Thirty years of the international journal of intelligent systems: a bibliometric review

    Get PDF
The International Journal of Intelligent Systems was created in 1986. Today, the journal is 30 years old. To celebrate this anniversary, this study develops a bibliometric review of all of the papers published in the journal between 1986 and 2015. The results are largely based on the Web of Science Core Collection, which classifies leading bibliographic material by using several indicators including total number of publications and citations, the h-index, cites per paper, and citing articles. Thework also uses theVOS viewer software for visualizing the main results through bibliographic coupling and co-citation. The results show a general overview of leading trends that have influenced the journal in terms of highly cited papers, authors, journals, universities and countries. C 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc

Aggregation operators in group decision making: Identifying citation classics via H-classics

To analyze the past, present and future of a particular research field, classic papers are usually studied because they identify the highly cited papers being a relevant reference point in that specific research area. As a result of the possible mapping between high quality research and high citation counts, highly cited papers are very interesting. The objective of this study is to use the H-classics method, which is based on the popular h-index, to identify and analyze the highly cited documents published about aggregation operators in the research area of group decision making. According to the H-classics method, this research area is represented by 87 citation classics, which have been published from 1988 to 2014. Authors, affiliations (universities/institutions and countries), journals, books and conferences, and the topics covered by these 87 highly cited papers are studied. The authors would like to thank FEDER financial support from the Projects TIN2013-40658-P and TIN2016- 75850-P

Fuzzy decision making: A bibliometric-based review

    Get PDF
Fuzzy decision-making consists in making decisions under complex and uncertain environments where the information can be assessed with fuzzy sets and systems. The aim of this study is to review the main contributions in this field by using a bibliometric approach. For doing so, the article uses a wide range of bibliometric indicators including the citations and the h-index. Moreover, it also uses the VOS viewer software in order to map the main trends in this area. The work considers the leading journals, articles, authors and institutions. The results indicate that the USA was the traditional leader in this field with the most significant researcher. However, during the last years, this field is receiving more attention by Asian authors that are starting to lead the field. This discipline has a strong potential and the expectations for the future is that it will continue to grow

Bibliometric Analysis of Fuzzy Logic Research in International Scientific Databases

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to explore the Web of Science Database (WOS) and review the significant contributions to the research of Fuzzy Logic or Fuzzy Sets theory from the beginning to the present. This study analyzes the most eminent authors, institutions, countries, and journals in Fuzzy Logic research by applying science mapping methods and bibliometric measures. Also, we paid attention to link strength and h-index to represent the visibility, influence, and link between the representative authors. Moreover, we added descriptive statistics to highlight strong linearity and a connection between fuzzy publications and Fuzzy Logic research. Also, we applied regression analyses and prevision functions to predict the evolution of the Fuzzy Logic topic. The results showed a significant increase in the number of papers published annually in a portfolio of internationally representative journals. This leads us to the idea that Fuzzy Logic research is now a transdisciplinary topic that continually develops. Therefore, it can be found in more and more related areas such as artificial intelligence, IoT, medicine, economics, or the environment. Most of the results are consistent with other bibliometric studies. Still, some results are different, results related to the current cited works that show a polarization in the Asia area and the top journals that is continuously changing depending on the number of papers and the quotations of scientific personalities that publish. We used the VOS Viewer software to map the main trends in the field. The results indicate that the use of concepts has long exceeded traditional boundaries

This is the introductory paper in a special issue on fuzzy logic dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Lotfi A. Zadeh published by International Journal of Computers Communications & Control (IJCCC). In 1965, Lotfi A. Zadeh published in the journal „Information and Control” the article titled „Fuzzy sets”, which today reaches over 117 thousand citations. The total sum of citations for all his papers is above 253 thousand. Based on the notion of fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic and the concept of soft computing emerged, bringing extremely important implications to the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In 2017, I published, whith F.G. Filip and M.J. Manolescu, a 42-page long paper in the IJCCC about the life and masterwork of Lotfi A. Zadeh, from which I will use some information in this material [15]

"Information Security in the Banking Sector: A Systematic Literature Review on Current Trends, Issues, and Challenges"

In recent years, information security has become a very important aspect, since it creates serious trouble for organizations that do not take it into consideration. In this regard, it was detected that many entities in the banking sector experience multiple problems that are mainly related to the way in which they protect their data, so it is necessary to pay close attention to this issue. For this reason, in this investigation it was decided to carry out a systematic review of the literature, obtaining 2,787 articles through searches in electronic databases. Likewise, the PRISMA method was used, which allowed the identification of 15 relevant articles to form the synthesis of the investigation. In the same way, a bibliometric analysis was carried out, which allowed knowing the gaps in knowledge. Finally, in the conclusions emphasis is placed on several aspects; for example, it is highlighted that cybercriminals constantly attack the banking sector and it is mentioned that all the research questions posed were successfully answered

To access the final edited and published work see https://doi.org/10.3390/ijfs9040068This review aims to study the knowledge development and research dissemination on the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on earnings management through a social network approach using a bibliometric review. A systematic bibliometric review was carried out on 329 papers obtained from the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database. The data were analyzed by year, journal, author, institution, country, affiliation, subject area and term analysis. The results reveal the growing interest of researchers in studying the impact of CSR. Although the USA and China dominate publication production, there are a large number of authors from more than 50 countries around the world. The results also show that being prolific does not imply being influential in this area. The keyword patterns showed some interesting potential areas of study on this topic. The findings of this paper provide insight to the research on the analysis of the influence of CSR on earnings management. The most important findings consist of a number of gaps in the literature, such as gender diversity, voluntary disclosure of information and existence of an audit committee, among others, that allow for future fields of research to improve the analysis of the influence of CSR in EM. This research should also prove helpful to managers, owners and auditors. This is the first bibliometric review developed on this topic and it can be extrapolated to any place in the world
