    Get PDF
This paper presents the induced generalized ordered weighted logarithmic aggregation (IGOWLA) operator, this operator is an extension of the generalized ordered weighted logarithmic aggregation (GOWLA) operator. It uses order-induced variables that modify the reordering process of the arguments included in the aggregation. The principal advantage of the introduced induced mechanism is the consideration of highly complex attitude from the decision makers. We study some families of the IGOWLA operator as measures for the characterization of the weighting vector (...

OWA operators in human resource management

    Get PDF
We develop a new approach that uses the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator in different methods for the selection of human resources. The objective of this new model is to manipulate the neutrality of the old methods, so the decision maker can select human resources according to his degree of optimism or pessimism. In order to develop this model, first, a short revision of the OWA operators is introduced. Next, we briefly explain the general model for the selection of human resources and suggest three new indexes for the selection of human resources that use the OWA operator and the hybrid average in the Hamming distance, in the adequacy coefficient and in the index of maximum and minimum level. The main advantage of this method is that it is more complete than the previous ones so the decision maker gets a better understanding of the decision problem. The work ends with an illustrative example that shows the results obtained by using different types of aggregation operators in the new approaches.

Intuitionistic linguistic multi-attribute decision making algorithm based on integrated distance measure

    Get PDF
This study aims to integrate the intuitionistic linguistic multi-attribute decision making (MADM) method which builds upon an integrated distance measure into supplier evaluation and selection problems. More specifically, an intuitionistic linguistic integrated distance measure based on ordered weighted averaging operator (OWA) and weighted average approach is presented and applied. The desirable characteristics and families of the developed distance operator are further explored. In addition, based on the proposed distance measure, a supplier selection problem for an automobile factory is used to test the practicality of its framework. The effectiveness and applicability of the presented framework for supplier selection are examined by carrying comparative analysis against the existing techniques of aggregation

New logarithmic operational laws and their applications to multiattribute decision making for single-valued neutrosophic numbers

    Get PDF
Neutrosophic set, initiated by Smarandache, is a novel tool to deal with vagueness considering the truth, indeterminacy and falsity memberships satisfying the condition that their sum is less than 3. This set can be used to characterize the information more accurately than the intuitionistic fuzzy set. Under this set, the objective of this manuscript is to present some new operational laws called as logarithm operational laws with real number base k for the single-valued neutrosophic (SVN) numbers. Various desirable properties of the proposed operational laws are contemplated. Further, based on these laws, different weighted averaging and geometric aggregation operators are developed

We analyse the use of the ordered weighted average (OWA) in decision-making giving special attention to business and economic decision-making problems. We present several aggregation techniques that are very useful for decision-making such as the Hamming distance, the adequacy coefficient and the index of maximum and minimum level. We suggest a new approach by using immediate weights, that is, by using the weighted average and the OWA operator in the same formulation. We further generalize them by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means. We also analyse the applicability of the OWA operator in business and economics and we see that we can use it instead of the weighted average. We end the paper with an application in a business multi-person decision-making problem regarding production management

Copyright © 2019 The Author(s). Published by VGTU Press. This paper introduces the induced ordered weighted logarithmic averaging IOWLAD and multiregion induced ordered weighted logarithmic averaging MR-IOWLAD operators. The distinctive characteristic of these operators lies in the notion of distance measures combined with the complex reordering mechanism of inducing variables and the properties of the logarithmic averaging operators. The main advantage of MR-IOWLAD operators is their design, which is specifically thought to aid in decision-making when a set of diverse regions with different properties must be considered. Moreover, the induced weighting vector and the distance measure mechanisms of the operator allow for the wider modeling of problems, including heterogeneous information and the complex attitudinal character of experts, when aiming for an ideal scenario. Along with analyzing the main properties of the IOWLAD operators, their families and specific cases, we also introduce some extensions, such as the induced generalized ordered weighted averaging IGOWLAD operator and Choquet integrals. We present the induced Choquet logarithmic distance averaging ICLD operator and the generalized induced Choquet logarithmic distance averaging IGCLD operator. Finally, an illustrative example is proposed, including real-world information retrieved from the United Nations World Statistics for global regions

New aggregation operators for decision-making under uncertainty: an applications in selection of entrepreneurial opportunities

    Get PDF
The main aim of this paper is to study how economic environment and logic reasoning guidance the decision-making process to start-up a new business by potential entrepreneurs. The study proposes a new method using the family of selection indices with OWA operator, which allows aggregating information according to the level of importance and their level of objectivity and subjectivity in the same formulation within the decision-making process. To develop case study, we have taken into account some industries of the sports sector and some critical environmental factors that influence the competitiveness and entrepreneurship in Colombia to start a new business. The results show in an orderly way all information aggregated, which can help potential investors and entrepreneurs to make a decision based on their preferences. Finally, the applicability of this method in real case can be given in aggregation different sources of information to help at dealing decision-making processes

Intuitionistic fuzzy generalized probabilistic ordered weighted averaging operator and its application to group decision making

    Get PDF
In this paper, we present the intuitionistic fuzzy generalized probabilistic ordered weighted averaging (IFGPOWA) operator. It is a new aggregation operator that uses generalized means in a unified model between the probability and the OWA operator. The main advantage of this new operator is that it is able to deal with probabilities (objective information) and ordered weighted averages (subjective information) in the same formulation. Moreover, it is also able to deal with uncertain environments that can be assessed with intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Furthermore, it uses generalized means providing a very general formulation that includes a wide range of situations. We study some of its main properties and particular cases such as the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (GIFOWA) operator and intuitionistic fuzzy probabilistic ordered weighted averaging (IFPOWA) operator. We end the paper by applying the new operator to a group decision making problem concerning the selection of investments. First published online: 26 Jun 201

Uncertain averaging operators: a new way to study the psychosocial organizational phenomena

The aim of this paper is to use uncertain averaging operators (Uncertain Average, Uncertain Weighted Average, Uncertain Probabilistic Aggregation, and Uncertain Probabilistic Weighted Average) in order to explore psychosocial processes. Traditionally, research in the field of work and organizational psychology has departed from positivism, based on simple deterministic laws that are unable to account for the complexity of organizational phenomena. Our purpose is to show how the Experton methodology contributes to the study of managers' subjectivity on their perception of Corporate Social Responsibility policies development. This is a very innovating perspective in the research of work and organizational psychology. We developed an interview guideline to analyze the level of development of policies for the workplace integration of persons with disabilities. Thirty-five interviews were obtained. Respondents were top managers, Chief Executive Officers, human resources and Corporate Social Responsibility managers. Ten academic and professional experts, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, were asked to establish confidence intervals based on four anchors. The results achieved by the managers and by the experts group reached a similar assessment of the degree of deployment of those policies related to collaborate with the local community and associations, and the setting-up of strategic alliances. These techniques provide an assessment that optimizes the result, as it indicates the exact level of implementation of the policies for the workplace integration of persons with disabilities
