summary:We introduce modified (p,q)(p,q)-Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators. We discuss approximation properties for these operators based on Korovkin type approximation theorem and compute the order of convergence using usual modulus of continuity. We also study the local approximation property of the sequence of positive linear operators Dn,p,q∗{D}_{n,p,q}^{\ast } and compute the rate of convergence for the function ff belonging to the class LipM(γ){\rm Lip}_{M}(\gamma )

Abstract Our purpose is to introduce a two-parametric ( p , q ) (p,q)(p, q) -analogue of the Stancu-Beta operators. We study approximating properties of these operators using the Korovkin approximation theorem and also study a direct theorem. We also obtain the Voronovskaya-type estimate for these operators. Furthermore, we study the weighted approximation results and pointwise estimates for these operators

The importance and usefulness of subjects and topics involving integral transformations and operational calculus are becoming widely recognized, not only in the mathematical sciences but also in the physical, biological, engineering and statistical sciences. This book contains invited reviews and expository and original research articles dealing with and presenting state-of-the-art accounts of the recent advances in these important and potentially useful subjects

    On Sequences of J. P. King-Type Operators

This survey is devoted to a series of investigations developed in the last fifteen years, starting from the introduction of a sequence of positive linear operators which modify the classical Bernstein operators in order to reproduce constant functions and x2 on [0,1]. Nowadays, these operators are known as King operators, in honor of J. P. King who defined them, and they have been a source of inspiration for many scholars. In this paper we try to take stock of the situation and highlight the state of the art, hoping that this will be a useful tool for all people who intend to extend King's approach to some new contents within Approximation Theory. In particular, we recall the main results concerning certain King-type modifications of two well known sequences of positive linear operators, the Bernstein operators and the SzĂĄsz-Mirakyan operators

This work focuses on a class of positive linear operators of S–Szasz type; we establish some direct results, which include Voronovskaja type asymptotic formula for a sequence of summation–integral type, we find a recurrence relation of the -the order moment and the convergence theorem for this sequence. Finally, we give some figures
