Specifically, the stochastic bilinear jump system under study involves unknown state time-delay, parameter uncertainties, and unknown nonlinear deterministic disturbances. The jumping parameters considered here form a continuous-time discrete-state homogeneous Markov process. The whole system may be regarded as a stochastic bilinear hybrid system that includes both time-evolving and event-driven mechanisms. Our attention is focused on the design of a robust state-feedback controller such that, for all admissible uncertainties as well as nonlinear disturbances, the closed-loop system is stochastically exponentially stable in the mean square, independent of the time delay. Sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the existence of desired robust controllers, which are given in terms of the solutions to a set of either linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), or coupled quadratic matrix inequalities. Control Strategies for the Fokker-Planck Equation
Using a projection-based decoupling of the Fokker-Planck equation, control
strategies that allow to speed up the convergence to the stationary
distribution are investigated. By means of an operator theoretic framework for
a bilinear control system, two different feedback control laws are proposed.
Projected Riccati and Lyapunov equations are derived and properties of the
associated solutions are given. The well-posedness of the closed loop systems
is shown and local and global stabilization results, respectively, are
obtained. An essential tool in the construction of the controls is the choice
of appropriate control shape functions. Results for a two dimensional double
well potential illustrate the theoretical findings in a numerical setup

unbounded control operators. Natural sufficient conditions for integral
input-to-state stability are given. The obtained results are applied to a

This paper presents a survey on quantum control theory and applications from
a control systems perspective. Some of the basic concepts and main developments
(including open-loop control and closed-loop control) in quantum control theory
are reviewed. In the area of open-loop quantum control, the paper surveys the
notion of controllability for quantum systems and presents several control
design strategies including optimal control, Lyapunov-based methodologies,
variable structure control and quantum incoherent control. In the area of
closed-loop quantum control, the paper reviews closed-loop learning control and
several important issues related to quantum feedback control including quantum
