    Towards a pivotal-based approach for business process alignment.

    This article focuses on business process engineering, especially on alignment between business analysis and implementation. Through a business process management approach, different transformations interfere with process models in order to make them executable. To keep the consistency of process model from business model to IT model, we propose a pivotal metamodel-centric methodology. It aims at keeping or giving all requisite structural and semantic data needed to perform such transformations without loss of information. Through this we can ensure the alignment between business and IT. This article describes the concept of pivotal metamodel and proposes a methodology using such an approach.     How to achieve dynamic and flexible performance management systems for collaborative processes

    [EN] One of the main characteristics of successful collaborative networks is their ability to continuously reformulating their processes. The, they can quickly get adapted to environment needs and therefore define more competitive processes. One of biggest weaknesses of Performance Management Systems (PMS) when dealing with collaborative processes associated to collaborative networks, is their low degree of both dynamicity and flexibility to get adapted to the changes that such collaborative processes experiment. The main changes that can take place are, among others, small or large modifications of the own processes, entrance and/or exit of new participants in the process, incorporation and/or elimination of processes, changes in objectives and/or strategies of processes of some participant, or even of the whole collaborative network, etc. All this brings continuous modifications over the components that conform the PMS. Then, it is necessary to structure certain mechanisms that will provide with both dynamicity and flexibility to the PMS. Otherwise, these PMS will become obsolete in the short-time and will be not useful anymore. Further, these PMS will not measure properly performance and then they will become ineffective, becoming the source of troubles. Scientific literature shows that most of the works that deal with PMS dynamicity and flexibility are focused on intra-organizational contexts, leaving almost apart the collaborative networks ambit. This work analyses those aspects that prevent to the PMS to be dynamic and flexible when applied to manage the performance of collaborative networks.     Alignment of balanced scorecard perspectives with supply chain management objectives: a literature review

    Having in view the fast diffusion of the Balanced Scorecard since its development in the 1990s, as well as your application in various industrial sectors, this paper aims to present a literature review on the alignment of this performance measurement system with the Supply Chain Management. This research was motivated by the finding of an increase in the annual number of papers published over the years. Through a literature review 43 papers related to the theme were localized in databases SCIELO, SCOPUS and Web of Science. Key metrics, methodological procedures most used for developing the papers localized, benefits and limitations of using the system, as well as research gaps indicated for future works are presented. The main contribution of this research focuses on condense into a single material, an overview of the assessment methods of Supply Chain Management based on the Balanced Scorecard perspectives. Several metrics have been proposed for the development of this performance measurement system, encompassing other perspectives beyond the four traditional BSC perspectives

    Towards a crisis performance-measurement system

    International audienceDuring a crisis, the main goal for decision-makers consists in restoring a stabilised nominal mode. The stakeholders face considerable pressure and drastic constraints in response time and coordination. This study proposes a method to support these stakeholders in making responsive and accurate decisions while carrying out a performance evaluation of the activities that run during the crisis-response process. This method is composed of four steps: (1) characterisation of the crisis-response system, (2) selection of system components to evaluate in priority, (3) determination of performance dimensions to consider and (4) creation of indicators. Currently, performance evaluation is only used subsequent to a crisis, due to difficulties in gathering and aggregating information into trustable performance indicators. This paper proposes a method to obtain a relevant and dynamic decision-support system. Decision-makers will use it to resolve the crisis based on performance evaluation, in addition to the essential experience they undergo. A case study of crisis management within the French Red Cross non-governmental organisation is developed, through a Web-based prototype, in order to explain how performance indicators can both support crisis-response management and improve the collaboration of stakeholders

    Business process performance measurement : a structured literature review of indicators, measures and metrics

    Measuring the performance of business processes has become a central issue in both academia and business, since organizations are challenged to achieve effective and efficient results. Applying performance measurement models to this purpose ensures alignment with a business strategy, which implies that the choice of performance indicators is organization-dependent. Nonetheless, such measurement models generally suffer from a lack of guidance regarding the performance indicators that exist and how they can be concretized in practice. To fill this gap, we conducted a structured literature review to find patterns or trends in the research on business process performance measurement. The study also documents an extended list of 140 process-related performance indicators in a systematic manner by further categorizing them into 11 performance perspectives in order to gain a holistic view. Managers and scholars can consult the provided list to choose the indicators that are of interest to them, considering each perspective. The structured literature review concludes with avenues for further research

    Tuloksellisuusinformaatio tuloksellisuusdialogin käynnistäjänä kuntajohtamisessa

    Tutkimuksessa analysoidaan kolmen suomalaisen kunnan tuloksellisuudesta käytävän keskustelun käytänteitä sekä tuloksellisuustiedon hyödyntämistä suunnittelun ja päätöksenteon tukena. Kohdeorganisaatioina ovat Turun kaupungin varhaiskasvatus, Tampereen kaupungin hyvinvointi palvelualueen varhaiskasvatus ja perusopetus sekä Espoon Iso Omenan Palvelutori. Tavoitteena on kartoittaa millaisena johtajat ja esimiehet kokevat tuloksellisuudesta käytävän keskustelun ja millaisia informaation hyödyntämistä sekä keskustelua hankaloittavia tekijöitä erilaisissa julkisjohtamisen konteksteissa esiintyy. Turku ja Tampere edustavat perinteistä linjaorganisaationäkökulmaa, Espoossa puolestaan kyseessä on palvelukonsepti, joka yhdistää toimijoita eri sektoreilta. Jälkimmäisen kohdalla kansainvälinen tutkimuskirjallisuus puhuu verkosto- ja hybridiorganisaatioista. Tutkimus on luonteeltaan laadullista ja siinä yhdistyy tuloksellisuuden johtamisen, tuloksellisuusinformaation hyödyntämisen ja dialogisen johtamisen tutkimusalueet. Tutkimuksen empiirinen aineisto perustuu kuntien tuloksellisuuden kanssa tekemisissä olevien johtajien ja esimiesten haastatteluihin. Ajantasaisella ja täsmällisellä tuloksellisuusinformaatiolla on keskeinen rooli rajallisten resurssien kohdentamisessa sekä kerättyjen verovarojen käytön analysoimisessa. Julkisorganisaatioissa on luotu tuloksellisuusinformaation tuottamiseksi lukuisia erilaisia käytäntöjä ja tietoa tuotetaan enemmän kuin koskaan aikaisemmin. Tuloksellisuusinformaation hyödyntämiseen liittyy kuitenkin monia ongelmia ja tiedon käyttö on merkityksestään huolimatta jäänyt puutteelliseksi. Tutkimuksessa tutkitaan tuloksellisuusinformaation pohjalta käytävää dialogia yhtenä tuloksellisuusinformaation hyödyntämistä edistävänä keinona. Tutkimuksen keskeisimmät tulokset liittyvät tuloksellisuusinformaation pohjalta käytävien keskustelujen käytänteisiin. Tuloksellisuudesta ja sen osatekijöistä keskustellaan monien toimijoiden kanssa useilla foorumeilla, mutta monitulkintaisuuden ongelmat ja vaihtelevuus käsitteiden käytössä hankaloittavat tuloksellisuusdialogia ja sen tunnistamista. Monitoimijaympäristössä yhteisen kielen pirstaleisuus ja yksiköiden erilaiset tavat painottaa tuloksellisuuden osatekijöitä, korostuvat entisestään. Tällaisessa organisatorisessa ympäristössä myös yksiköiden heikko sitoutuminen nousi keskeiseksi haasteeksi.
