MICROBIOLOGICAL SURVEY ON JELLYFISH FOOD PRODUCTS: PRELIMINARY RESULTS

    Get PDF
A microbiological survey was performed on ten brined jellyfish products, sampled in Italy from Chinese food markets. In general, the microbiological conditions were good and respected the standards contemplated in the regulations CE 2073/2005 e 1441/2007. The presence of inhibiting substances and the absence of aerobic mesophilic bacteria in two samples suggest a treatment to preserve the product

La adicción a las compras online. Una nueva patología de consumo

    Get PDF

The Basic Dynamics of the Stock of Money and Capital

    Get PDF
We present in this paper a model that explains the role of the external financing of capital in the evolution of a primitive economy constituted by families and firms. Our aim is to clarify which are the essential financial elements that in more complex and advanced economies could explain the evolution of their financial structures towards fragility. Now we begin studying the stability of the financial structure of a rudimentary economy with endogenous money.

    Higher Spin Entanglement Entropy

In this paper, we develop a perturbation formulation to calculate the single interval higher spin Reˊ\acute{e}nyi and entanglement entropy for two dimensional conformal field theory with W(λ)\mathcal{W}_{\infty}(\lambda) symmetry. The system is at finite temperature and is deformed by higher spin chemical potential. We manage to compute higher spin Reˊ\acute{e}nyi entropy with various spin deformations up to order O(μ2)\mathcal{O}(\mu^2). For spin 3 deformation, we calculate exact higher spin Reˊ\acute{e}nyi entropy up to O(μ4)\mathcal{O}(\mu^4). When λ=3\lambda=3, in the large cc limit, we find perfect match with tree level holographic higher spin entanglement entropy up to order μ4\mu^4 obtained by the Wilson line prescription. We also find quantum corrections to higher spin entanglement entropy which is beyond tree level holographic results. The quantum correction is universal at order μ4\mu^4 in the sense that it is independent of λ\lambda. Our computation relies on a multi-valued conformal map from nn-sheeted Riemann surface Rn\mathcal{R}_n to complex plane and correlation functions of primary fields on complex plane. The method can be applied to general conformal field theories with W\mathcal{W} symmetry.Comment: 49 pages,1 figure, to be published in JHE

A FIB-SEM Based Correlative Methodology for X-Ray Nanotomography and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry: An Application Example in Lithium Batteries Research

    Get PDF
Correlative microscopy approaches are attracting considerable interest in several research fields such as materials and battery research. Recent developments regarding X-ray computer tomography have made this technique available in a compact module for scanning electron microscopes (SEMs). Nano-computed tomography (nanoCT) allows morphological analysis of samples in a nondestructive way and to generate 2D and 3D overviews. However, morphological analysis alone is not sufficient for advanced studies, and to draw conclusions beyond morphology, chemical analysis is needed. While conventional SEM-based chemical analysis techniques such as energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) are adequate in many cases, they are not well suited for the analysis of trace elements and low-Z elements such as hydrogen or lithium. Furthermore, the large information depth in typical SEM-EDS imaging conditions limits the lateral resolution to micrometer length scales. In contrast, secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) can perform elemental mapping with good surface sensitivity, nanoscale lateral resolution, and the possibility to analyze even low-Z elements and isotopes. In this study, we demonstrate the feasibility and compatibility of a novel FIB-SEM-based correlative nanoCT-SIMS imaging approach to correlate morphological and chemical data of the exact same sample volume, using a cathode material of a commercial lithium battery as an example

SISTEM TOMOGRAFI KOMPUTER DENGAN EMISI SINAR GAMMA UNTUK APLIKASI LABORATORIUM

    Get PDF

Classification of Pathological Stage of Prostate Cancer Patients Using Penalized Splines

    Get PDF
We propose a penalized splines based method to predict the pathological stage of localized prostate cancer. A combination of prostate specific antigen, Gleason histological score, and clinical stage from a cohort study of 834 prostate cancer patients are used to build the penalized splines model. It turns out that the proposed methodology results in improved prediction of pathological stage compared to usual logistic regression after removing a few outliers. The improvement is shown to be statistically significant. Receiver operating characteristic curve is drawn and we show that the increase in area under the ROC curve over the commonly used logistic regression based classification method is also statistically significant.

The present paper reports the first records of two moss species, Orthotrichum obtusifolium Brid. and Dicranoweisia cirrata (Hedw.) Lindb., in the flora of Montenegro. The mosses were found in the Tepacki kraj area on Mt Durmitor. Some morphological features, the ecological characteristics and the distribution of the species are given, along with photographs of diagnostic details and their threat status in the countries of SE Europe
