    Saat ini, penggunaan internet dan media sosial sangat masif di kalangan remaja akhir. Seiring terpaparnya remaja akhir terhadap konten media sosial maka semakin mempengaruhi remaja akhir dalam perilaku pengambilan risiko yang dipaparkan di media sosial. Untuk itu, literasi media diperlukan agar remaja akhir dapat terhindar dari perilaku pengambilan risiko yang tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh literasi media terhadap perilaku pengambilan risiko pada remaja akhir. Metode penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif yang dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 200 orang remaja akhir dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel cluster sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Adolescent Risk-Taking Questionnaire (ARQ) dan New Media Literacy Scale (NMLS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa literasi media berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku pengambilan risiko pada remaja akhir sebesar 66%

    Who are the users of ChatGPT? Implications for the digital divide from web tracking data

    A major challenge of our time is reducing disparities in access to and effective use of digital technologies, with recent discussions highlighting the role of AI in exacerbating the digital divide. We examine user characteristics that predict usage of the AI-powered conversational agent ChatGPT. We combine web tracking and survey data of N=1068 German citizens to investigate differences in activity (usage, visits and duration on chat.openai.com). We examine socio-demographics commonly associated with the digital divide and explore further socio-political attributes identified via stability selection in Lasso regressions. We confirm lower age and more education to affect ChatGPT usage, but not gender and income. We find full-time employment and more children to be barriers to ChatGPT activity. Rural residence, writing and social media activities, as well as more political knowledge, were positively associated with ChatGPT activity. Our research informs efforts to address digital disparities and promote digital literacy among underserved populations

    A tool for assesing multiliteracy in higher educacation

    This study describes the premises underlying Voremetur, a project conducted in the context of higher educa-tion. It hypothesises the need to support a competence education method adapted to new educational formulas (from e-to m-learning), new educational challenges (e-science, big data) and the convergent competences now characterised as info-communication literacy, which has favoured the transition from edu-communication to multiliteracy. Such competences should be organised into competence programmes, where the assessment of the beneficial results for learners and the university should be included as an essential element. The article discusses an assessment model for new literacies, including its conceptual framework, ideal evaluation tools and conversion into an ad hoc questionnaire.     Peningkatan pengguna Internet di Indonesia menjadi petanda baik bahwa akses masyarakat ke Internet semakin baik. Akan tetapi, peningkatan tersebut juga menimbulkan kekhawatiran terkait kesiapan masyarakat dalam berinteraksi di media sosial. Saat ini, media sosial tidak lagi menjadi ruang publik yang netral karena adannya penyalahgunaan oleh kelompok tertentu dengan menyebarkan berita palsu, propaganda, hate spin, dan lain-lain. Situasi ini diperparah dengan tingkat literasi media masyarakat yang rendah. Pemerintah mengeluarkan Undang-Undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (UU ITE) guna mengatur kegaduhan di media sosial. Namun, tindakan ini menuai banyak kritikan dari berbagai kalangan. Salah satunya terkait efek samping (berupa chilling effect) dari UU ITE yang dapat mengancam kebebasan berpendapat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh literasi media pada partisipasi politik di media sosial serta mengetahui apakah pengetahuan terkait UU ITE memoderasi pengaruh tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik sampling purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang kemudian dianalis menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat literasi media yang tinggi terutama pada kategori functional consumption, critical consumption, functional prosumer. Tidak ada perbedaan tingkat literasi media antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Peningkatan keterampilan literasi media tersebut akan diikuti oleh peningkatan partisipasi politik. Akan tetapi, pengetahuan terkait UU ITE tidak berkontribusi pada pengaruh tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian juga menemukan bahwa keterampilan critical consuming dan critical prosumer memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan partisipasi politik di media sosial

    Berkembang pesatnya penyebaran informasi pada saat ini dipengaruhi oleh salah satu faktor yaitu adanya kemajuan teknologi, terlebih pada teknologi informasi yang pergerakannya cepat dan terus berubah, salah satunya dengan adanya media sosial yang terbilang berpengaruh kepada bagaimana manusia atau individu dalam beraktivitas khususnya dalam hal mencari informasi. Dan media sosial yang dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu sumber informasi ini adalah Twitter dan fenomena yang terjadi pada saat ini ada yang disebut Autobase atau auto-matic base yang ada di twitter dimana Autobase tersebut digunakan sebagai wadah para Pengikut akunya untuk mengirim pertanyaan yang bersifat anonym mengenai topik tertentu dan penelitian ini akan mengkaji salah satu akun autobase Twitter yaitu @Literarybase. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana Manajemen Informasi Pribadi Pengikut Akun Twitter @Literarybase dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi seputar koleksi buku. Kurangnya pengetahuan dengan pasti mengenai kebutuhan informasi yang dimiliki dalam penggunaan twitter ini dijadikan salah satu alasan untuk meneliti bagaimana manajemen informasi pribadi yang dilakukan oleh para pengikut akun twitter @Literarybase dalam pemenuhan informasinya baik dari Penciptaan Informasi, Pengorganisasian Informasi dan Penyimpanan Informasi yang dilakukannya. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Pendekatan Kuantitatif yang dipaparkan secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan Angket sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Dengan mengambil sebanyak 99 sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Manajemen Informasi Pribadi yang dilakukan oleh pengikut akun twitter @Literarybase ini sudah berjalan dengan sangat baik, termasuk dalam kegiatan Penciptaan Informasi yang ada pada kategori sangat baik, dan Pengorganisasian Informasi serta Penyimpanan Informasi ada pada kategori baik. The rapid development of the dissemination of information at this time is influenced by one factor, namely the existence of technological advances, especially in information technology which moves quickly and constantly changes, one of which is the existence of social media which is said to influence how humans or individuals carry out their activities, especially in terms of seeking information. And social media that can be used as a source of this information is Twitter and the phenomenon that is happening at this time is called Autobase or auto-matic base on Twitter where Autobase is used as a forum for Followers of their account to send anonymous questions about certain topic and this research will examine one of the Twitter autobase accounts, namely @Literarybase. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Personal Information Management of Twitter Account Followers @Literarybase fulfills the information needs about book collections. This lack of definite knowledge regarding the information needs of Twitter users is used as one of the reasons for examining how personal information management is carried out by followers of the Twitter account @Literarybase in fulfilling their information both from Information Creation, Information Organization and Information Storage. The research method used in this study is a quantitative approach which is described descriptively by using a questionnaire as a data collection technique. By taking as many as 99 samples. The results of this study indicate that Personal Information Management carried out by followers of the Twitter account @Literarybase has been going very well, including Information Creation activities which are in the very good category, and Information Organizing and Information Storage are in the good category

    The paper presents partial results of the project KEGA No. 026EU-4/2021 “Development of Global Business Literacy of Students of Economics and Management” in the frame of the granting program of the Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and Slovak Academy of Sciences.Young people in today ́s interconnected world are expected to be globally literate in order to be able to effectively solve situations in different cultural environments. This is particularly true for students, who in their studies focus on economics, marketing and management, since business environment in which they are supposed to operate, is highly globalized. At the same time, globally literate people should be media literate and be willing to cope with unfamiliar environments and situations. Hence, within this paper, we focus on the evaluation of global business literacy, conscious media use and risk- taking attitude of the students of master's degree study programs at the Faculty of Business Economy of the University of Economics in Bratislava, with seat in Košice. The evaluation was conducted using online questionnaire. The aim of the paper is to identify differences in the level of global business literacy, conscious media use and risk-taking attitude between groups of students who attend different study programs as well as between men and women. The results provide feedback for adjustment of the structure and content of the respective study programs so that these are more focused on the development of global business literacy

    Engineers are educated and trained to take the lead in sustainable development, tackling worldwide difficulties like depletion of natural resources, contamination, fast-growing populations, and ecological degradation. The relevance of government entities dealing with sustainable development is linked to the societal problem of future education. While all social-economical and/or technical variables play a role in determining the outlook in which each competence originates, novel-adaptive thinking, social intelligence, design mentality, and sense-making, social imagination (cross-sectoral fertilization), cognitive load management, virtual collaboration and networking, and novel media literacy suggest representing crucial drivers for the development of each ability. An extensive selection of continuing education programs enables graduates to improve subject-specific skills and extend their professional networks, with the objective of preparing motivated and highly-trained professionals for the job market. It is feasible to achieve the aim of a sustainable engineering future by recognizing the relevance of these criteria, comprehending, and adequately fulfilling them

    Show or tell? A systematic review of media and information literacy measurements

    Media and information literacy (MIL) is a key concept in several research fields and measuring the levels of MIL is considered valuable for policy stakeholders. However, the concept is complex, and few systematic reviews of research on measuring MIL levels have been conducted. This article draws on a systematic review of peer-reviewed studies measuring MIL between 2000 and 2021. Out of a total of 4008 publications, 236 were included in the analysis, and 87 were analysed in depth. A key finding was that several studies applied broad understandings of MIL, often based on initiatives by international organisations such as UNESCO, Ofcom, and EAVI. The main measuring methods in the studies were self-evaluations, knowledge claims, and demonstrated skills, all with associated possibilities and challenges. Few studies have been systematically replicated, and few have mapped larger population groups, while socio-demographic aspects have often been underestimated

    Medya Okuryazarlık Düzeyi ile Finansal Okuryazarlık Düzeyi Arasındaki İlişkinin Tespitine Yönelik Ampirik Bir Çalışma

    Bu çalışmanın amacı finansal okuryazarlık düzeyi ile medya okuryazarlığı düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmektir. Söz konusu amaç doğrultusunda; çalışmada, Doğan (2018)’ın iki farklı boyuttan oluşan finansal okuryazarlık ölçeği ile Koç ve Barut (2016)’un üç farklı boyuttan oluşan medya okuryazarlık ölçekleri birleştirilerek kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, üniversite öğrencileri üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiş olup 302 katılımcı araştırmaya dahil olmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda, finansal okuryazarlık düzeyi ile medya okuryazarlık düzeyi arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Bu ilişki her iki ölçeğin tüm alt boyutlarında geçerlidir. Ayrıca katılımcıların kendisini girişimci olarak tanımlamasının finansal okuryazarlık düzeyini etkilediği, buna karşın katılımcıların alacak oldukları kararlarda ebeveynlerinin etkili olup olmamasının finansal okuryazarlık düzeyleri üzerinde herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığı yine çalışma sonucunda tespit edilmiştir
