Nonlinear Systems
Open Mathematics is a challenging notion for theoretical modeling, technical analysis, and numerical simulation in physics and mathematics, as well as in many other fields, as highly correlated nonlinear phenomena, evolving over a large range of time scales and length scales, control the underlying systems and processes in their spatiotemporal evolution. Indeed, available data, be they physical, biological, or financial, and technologically complex systems and stochastic systems, such as mechanical or electronic devices, can be managed from the same conceptual approach, both analytically and through computer simulation, using effective nonlinear dynamics methods. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight papers that show the dynamics, control, optimization and applications of nonlinear systems. This has recently become an increasingly popular subject, with impressive growth concerning applications in engineering, economics, biology, and medicine, and can be considered a veritable contribution to the literature. Original papers relating to the objective presented above are especially welcome subjects. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: Stability analysis of discrete and continuous dynamical systems; Nonlinear dynamics in biological complex systems; Stability and stabilization of stochastic systems; Mathematical models in statistics and probability; Synchronization of oscillators and chaotic systems; Optimization methods of complex systems; Reliability modeling and system optimization; Computation and control over networked systems
Stability of reaction–diffusion systems with stochastic switching
oai:ojs.www4063.vu.lt:article/12877In this paper, we investigate the stability for reaction systems with stochastic switching. Two types of switched models are considered: (i) Markov switching and (ii) independent and identically distributed switching. By means of the ergodic property of Markov chain, Dynkin formula and Fubini theorem, together with the Lyapunov direct method, some sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure that the zero solution of reaction–diffusion systems with Markov switching is almost surely exponential stable or exponentially stable in the mean square. By using Theorem 7.3 in [R. Durrett, Probability: Theory and Examples, Duxbury Press, Belmont, CA, 2005], we also investigate the stability of reaction–diffusion systems with independent and identically distributed switching. Meanwhile, an example with simulations is provided to certify that the stochastic switching plays an essential role in the stability of systems
Stability analysis for continuous-time switched systems with stochastic switching signals
This paper is concerned with the stability problem of randomly switched systems. By using the probability analysis method, the almost surely globally asymptotical stability and almost surely exponential stability are investigated for switched systems with semi-Markovian switching, Markovian switching and renewal process switching signals, respectively. Two examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results, in which an example of consensus of multi-agent systems with nonlinear dynamics is taken into account
Finite-Time Boundedness of Impulsive Delayed Reaction–Diffusion Stochastic Neural Networks
Considering the impulsive delayed reaction–diffusion stochastic neural networks (IDRDSNNs) with hybrid impulses, the finite-time boundedness (FTB) and finite-time contractive boundedness (FTCB) are investigated in this article. First, a novel delay integral inequality is presented. By integrating this inequality with the comparison principle, some sufficient conditions that ensure the FTB and FTCB of IDRDSNNs are obtained. This study demonstrates that the FTB of neural networks with hybrid impulses can be maintained, even in the presence of impulsive perturbations. And for a system that is not FTB due to impulsive perturbations, achieving FTB is possible through the implementation of appropriate impulsive control and optimization of the average impulsive intervals. In addition, to validate the practicality of our results, three illustrative examples are provided. In the end, these theoretical findings are successfully applied to image encryption.</p

Sufficient Conditions for Polynomial Asymptotic Behaviour of the Stochastic Pantograph Equation
This paper studies the asymptotic growth and decay properties of solutions of
the stochastic pantograph equation with multiplicative noise. We give
sufficient conditions on the parameters for solutions to grow at a polynomial
rate in -th mean and in the almost sure sense. Under stronger conditions the
solutions decay to zero with a polynomial rate in -th mean and in the almost
sure sense. When polynomial bounds cannot be achieved, we show for a different
set of parameters that exponential growth bounds of solutions in -th mean
and an almost sure sense can be obtained. Analogous results are established for
pantograph equations with several delays, and for general finite dimensional
equations.Comment: 29 pages, to appear Electronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of

Robust Controller for Delays and Packet Dropout Avoidance in Solar-Power Wireless Network
Solar Wireless Networked Control Systems (SWNCS) are a style of distributed control systems where sensors, actuators, and controllers are interconnected via a wireless communication network. This system setup has the benefit of low cost, flexibility, low weight, no wiring and simplicity of system diagnoses and maintenance. However, it also unavoidably calls some wireless network time delays and packet dropout into the design procedure. Solar lighting system offers a clean environment, therefore able to continue for a long period. SWNCS also offers multi Service infrastructure solution for both developed and undeveloped countries. The system provides wireless controller lighting, wireless communications network (WI-FI/WIMAX), CCTV surveillance, and wireless sensor for weather measurement which are all powered by solar energy
Event-based state estimation for a class of complex networks with time-varying delays: A comparison principle approach
The paper is concerned with the state estimation problem for a class of time-delayed complex networks with event-triggering communication protocol. A novel event generator function, which is dependent not only on the measurement output but also on a predefined positive constant, is proposed with hope to reduce the communication burden. A new concept of exponentially ultimate boundedness is provided to quantify the estimation performance. By means of the comparison principle, some sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the estimation error is exponentially ultimately bounded, and then the estimator gains are obtained in terms of the solution of certain matrix inequalities. Furthermore, a rigorous proof is proposed to show that the designed triggering condition is free of the Zeno behavior. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed event-based estimator
