Прагматична інтерпретація метафоричних висловлень у різдвяних посланнях глав християнських церков

У статті проаналізовано прагматичні смисли метафоричних висловлень у текстах Різдвяних послань глав християнських церков з метою виявити та порівняти комунікативні наміри мовців, а також особливості структуруваня, оцінки та пояснення дійсності різними християнськими гілками. (The article seeks to understand recent pragmatic discussions in metaphor research in the context of religious discourse studies. In particular, it focuses upon the analysis of metaphor functioning in the texts of Christmas greetings of the Heads of Christian churches, specifically, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate), the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Church and the Russian Orthodox Church. Metaphor is viewed as a pragmatically significant text content component. It is a source of implicit information which can be elicited from the context and general conditions of effective communication, taking into account rules and maxims of communication. Implicature of metaphoric utterances lies in the use of definite nominal means with reference to other referents. On the mental level such nominal transference is preceded by convergence of the features of two concepts. Pragmatic interpretation of metaphoric utterances is based on the literal explicit meanings of the utterances, which evoke particular associations. Therefore, metaphor can be intentionally employed in religious discourse in order to lead addressee to the desired conclusions, form not only specific religious outlook, but in general affect perception of reality and behavior of people. The contrastive study of metaphor use in the texts of Christmas greetings of the Heads of Christian churches enables identifying and comparing communicative intentions of the speakers and sheds light upon the distinctive features of structuring, evaluation and interpretation of reality by the Christian communities.

У статті автор, аналізує наявну динаміку релігійної свідомості українського соціуму крізь призму її основних маркерів – ціннісних конфігурацій. Так, він ґрунтовно доводить, що унікальністю української «революційної» конфігурації ціннісної сфери стало те, що основою актуалізованих під час Революції Гідності цінностей Самостійності і Ризику-Новизни залишалась Традиція, яка переважно базується на слідуванні цінностям традиційного світогляду, тобто значимої ролі церкви і особистісної віри . В цьому принципова відмінність «революційної» конфігурації цінностей Майдану від тотожних зразків західно- європейських країн, на які орієнтується сучасний українській соціум, і де Традиція все більше втра- чає значення, а релігійна потреба заміщується ідеологією громадянської відповідальності, екологічної свідомості, соціальної активності. Для розуміння і пояснення різноспрямованих тенденцій у релігійній свідомості і віддзеркалюючої її ціннісної сфери, автор залучає концепт культурної традиції і відстоює по- зицію, що заявлений концепт може поставати адекватним інструментом соціокультурного аналізу цін- нісних конфігурацій і їх динаміки, в умовах зокрема вітчизняних постреволюційних соціокультурних реалій

Post-revolutionary religious consciousness of ukrainian society: melange effect for waiting bifurcation

У статті автор, аналізує наявну динаміку релігійної свідомості українського соціуму крізь призму її  основних маркерів – ціннісних конфігурацій. Так, він ґрунтовно доводить, що унікальністю української «революційної» конфігурації ціннісної сфери стало те, що основою актуалізованих під час Революції Гідності цінностей Самостійності і Ризику­Новизни залишалась Традиція, яка переважно базується на слідуванні цінностям традиційного світогляду, тобто значимої ролі церкви і особистісної віри . В цьому принципова відмінність «революційної» конфігурації цінностей Майдану від тотожних зразків західноєвропейських країн, на які орієнтується сучасний українській соціум, і де Традиція все більше втрачає значення, а релігійна потреба заміщується ідеологією громадянської відповідальності, екологічної свідомості, соціальної активності. So, the author proves that the uniqueness of Ukrainian «revolutionary» configuration value sphere is that the basis of updated during the Revolution of Advantages values of autonomy, Risk and Novelty remains tradition, which is mainly based on the following values of the traditional worldview, i.e significant role of the church and personal faith. There is a fundamental difference between «revolutionary» configuration of Maidan’s values and identical samples of Western European countries, in which is oriented a modern Ukrainian society, and where tradition is increasingly losing its importance and religious ideology replaces on the civic responsibility, environmental awareness, social activity. To understand and explain different trends in religious consciousness and its value, the author uses the concept of cultural traditions and defends the position that the claimed concept may appear an adequate tool of sociocultural analysis of value configurations and their dynamics, particularly in terms of domestic post­revolutionary cultural realities. Marker of significant transformations in the social and value sphere in the history of mankind, even under the circumstances of total secularization, is and will be a religious consciousness. The nature of the events that began during the Revolution of Dignity and are now occurring in the religious-church environment, indicates a change in the disposition of value vectors in this area. Separating the idea of the "Russian world" in its aggressive expansionist version from the actual dogmas of Orthodoxy and Christian commandments created an extraordinary social tension in this environment, launching the mechanism of social rethinking and transformation. Of course, this process is painful, but it is positive that catharsis and release are also inevitable. Strengthened by powerful traditionalism, on the one hand, and the need for a revolutionary rethinking and deprivation of political and spiritual dependence - on the other hand, religious consciousness in the present situation is living an internal conflict that generates a melange-effect - a state in which mass consciousness solves an extremely difficult task - makes an attempt to separate "his" authentic from "his" historical, to determine the fate and the role of each such "his", giving him a public assessment and finding (or not finding) him a social just place in a single house

Репрезентация социокультурного института армии и военнослужащего в современном российском и американском кино: опыт сравнительного анализа

The article discusses the issue of cultural aspects of national security in its relation to the context of contemporary art. The author examines Russian and American military cinematography of the 2010s. It is revealed that typical features of the representation of images of the army, the soldiers and the war in general in two different national cinematographic schools. The connection between the features of war cinema and the specifics of historical fate and the circumstances of current foreign policy is marked out. In conclusion, the author identifies some of the risks and threats to national cultural security associated with the broadcast into the Russian cultural space of the point of view expressed in American war cinema.В статье поднимается вопрос о культурных аспектах национальной безопасности применительно к контексту современного искусства. Автор рассматривает российский и американский военный кинематограф 2010‑х гг. и выявляет типические черты репрезентации образов армии, военного и войны в целом в двух различных национальных кинематографических школах. Выявляется связь особенностей военного кино со специ­фикой исторической судьбы и обстоятельствами актуальной внешней политики. В заключение автор определяет некоторые риски и угрозы национальной культурной безопасности, связанные с трансляцией в российское культурное пространство точки зрения, выражаемой в американском военном кино

Роль евреев-иностранцев в социально-экономической и культурной жизни Херсонской губернии в конце XVIII – первой половине XIX вв.

На основе анализа архивных документов и систематизации имеющихся в литературе данных выполнено исследование роли евреев-иностранцев в социально- экономической и культурной жизни Херсонской губернии конца XVIII – первой половины XIX в. Показано, что евреи-иностранцы внесли значительный вклад в банковское дело, торговлю и образование, участвовали в подрядах для Черноморского флота и строительства городских и портовых сооружений.На основі аналізу архівних документів та систематизації наявних в літературі даних виконано дослідження ролі євреїв-іноземців у соціально-економічному й культурному житті Херсонської губернії кінця XVIII – першої половини XIX ст. Показано, що євреї-іноземці зробили значний внесок у банківську справу, торгівлю й освіту, брали участь у підрядах для Чорноморського флоту й будівництва міських і портових споруд.Based on the analysis of archival documents and ordering data available in literature, the role of foreign Jews in social-economic life of Kherson province in the end of XVIII – early XIX century has been investigated. Rapidly growing cities of Novorossia had an urgent need for specialists of different types and suppliers, providing construction, trade and normal living conditions for people. Because of that, among the foreign Jews in the Kherson province were numerous artisans and small traders. Also there were many merchants. They eager to participate in all kinds of supplies for the Black Sea Navy, in particular, supplied wood and food. In addition, they participated in contracts for the construction of various objects. In the beginning of the XIX century, Jews did not play a prominent role in Odessa trade, and all leading positions were occupied by the Greeks. But already in 1817 six Jewish merchants including 4 foreigners are recorded among the traders in the port of Odessa, and later their number was increasing. Most of the foreign Jewish merchants in Odessa engaged in trade of fabric and food. Natives of Galicia occupied leading positions, acting as intermediaries, factors, and agents in the grain trade. Especially valued among them were bankers. Leaders in the transit trade in the route Odessa – Brody in the first third of the XIX century were Jewish merchants from Brody, who for greater efficiency have moved their offices to Odessa. Foreign Jews were actively involved in local government. Enlightened Odessa Jews, among whom more than half were Austrian immigrants, created a Jewish school in Odessa, in which special attention was paid to training of commerce and foreign languages. This school was the first institution of its kind in the Russian Empire. Over time, foreign Jews created other schools in Odessa, as well as in the agricultural colonies of Kherson province. Authorities of Novorossia greatly appreciated Jewish foreigners, noting their contribution to banking, education and charity, as well as the work of Jewish craftsmen. By 1858, three Austrian Jews were awarded the title of honorary citizens of Odessa

The aim of this study is to show the specific relation of the Brethren of Purity to the issue of philosophy and religion. It is analysis, study and organizes their thoughts in this field, particularly their role within the traditions of the Islamic mentality and theoretic approach, dominating then in theology and philosophy. Special attention devoted to their status as the link between the traditions of theology and philosophy that deal their vision about the necessary of philosophy reasonable and acceptable to Islamic consciousness at that time.Статья посвящена анализу и систематизации взглядов Братьев Чистоты о соотношении философии и религии.
