Ultra-Thin Chip Package (UTCP) and stretchable circuit technologies for wearable ECG system
A comfortable, wearable wireless ECG monitoring system is proposed. The device is realized using the combination of two proprietary advanced technologies for electronic packaging and interconnection : the UTCP (Ultra-Thin Chip Package) technology and the SMI (Stretchable Mould Interconnect) technology for elastic and stretchable circuits. Introduction of these technologies results in small fully functional devices, exhibiting a significant increase in user comfort compared to devices fabricated with more conventional packaging and interconnection technologies
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design process and fabrication
This module describes main characteristics of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). A brief history of PCBs is introduced in the first chapter. Then, the design processes and the fabrication of PCBs are addressed and finally a study case is presented in the last chapter of the module.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
Subgap conductivity in SIN-junctions of high barrier transparency
We investigate the current-voltage characteristics of high-transparency
superconductor-insulator-normal metal (SIN) junctions with the specific tunnel
resistance below 30 kOhm per square micron. The junctions were fabricated from
different superconducting and normal conducting materials, including Nb, Al,
AuPd and Cu. The subgap leakage currents were found to be appreciably larger
than those given by the standard tunnelling model. We explain our results using
the model of two-electron tunnelling in the coherent diffusive transport
regime. We demonstrate that even in the high-transparency SIN-junctions, a
noticeable reduction of the subgap current can be achieved by splitting a
junction into several submicron sub-junctions. These structures can be used as
nonlinear low-noise shunts in Rapid-Single-Flux-Quantum (RSFQ) circuitry for
controlling Josephson qubits.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 1 tabl
Design, processing and testing of LSI arrays hybrid microelectronics task
Those factors affecting the cost of electronic subsystems utilizing LSI microcircuits were determined and the most efficient methods for low cost packaging of LSI devices as a function of density and reliability were developed
Design of LCOS microdisplay backplanes for projection applications
Electrostatically driven vacuum-encapsulated polysilicon resonators part I. design and fabrication
Basic design issues and a fabrication process based on surface-micromachining techniques for electrostatically driven vacuum-encapsulated polysilicon resonators are presented. A novel freeze-drying method that does not require vacuum equipment is presented. Reactive sealing with LPCVD silicon nitride is used to create the evacuated cavity, resulting in cavity pressures close to the deposition pressure. Design issues regarding choice of materials, technology and layout are discussed. First experimental results, including an admittance plot of the one-port resonator and a plot indicating the dependence of the Q-factor on the resonator geometry and ambient pressure, are presented
