Kata Kunci: Pengembangan Media CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction)   ABSTRACT   The computer has grown rapidly and used widely in the sector of human life, including of the education sector as a learning media. Instructional media is media that utilizes computer CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction). One of the schools that needs to use the media CAI is SMP 2 Sampang. The availability of an existing computer lab not fully utilized for teaching and learning process. Teachers only use props, and print media such as posters and textbooks . The purpose of media development CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) is aslearning tool that can be used by the teacher in the learning process. It isto enhance the students' understanding of the subject matter. Development model which is used in this research is the model development (R&D), CAI media is tested for the eighth graders at SMP 2 Sampang for Biology subjects with Topic Motion System in Humans. Data was collected through validation of matter specialists, validation of media specialists, and students. To find out the results of an evaluation of student learning in the form of tests, they are pre - test and post - test. Analysis of the data which is used to analyze the result of interview data of material specialists and media specialists in the form of checklists and questionnaires is by using all aspects of engineering calculations (PSA) and calculation techniques for all Programs (PSP). However, to analyze the result of student learning outcomes is by using the results of the comparison of pre-test and post-test students using t-test formula. Data obtained from the test results in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data. From the analysis of the data is 93.8 matter specialists (very good), to 75.6 media specialists (good), for one -on-one test is 95.3 (very good), to small group trials was 94.3 (very good), to test a large group was 94.4 (very good). While the results of the value of the pre - test and post - test analysis technique t test is t value (37.10) > t table (1.725). From these data, it can be concluded that the media CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) with the Topic Motion Systems In Humans on Biology subject for the eighth graders has been feasible and effective to use as a media for teacher learning as a tool in teaching and learning to improve student achievement. E/Valuating new media in language development

    Get PDF
This paper addresses the need for a new approach to the educational evaluation of software that falls under the rubric "new media" or "multimedia" as distinct from previous generations of Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) software. The authors argue that present approaches to CALL software evaluation are not appropriate for a new genre of CALL software distinguished by its shared assumptions about language learning and teaching as well as by its technical design. The paper sketches a research-based program called "E/Valuation" that aims to assist language educators to answer questions about the educational effectiveness of recent multimedia language learning software. The authors suggest that such program needs to take into account not only the nature of the new media and its potential to promote language learning in novel ways, but also current professional knowledge about language learning and teaching

This report explored teaching practices, beliefs and teaching styles and their influences on ICT use and implementation by pupils. Additional factors explored included the value of school and LEA policies and teacher competence in the use of ICT in classroom settings. ImpaCT2 was a major longitudinal study (1999-2002) involving 60 schools in England, its aims were to: identify the impact of networked technologies on the school and out-of-school environment; determine whether or not this impact affected the educational attainment of pupils aged 816 years (at Key Stages 2, 3, and 4); and provide information that would assist in the formation of national, local and school policies on the deployment of IC

Evaluation of World Wide Web-based Lessons for a First Year Dental Biochemistry Course

First year dental students at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston (Dental Branch) are required to take a basic biochemistry course. To facilitate learning and allow student self-assessment of their progress, WWW-based lessons covering intermediary metabolism were developed as a supplement to traditional lectures. Lesson design combined text, graphics, and animations and included learner control, links to other learning resources, and practice exercises and exams with immediate feedback. Results from an on-line questionnaire completed by students in two different classes showed that they completed 50% of the lessons and spent an average of 4 hrs. on-line. A majority of the students either agreed or strongly agreed that practice exercises were helpful, that the ability to control the pace of the lessons was important, that the lesson structure and presentation was easy to follow, that the illustrations, animations, and hyperlinks were helpful, and that the lessons were effective as a review. The very positive response to the WWW-based lessons indicates the usefulness of this approach as a study aid for dental students

On-The-Job Training, developed as direct instruction, is one of the earliest forms of training. This method is still widely in use today because it requires only a person who knows how to do the task, and the tools the person uses to do the task. This paper is intended to be a study of the methods used in education in Knowledge Society, with more specific aspects in training the trainers; as a result of this approach, it promotes scaffolding in assisted instruction as a reflection of the digital age for the learning process. Training the trainers in old environment with default techniques and designing the learning process in assisted instruction, as an application of the Vygotskian concept of the zone of proximal development (ZPD) to the area of computer literacy for the younger users, generate diversity in educational communities and requires standards for technology infrastructure, standards for the content, developed as a concepts map, and applications for personalized in-struction, based on ZPD theory.cognitive infrastructure, pyramid of concepts, concepts map, Bloom's taxonomy for cognitive domain
