Today, high speed and trustworthy wireless communication over mobile is the requirement of society. As the mobile applications and the users are rapidly increasing, it is obligatory to have more reliable, high speed wireless network with high throughput, which will combat the disadvantages in existing system in this multiuser environment. In wireless system the received signal may be corrupted due to noise and interferences such as ‘inter symbol interference’ and ‘inter carrier interference’ when subjected to multi-path fading. Also the performance the system may be affected due to poor ‘bit error rate’ and high ‘peak to average power ratio’ value, which further affect the signal power and spectral efficiency of transmitted signal. The blend of ‘orthogonal frequency division multiplexing’ and ‘multi input multi output’ antenna system referred as MIMO-OFDM system, which offers the improvement in quality of service and higher throughput to satisfy the tomorrow’s need. This review article mainly focuses on various technologies adopted by different researchers for enhancing the ‘bit error rates’, ‘peak to average power ratio’, ‘signal to noise ratio’ and ‘spectral efficiency’ performances in wireless systems. We continue by highlighting the limitations and comparing results of conventional methods, schemes and algorithms proposed by different researchers.  We also focus on the multiple antenna system (MIMO), which is designed for future multiuser environment to enhance the capacity or to have high throughput along with good quality services

The performance of the vehicular communication-clustering process

For the new wireless systems and beyond, the intelligent transportation system is considered as one of the main features that could be covered in the new research topics. Furthermore, both high-speed data transmission and data processing play a crucial role for these generations. Our work covers two main propositions in order to attain an improvement in such intelligent systems performance. A clustering algorithm is proposed and presented for grouping mobile nodes based on their speeds with some modified head assignments processes. This will be combined with a parallel-processing technique that enhances the QoS. Mainly, this work concerns enhancing the V2V data transmission and the processing speed. Thus, a wavelet processing stage has been imposed to optimize the transmitted power phenomenon. In order to check the validity of such proposition, five main efficiency factors have been investigated; namely complementary cumulative distributions, bit rates, energy efficiency, the lifetime of cluster head and the ordinary nodes reattaching-head average times.

A new hybrid model of dengue incidence rate using negative binomial generalised additive model and fuzzy c-means model: a case study in Selangor

Dengue is one of the top reason for illness and mortality in the world with beyond onethird of the world's population living in the risk areas of dengue infection. In this study, there are five stages to achieve the research objectives. Firstly, the verification of predetem1ined variables. Secondly, the identification of new datasets after clustered by district and Fuzzy C-Means Model (FCM). Thirdly, the development of models using the existing dataset and the new datasets which clustered by the two different clustering categories. Then, to assess the models developed by using three measurement methods which are deviance (D), Akaike Jnfonnation Criteria (AIC) and Bayesian Infonnation Criteria (BIC} Lastly, the validation of model developed by comparing the value of D, AIC and BIC between the existing model and the new models developed which used the new datasets. There are two different clustering techniques applied which are clustering the data by district and by FCM. This study proposed a new modelling hybrid framework by using two statistical models which are FCM and negative binomial Generalised Additive Model (GAM). This study successfully presents the significant difference in the climatic and non-climatic factors that influenced dengue incidence rate (DIR) in Selangor, Malaysia. Results show that the climatic factors such as rainfall with current month up to 3 months and number of rainy days with current month up to lag 3 months are significant to DIR. Besides, the interaction between rainfall and number of rainy days also shows strong positive relationship to DIR. Meanwhile, non-climatic vaiiables such as population density, number of locality and lag DIR from I month until 3 months also show significant relationship towards DIR For both clustering techniques, there are two clusters fonned and there are four new models developed in this study. After comparing the values of D, AIC ai1d BIC between the existing model and the new models, this study concluded that four new models recorded lower values compared to the existing model. Therefore, the four new models are selected to present the dengue incidence in Selangor

In this paper we develop an integrated model for request mechanism and data transmission in multi-channel wireless local area networks. We calculated the performance parameters for single and multi-channel wireless networks when the channel is noisy. The proposed model is general it can be applied to different wireless networks such as IEEE802.11x, IEEE802.16, CDMA operated networks and Hiperlan\2.Comment: 11 Pages, IJCN

Exploring the hot-carrier effect on the wireless transceivers

Phase noise can be regarded as the most severe cause of performance degradation in the wireless communication systems. The hot-carriers (HCs), found in the CMOS synchronization circuits, are the high-energy charge carriers that degrade the MOSFET devices’ performance by increasing the threshold voltage required to operate the MOSFETs. The HC effect manifests itself as the phase noise whose level increases with the continued MOSFET operation and such increases result in the performance degradation of the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) built on the MOSFETs. The HC effect is particularly evident in the short-channel MOSFET devices. In this dissertation, we analyze the wireless transceiver performances in the presence of the synchronization errors induced by the HC effect, for both single-carrier and multi-carrier communication systems. We derive the relationship between the corresponding system performances and the HC effect in terms of a crucial parameter, the MOSFET threshold voltage. We employ a new phase noise model for the wireless systems influenced by the HC effect, which is based on a new precise phase noise mask function. In addition, we analyze the impact of the phase noise arising from the HC effect on the single-carrier wireless systems in terms of the BER and the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). We derive the exact BER expression and show the SINR degradation for the QPSK systems that suffer from the phase noise. We apply Monte Carlo simulations to verify our analysis. To study the HC effect thoroughly, we simplify the BER expression as a new asymptotical analysis as the signal-to-noise ratio approaches to infinity and obtain the lower bound of the achievable BER for the single-carrier wireless systems. For multi-carrier systems, we focus our discussions on the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. According to our simulations, we show that the bit-error-rate (BER) evaluation for OFDM using our new phase noise model in the presence of the HCs can be very different up to three orders-of-magnitude from the existing models disregarding the HCs. We have also found that the ICI self-cancellation coding is very effective for combating the phase noise in the OFDM systems
