A method to multi-attribute decision making with picture fuzzy information based on Muirhead mean
The recently proposed picture fuzzy set (PFS) is a powerful tool for handling fuzziness and uncertainty. PFS is character-ized by a positive membership degree, a neutral membership degree, and a negative membership degree, making it more suitable and useful than the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) when dealing with multi-attribute decision making (MADM). The aim of this paper is to develop some aggregation operators for fusing picture fuzzy information. Considering the Muirhead mean (MM) is an aggregation technology which can consider the interrelationship among all aggregated ar-guments, we extend MM to picture fuzzy context and propose a family of picture fuzzy Muirhead mean operators. In addition, we investigate some properties and special cases of the proposed operators. Further, we develop a novel meth-od to MADM in which the attribute values take the form of picture fuzzy numbers (PFNs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed method
City Sustainable Development Evaluation Based on Hesitant Multiplicative Fuzzy Information
Sustainable development evaluation is the basis of city sustainable development research, and effective evaluation is the foundation for guiding the formulation and implementation of sustainable development strategy. In this paper, we provided a new city sustainable development evaluation method called hesitant multiplicative fuzzy TODIM (HMF-TODIM). The main advantage of this method is that it can deal with the subjective preference information of the decision-makers. The comparison study of existing methods and HMF-TODIM is also carried out. Additionally, real case analysis is presented to show the validity and superiority of the proposed method. Research results in this paper can provide useful information for the construction of sustainable cities
Supplier evaluation and selection in fuzzy environments: a review of MADM approaches
In past years, the multi-attribute decision-making (MADM)
approaches have been extensively applied by researchers to the
supplier evaluation and selection problem. Many of these studies
were performed in an uncertain environment described by fuzzy sets.
This study provides a review of applications of MADM approaches
for evaluation and selection of suppliers in a fuzzy environment. To
this aim, a total of 339 publications were examined, including papers
in peer-reviewed journals and reputable conferences and also some
book chapters over the period of 2001 to 2016. These publications
were extracted from many online databases and classified in some
categories and subcategories according to the MADM approaches,
and then they were analysed based on the frequency of approaches,
number of citations, year of publication, country of origin and
publishing journals. The results of this study show that the AHP and
TOPSIS methods are the most popular approaches. Moreover, China
and Taiwan are the top countries in terms of number of publications
and number of citations, respectively. The top three journals with
highest number of publications were: Expert Systems with Applications,
International Journal of Production Research and The International

Fuzzy Techniques for Decision Making 2018
Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches. Their ranges vary from fundamental or technical to applied approaches
Dual hesitant fuzzy group decision making method and its application to supplier selection
The concept of dual hesitant fuzzy set arising from hesitant fuzzy set is generalized by including a function reflecting the decision maker’s fuzziness about the non-membership degree of the information provided. This paper studies some dual hesitant fuzzy information aggregation operators for aggregating dual hesitant fuzzy elements, such as dual hesitant fuzzy Heronian mean operator and dual hesitant fuzzy geometric Heronian mean operator. The research resulting dual hesitant fuzzy information aggregation operators finds an important role in group decision making (GDM) applications. It can fusion the experts’ opinion to the comprehensive ones and based on which an optimal decision making scheme can be determined. The properties of the proposed operators are studied and the application on GDM are investigated. The effectiveness of the GDM method is demonstrated on the case study about supplier selection
