An Advanced Conceptual Diagnostic Healthcare Framework for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disorders
The data mining along with emerging computing techniques have astonishingly
influenced the healthcare industry. Researchers have used different Data Mining
and Internet of Things (IoT) for enrooting a programmed solution for diabetes
and heart patients. However, still, more advanced and united solution is needed
that can offer a therapeutic opinion to individual diabetic and cardio
patients. Therefore, here, a smart data mining and IoT (SMDIoT) based advanced
healthcare system for proficient diabetes and cardiovascular diseases have been
proposed. The hybridization of data mining and IoT with other emerging
computing techniques is supposed to give an effective and economical solution
to diabetes and cardio patients. SMDIoT hybridized the ideas of data mining,
Internet of Things, chatbots, contextual entity search (CES), bio-sensors,
semantic analysis and granular computing (GC). The bio-sensors of the proposed
system assist in getting the current and precise status of the concerned
patients so that in case of an emergency, the needful medical assistance can be
provided. The novelty lies in the hybrid framework and the adequate support of
chatbots, granular computing, context entity search and semantic analysis. The
practical implementation of this system is very challenging and costly.
However, it appears to be more operative and economical solution for diabetes
and cardio patients.Comment: 11 PAGE
Novel proposal for prediction of CO2 course and occupancy recognition in Intelligent Buildings within IoT
Many direct and indirect methods, processes, and sensors available on the market today are used to monitor the occupancy of selected Intelligent Building (IB) premises and the living activities of IB residents. By recognizing the occupancy of individual spaces in IB, IB can be optimally automated in conjunction with energy savings. This article proposes a novel method of indirect occupancy monitoring using CO2, temperature, and relative humidity measured by means of standard operating measurements using the KNX (Konnex (standard EN 50090, ISO/IEC 14543)) technology to monitor laboratory room occupancy in an intelligent building within the Internet of Things (IoT). The article further describes the design and creation of a Software (SW) tool for ensuring connectivity of the KNX technology and the IoT IBM Watson platform in real-time for storing and visualization of the values measured using a Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol and data storage into a CouchDB type database. As part of the proposed occupancy determination method, the prediction of the course of CO2 concentration from the measured temperature and relative humidity values were performed using mathematical methods of Linear Regression, Neural Networks, and Random Tree (using IBM SPSS Modeler) with an accuracy higher than 90%. To increase the accuracy of the prediction, the application of suppression of additive noise from the CO2 signal predicted by CO2 using the Least mean squares (LMS) algorithm in adaptive filtering (AF) method was used within the newly designed method. In selected experiments, the prediction accuracy with LMS adaptive filtration was better than 95%.Web of Science1223art. no. 454

Modeling and simulating of reservoir operation using the artificial neural network, support vector regression, deep learning algorithm
Reservoirs and dams are vital human-built infrastructures that play essential roles in flood control, hydroelectric power generation, water supply, navigation, and other functions. The realization of those functions requires efficient reservoir operation, and the effective controls on the outflow from a reservoir or dam. Over the last decade, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques have become increasingly popular in the field of streamflow forecasts, reservoir operation planning and scheduling approaches. In this study, three AI models, namely, the backpropagation (BP) neural network, support vector regression (SVR) technique, and long short-term memory (LSTM) model, are employed to simulate reservoir operation at monthly, daily, and hourly time scales, using approximately 30 years of historical reservoir operation records. This study aims to summarize the influence of the parameter settings on model performance and to explore the applicability of the LSTM model to reservoir operation simulation. The results show the following: (1) for the BP neural network and LSTM model, the effects of the number of maximum iterations on model performance should be prioritized; for the SVR model, the simulation performance is directly related to the selection of the kernel function, and sigmoid and RBF kernel functions should be prioritized; (2) the BP neural network and SVR are suitable for the model to learn the operation rules of a reservoir from a small amount of data; and (3) the LSTM model is able to effectively reduce the time consumption and memory storage required by other AI models, and demonstrate good capability in simulating low-flow conditions and the outflow curve for the peak operation period
Modulation recognition of low-SNR UAV radar signals based on bispectral slices and GA-BP neural network
In this paper, we address the challenge of low recognition rates in existing methods for radar signals from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with low signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs). To overcome this challenge, we propose the utilization of the bispectral slice approach for accurate recognition of complex UAV radar signals. Our approach involves extracting the bispectral diagonal slice and the maximum bispectral amplitude horizontal slice from the bispectrum amplitude spectrum of the received UAV radar signal. These slices serve as the basis for subsequent identification by calculating characteristic parameters such as convexity, box dimension, and sparseness. To accomplish the recognition task, we employ a GA-BP neural network. The significant variations observed in the bispectral slices of different signals, along with their robustness against Gaussian noise, contribute to the high separability and stability of the extracted bispectral convexity, bispectral box dimension, and bispectral sparseness. Through simulations involving five radar signals, our proposed method demonstrates superior performance. Remarkably, even under challenging conditions with an SNR as low as −3 dB, the recognition accuracy for the five different radar signals exceeds 90%. Our research aims to enhance the understanding and application of modulation recognition techniques for UAV radar signals, particularly in scenarios with low SNRs
A case study of predicting banking customers behaviour by using data mining
Data Mining (DM) is a technique that examines information stored in large database or data warehouse and find the patterns or trends in the data that are not yet known or suspected. DM techniques have been applied to a variety of different domains including Customer Relationship Management CRM). In this research, a new Customer Knowledge Management (CKM) framework based on data mining is proposed. The proposed data mining framework in this study manages relationships between banking organizations and their customers. Two typical data mining techniques - Neural Network and Association Rules - are applied to predict the behavior of customers and to increase the decision-making processes for recalling valued customers in banking industries. The experiments on the real world dataset are conducted and the different metrics are used to evaluate the performances of the two data mining models. The results indicate that the Neural Network model achieves better accuracy but takes longer time to train the model
The State-of-the-Art in Air Pollution Monitoring and Forecasting Systems using IoT, Big Data, and Machine Learning
The quality of air is closely linked with the life quality of humans,
plantations, and wildlife. It needs to be monitored and preserved continuously.
Transportations, industries, construction sites, generators, fireworks, and
waste burning have a major percentage in degrading the air quality. These
sources are required to be used in a safe and controlled manner. Using
traditional laboratory analysis or installing bulk and expensive models every
few miles is no longer efficient. Smart devices are needed for collecting and
analyzing air data. The quality of air depends on various factors, including
location, traffic, and time. Recent researches are using machine learning
algorithms, big data technologies, and the Internet of Things to propose a
stable and efficient model for the stated purpose. This review paper focuses on
studying and compiling recent research in this field and emphasizes the Data
sources, Monitoring, and Forecasting models. The main objective of this paper
is to provide the astuteness of the researches happening to improve the various
aspects of air polluting models. Further, it casts light on the various
research issues and challenges also.Comment: 30 pages, 11 figures, Wireless Personal Communications. Wireless Pers
