La ICU de su instrumento EPD corre su software de aplicación en RTEMS, el cual se ha demostrado que es confiable. Sin embargo, podemos tratar de mejorarlo desarrollando un puerto en FreeRTOS, el cual es más popular y puede proporcionar más escalabilidad. Este software correrá en una novedosa arquitectura llamada RISC-V. Para lograr esto, construiremos un prototipo y lo probaremos en la placa RV32M1-VEGA desarrollada por OpenISA.Solar Orbiter is an ambitious project developed by the European Space Agency which aims to investigate our sun more closely. Its Energetic Particle Detector ICU runs its application software with RTEMS, which is proven to be reliable. However, we aim to potentially improve it by building a port in FreeRTOS, which is a more popular and scalable RTOS and testing this software in a modern hardware architecture called RISC-V which is lightweight and fast.     Body composition, or the proportion of fat, muscle, and bone of an individual\u27s body, is an important indication of health status. Numerous techniques can be used to assess body composition, producing varied results and measurements. For individuals with insufficient or excessive amounts of body fat, accurate assessment of body composition is crucial. Two commonly used techniques for measuring body composition are air displacement plethysmography (adp) and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (dxa). Past research has been conducted, comparing adp and dxa, but the results are inconsistent. The majority of past studies found that, when compared to dxa, adp underestimated body fat percentage, but a few studies found that adp overestimated body fat percentage. Additionally, majority of the past studies have focused on ideal weight, overweight, and obese adults, with little research on body composition of athletes. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether body fat percentages obtained by adp and dxa statistically differ from one another, specifically in a lean population. Ninety-three collegiate student athletes participating in Division I NCAA sports participated in the study. Subjects underwent a bod pod and dxa scan, measuring their body composition. Body fat measures were then analyzed using spss. Paired-sample t-tests were conducted, comparing body fat percentage estimates from adp and dxa. Box plots and bland-altman plots were also created to display data. Results shothat body fat percentages obtained by adp were significantly lower than body fat percentages obtained by dxa, with the difference being greater in leaner individuals. These results are consistent with the majority of past research, which states that adp underestimates body fat percentage when compared to dxa. Clinicians should consider this discrepancy between adp and dxa for deciding which equipment to use when making clinical decions regarding student athletes\u27 health or participation status

    Visualizing networked writing activity

    In conjunction with the Honors Fellow program and two faculty advisors from both the English and Computer Science departments, another student and I have written software to visualize how participants collaborate on networked writing projects. Using Google Docs as a way to allow students to instantaneously interact with a document in real-time, this software captures data from Google's cloud service and displays it in a pair of visualizations. We used agile methods of software development to devise a way to implement their ideas in an appealing way. This document contains detailed instructions on where the latest iteration of the software can be located. It also details the process of making the system operational on a new machine, stating how the software works and where it should be placed in the file system. The document also explains how one can use the system to visualize writing collaboration. Finally, many failed iterations of the software have led to meaningful reflections on software development practices. The document serves as a technical report for the software, but also elaborates on the hardships of development, as well as provides insight on how this software may evolve toward richer experiences.     The multihundred kilowatt electrical power aspects of a mannable space platform in low Earth orbit is analyzed from a cost and technology viewpoint. At the projected orbital altitudes, Shuttle launch and servicing are technically and economically viable. Power generation is specified as photovoltaic consistent with projected planning. The cost models and trades are based upon a zero interest rate (the government taxes concurrently as required), constant dollars (1980), and costs derived in the first half of 1980. Space platform utilization of up to 30 years is evaluated to fully understand the impact of resupply and replacement as satellite missions are extended. Such lifetimes are potentially realizable with Shuttle servicing capability and are economically desirable

    How Usability Defects Defer from Non-Usability Defects? : A Case Study on Open Source Projects

    Usability is one of the software qualities attributes that is subjective and often considered as a less critical defect to be fixed. One of the reasons was due to the vague defect descriptions that could not convince developers about the validity of usability issues. Producing a comprehensive usability defect description can be a challenging task, especially in reporting relevant and important information. Prior research in improving defect report comprehension has often focused on defects in general or studied various aspects of software quality improvement such as triaging defect reports, metrics and predictions, automatic defect detection and fixing.  In this paper, we studied 2241 usability and non-usability defects from three open-source projects - Mozilla Thunderbird, Firefox for Android, and Eclipse Platform. We examined the presence of eight defect attributes - steps to reproduce, impact, software context, expected output, actual output, assume cause, solution proposal, and supplementary information, and used various statistical tests to answer the research questions. In general, we found that usability defects are resolved slower than non-usability defects, even for non-usability defect reports that have less information. In terms of defect report content, usability defects often contain output details and software context while non-usability defects are preferably explained using supplementary information, such as stack traces and error logs. Our research findings extend the body of knowledge of software defect reporting, especially in understanding the characteristics of usability defects. The promising results also may be valuable to improve software development practitioners' practice

    Kuksa*: Self-Adaptive Microservices in Automotive Systems

    In pervasive dynamic environments, vehicles connect to other objects to send operational data and receive updates so that vehicular applications can provide services to users on demand. Automotive systems should be self-adaptive, thereby they can make real-time decisions based on changing operating conditions. Emerging modern solutions, such as microservices could improve self-adaptation capabilities and ensure higher levels of quality performance in many domains. We employed a real-world automotive platform called Eclipse Kuksa to propose a framework based on microservices architecture to enhance the self-adaptation capabilities of automotive systems for runtime data analysis. To evaluate the designed solution, we conducted an experiment in an automotive laboratory setting where our solution was implemented as a microservice-based adaptation engine and integrated with other Eclipse Kuksa components. The results of our study indicate the importance of design trade-offs for quality requirements' satisfaction levels of each microservices and the whole system for the optimal performance of an adaptive system at runtime
