A bi-objective decision support tool based on system dynamics and discrete event modelling for sustainable supply chain
Based on the development trend of sustainable concepts and the implement ability of composites combined with Agave Bagasse Fibre (ABF) and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). The purpose of this paper is to design a bi-objective decision support tool for supply chain of composite material which combined with ABF and PET. Through the production, processing, recycling, and reprocessing of composite materials, the sustainable supply chain model of four different schemes is designed, and the data results of each scheme model are calculated and analysed. The tool can support supply chain modelling solutions that seek best practices for sustainable supply chains and optimize resource efficiency through cost and carbon dioxide emissions. The sustainable supply chain model was designed, created, and optimized in AnyLogic software using System Dynamics and Discrete Event Simulation modelling methods based on the supply chain model established by previous researchers. According to the analysis results of the model data, the reasonable design of the whole process can effectively reduce the cost and carbon dioxide emissions and achieve the effectiveness and implementation of the sustainable supply chain. The results of this study will provide reference for more sustainable supply chain models in the future. Further research on composite materials can be carried out by combining with practice
Multi crteria decision making and its applications : a literature review
This paper presents current techniques used in Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) and their applications. Two basic approaches for MCDM, namely Artificial Intelligence MCDM (AIMCDM) and Classical MCDM (CMCDM) are discussed and investigated. Recent articles from international journals related to MCDM are collected and analyzed to find which approach is more common than the other in MCDM. Also, which area these techniques are applied to. Those articles are appearing in journals for the year 2008 only. This paper provides evidence that currently, both AIMCDM and CMCDM are equally common in MCDM

Decision support for build-to-order supply chain management through multiobjective optimization
This paper aims to identify the gaps in decision-making support based on
multiobjective optimization for build-to-order supply chain management (BTOSCM).
To this end, it reviews the literature available on modelling build-to-order
supply chains (BTO-SC) with the focus on adopting multiobjective optimization
(MOO) techniques as a decision support tool. The literature has been classified based
on the nature of the decisions in different part of the supply chain, and the key
decision areas across a typical BTO-SC are discussed in detail. Available software
packages suitable for supporting decision making in BTO supply chains are also
identified and their related solutions are outlined. The gap between the modelling and
optimization techniques developed in the literature and the decision support needed in
practice are highlighted and future research directions to better exploit the decision
support capabilities of MOO are proposed
Software como um Serviço: uma plataforma eficaz para oferta de sistemas holĂsticos de gestĂŁo da performance
This study main objective was to assess the viability of development of a Performance Management (PM) system, delivered in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS), specific for the hospitality industry and to evaluate the benefits of its use. Software deployed in the cloud, delivered and licensed as a service, is becoming increasingly common and accepted in a business context. Although, Business Intelligence (BI) solutions are not usually distributed in the SaaS model, there are some examples that this is changing. To achieve the study objective, design science research methodology was employed in the development of a prototype. This prototype was deployed in four hotels and its results evaluated. Evaluation of the prototype was focused both on the system technical characteristics and business benefits. Results shown that hotels were very satisfied with the system and that building a prototype and making it available in the form of SaaS is a good solution to assess BI systems contribution to improve management performance.O objetivo principal deste estudo Ă© avaliar a viabilidade de

SaaS. No entanto, existem alguns exemplos de que isso se estĂĄ a alterar.
Para atingir o objetivo do estudo, foi utilizada Design Science Research
como metodologia de pesquisa cientĂfica para desenvolvimento de um
protótipo. Este protótipo foi implementado em quatro hotéis para que
os seus resultados pudessem ser avaliados. A avaliação foi focada tanto
nas caracterĂsticas tĂ©cnicas do sistema como nos benefĂcios para o
negócio. Os resultados mostraram que os hotéis estavam muito
satisfeitos com o sistema e que construir um protótipo e disponibilizå-lo sob a forma de SaaS é uma boa solução para avaliar a contribuição

Linear, integer separable and fuzzy programming problems: a united approach towards automatic reformulation
For mathematical programming (MP) to have greater impact as a
decision tool, MP software systems must offer suitable support in
terms of model communication and modelling techniques. In this
paper modelling techniques that allow logical restrictions to be
modelled in integer programming terms are described and their
implications discussed. In addition it is demonstrated that many
classes of non-linearities which are not variable separable may be
after suitable algebraic manipulation put in a variable separable
form. The methods of reformulating the fuzzy linear programming
problem as a Max-Min problem is also introduced. It is shown that
analysis of bounds plays a key role in the following four important
contexts: model reduction, reformulation of logical restrictions
as 0-1 mixed integer programs, reformulation of nonlinear programs
as variable separable programs and reformulation of fuzzy linear
programs. It is observed that as well as incorporating an
interface between the modeller and the optimiser there is a need to
make available to the modeller software facilities which support the
model reformulation techniques described here
