Curriculum, Autophotography, and Jungian Depth Psychology: A Trinity of Social Change
This work will show that through the process of currere, practiced through autophotography, teachers will have the opportunity to create classrooms that promote Carl Jung\u27s archetypal journey of the soul which in turn institutes a form of social justice teaching and learning for their students. Within this work, I engage in a conversation regarding curriculum as an autophotographic journey of the soul. Autophotography is the artistic process by which a person photographs both the people and places that are actual or metaphoric examples of his or her life. With the unveiling of one\u27s true reality, especially in the case of the photographic image, autophotography encourages one to change and morph towards a greater consciousness of the world around him/her. This greater consciousness is led by the work and journey of the archetypes of the collective unconscious. According to my interpretation, the goal of the soul\u27s journey and transformation can be accomplished through an autophotographical social justice curriculum from which positive societal change can occur
Dora maar & margaret michaelis: two photographers in front of the art and architecture
The interest of the silent work of the artist
in his studio or the continued attention
of the slow gestation of the architecture,
have been constant since long time ago.
The good photographers have always
been ready to put their careful look on
this processes. It’s very interesting to
peel what ocurred in the first decades
of the 20Th century, and specially on the
years before the spanish civil war. In this
years, I will observe the figures of two
women photographers – Dora Maar and
Margaret Michaelis– that understood
the creative processes as a fundamental
part of the artistic creation, and thanks
to which, we discovered this authors, we
visualize the scenes of their gestation
and we enjoy with the plastic arts of their
constructive advances
Yoko Ono's Magical Thinking
In this piece I analyse Yoko Ono's recent artwork Mended Cups and link this to other creative works concerned with grief and mourning
Guernica in the conscience of the french speaking writers of Belgium
conciudadanos durante varios deceniosSince its outbreak, the Spanish Civil War has shocked the Belgian society. The intellectuals
mobilized themselves very quickly: most of them supported the Republican Governement
and some of them glorified the pro-Franco rebellion. It is obvious that the trauma caused
by the Basque cities destruction -included the one of Guernica at the end of april 37- urged
lots of antifascist citizens to get out of their silence: the massacre of this population considered
the most catholic of Spain explained the nationalist trick that consisted of granting
the status of religious crusade to the military rising. Many Belgian writers of different
generations express the strong impact that the name of Guernica had, for several decades,
on the conscience of their fellow citizen
The Politics of Abstract Art. Forma 1 and the Italian Communist Party
