are designed in the quaternion domain. Based on the Lyapunov analysis method, the non-decomposition method is applied to replace the decomposition method that requires complex calculations, combined with some quaternion inequality techniques, to accurately estimate the settling time of FTLPS. Finally, the correctness of the obtained theoretical results is testified by a numerical simulation example

    Robust adaptive synchronization of a class of uncertain chaotic systems with unknown time-delay

    In this paper, a robust adaptive control strategy is proposed to synchronize a class of uncertain chaotic systems with unknown time delays. Using Lyapunov theory and Lipschitz conditions in chaotic systems, the necessary adaptation rules for estimating uncertain parameters and unknown time delays are determined. Based on the proposed adaptation rules, an adaptive controller is recommended for the robust synchronization of the aforementioned uncertain systems that prove the robust stability of the proposed control mechanism utilizing the Lyapunov theorem. Finally, to evaluate the proposed robust and adaptive control mechanism, the synchronization of two Jerk chaotic systems with finite non-linear uncertainty and external disturbances as well as unknown fixed and variable time delays are simulated. The simulation results confirm the ability of the proposed control mechanism in robust synchronization of the uncertain chaotic systems as well as to estimate uncertain and unknown parameters

    Stability Analysis of Delayed Genetic Regulatory Networks via a Relaxed Double Integral Inequality

    Time delay arising in a genetic regulatory network may cause the instability. This paper is concerned with the stability analysis of genetic regulatory networks with interval time-varying delays. Firstly, a relaxed double integral inequality, named as Wirtinger-type double integral inequality (WTDII), is established to estimate the double integral term appearing in the derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with a triple integral term. And it is proved theoretically that the proposed WTDII is tighter than the widely used Jensen-based double inequality and the recently developed Wiringter-based double inequality. Then, by applying the WTDII to the stability analysis of a delayed genetic regulatory network, together with the usage of useful information of regulatory functions, several delay-range- and delay-rate-dependent (or delay-rate-independent) criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an example is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and also to show the advantages of the established stability criteria through the comparison with some literature

    Fixed-time control of delayed neural networks with impulsive perturbations

    This paper is concerned with the fixed-time stability of delayed neural networks with impulsive perturbations. By means of inequality analysis technique and Lyapunov function method, some novel fixed-time stability criteria for the addressed neural networks are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The settling time can be estimated without depending on any initial conditions but only on the designed controllers. In addition, two different controllers are designed for the impulsive delayed neural networks. Moreover, each controller involves three parts, in which each part has different role in the stabilization of the addressed neural networks. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis

The objectives of load frequency control are to maintain power balance between interconnected areas and to control the power flow in the tie-lines. Electric power cannot be stored in large quantity that is why its production must be equal to the consumption in each time. This equation constitutes the key for a good management of any power system and introduces the need of more controllers when taking into account the integration of renewable energy sources into the traditional power system.     New delay-dependent stability criteria for recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays

A new improved delay-dependent stability criterion expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities is derived by constructing a dedicated Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional via utilizing Wirtinger inequality and convex combination approach. Moreover, a further improved delay-dependent stability criterion is established by means of a new partitioning method for bounding conditions on the activation function and certain new activation function conditions presented. Finally, the application of these novel results to an illustrative example from the literature has been investigated and their effectiveness is shown via comparison with the existing recent ones

    An improved stability criterion for linear time-varying delay systems

    This paper considers the stability problem of linear systems with time-varying delays. A modified Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) is constructed, which consists of delay-dependent matrices and double integral items under two time-varying subintervals. Based on the modified LKF, a less conservative stability criterion than some previous ones is derived. Furthermore, to obtain a tighter bound of the integral terms, the quadratic generalized free-weighting matrix inequality (QGFMI) is fully applied to different delay subintervals, which further reduces the conservatism of the stability criterion. Finally, three numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach
