Fluid flow queue models for fixed-mobile network evaluation
A methodology for fast and accurate end-to-end KPI, like throughput and delay, estimation is proposed based on the service-centric traffic flow analysis and the fluid flow queuing model named CURSA-SQ. Mobile network features, like shared medium and mobility, are considered defining the models to be taken into account such as the propagation models and the fluid flow scheduling model. The developed methodology provides accurate computation of these KPIs, while performing orders of magnitude faster than discrete event simulators like ns-3. Finally, this methodology combined to its capacity for performance estimation in MPLS networks enables its application for near real-time converged fixed-mobile networks operation as it is proven in three use case scenarios
Timed Automata Semantics for Analyzing Creol
We give a real-time semantics for the concurrent, object-oriented modeling
language Creol, by mapping Creol processes to a network of timed automata. We
can use our semantics to verify real time properties of Creol objects, in
particular to see whether processes can be scheduled correctly and meet their
end-to-end deadlines. Real-time Creol can be useful for analyzing, for
instance, abstract models of multi-core embedded systems. We show how analysis
can be done in Uppaal.Comment: In Proceedings FOCLASA 2010, arXiv:1007.499
Zero-automatic queues and product form
We introduce and study a new model: 0-automatic queues. Roughly, 0-automatic
queues are characterized by a special buffering mechanism evolving like a
random walk on some infinite group or monoid. The salient result is that all
stable 0-automatic queues have a product form stationary distribution and a
Poisson output process. When considering the two simplest and extremal cases of
0-automatic queues, we recover the simple M/M/1 queue, and Gelenbe's G-queue
with positive and negative customers
Implementation of QoS onto virtual bus network
Quality of Service (QoS) is a key issue in a multimedia environment because multimedia applications are sensitive to delay. The virtual bus architecture is a hierarchical access network structure that has been proposed to simplify network signaling. The network employs an interconnection of hierarchical database to support advanced routing of the signaling and traffic load. Therefore, the requirements and management of quality of service is important in the virtual bus network particularly to support multimedia applications. QoS and traffic parameters are specified for each class type and the OMNeT model has been described
A model for quantum queue
We consider an extension of Discrete Time Markov Chain queueing model to the
quantum domain by use of Discrete Time Quantum Markov Chain. We introduce
methods for numerical analysis of such models. Using this tools we show that
quantum model behaves fundamentally differently from the classical one.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figure

Improving the network transmission cost of differentiated web services
This paper investigates into the transmission cost of web services related messages which is affected by network
latency. Web services enable seamless interaction and integration of e-business applications. Web services contain a
collection of operations so as to interact with outside world over the Internet through XML messaging. Though XML
effectively describe message related information and is fairly human readable, it badly affects the performance of Web
services in terms of transmission cost, processing cost, and so on. This paper aims to minimize network latency of message
communication of Web services by employing pre-emptive resume scheduling. Fundamental principle of this approach is the
provision of preferential treatment to some messages as compared to others. This approach assigns different priorities to
distinct classes of messages given the fact that some messages may tolerate longer delays than others. For instance, shorter
messages may be given higher priority than longer messages, or the Web service provider may give higher priority to the
messages of paying subscribers
