В статье дается обзор призведений второй половины ХІХ века, посвященных борьбе подольского мстителя Устима Кармалюка. Основное внимание акцентируется на интерпретации этого образа в повести-сказке Марка Вовчка, отображении его деятельности и значении ее для воспитания у подрастающего поколения осознания себя частью украинской нации.There is a review of the works of the second half of the ХІХ century is given in the article, which are devoted to the Podolsk avenger Ustim Karmalyuk’ fight. The main attention is concentrated on the interpretation of this type in the Marko Vovchok' story-fairytale, also on his activity representation and on it’s meaning for the upbringing of growing generation of realizing one as a part of the Ukrainian nation

Історична постать Устима Карманюка (Кармалюка) в українській діаспорній історіографії (Historical Figure of Ustym Karmaniuk (Karmaliuk) in Ukrainian Diaspora Historiography)

У тезах аналізується місце постаті відомого українського повстанського ватажка Устима Кармалюка в українській зарубіжній історіографії. Проаналізовано праці низки діаспорних дослідників – М. Антоновича, І. Коровицького, Д. Тягнигоре, а також енциклопедичні гасла та окремі статті про цю історичну постать. Автором розглянуто сильні та слабкі сторони розглянутих праць. Серед останніх – відірваність від архівів, послугування працями радянських істориків, тяжіння до соціологічних схем, що в сукупності нерідко спричиняло до створення необ’єктивного, ідеалізованого образу історичного діяча. (The author analyses the place of the Ukrainian well-known rebel leader Ustym Karmaliuk in Ukrainian foreign historiography. The article examines the works of a number of diaspora`s researchers (M. Antonovych. I. Korovytskyi, D. Tiahnyhore, etc.) and also the encyclopaedic slogans and some articles about this historical figure. The author considers the strengths and weaknesses of the reviewed papers. Among the latter, such weak points are stressed: the scholars could not use archives, they had to deal with the works of Soviet historians, and they were greatly attracted to sociological schemes. These factors often caused the creation of a biased, idealized image of the historical figure.

Genre code of the Ukrainian novel in the poems of the late XX – early XXI century

У дисертації вперше здійснено системно-аналітичний аналіз жанрового коду українського роману у віршах кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ ст. як сегмента цілісного літературного процесу. Окреслено вектори його генологічного розвитку, сфокусовано увагу на структурно-смислових елементах, генезі й еволюції, наслідуванні, визначено роль авторського жанрового маркування та його місце в стратегії впливу на читацьку рецепцію. Охарактеризовано міжродові модифікації, міжжанрові дифузії, жанрові різновиди / модуси роману у віршах: історичний, автобіографічний, гротескний, сатиричний, химерний, роман-пісня, історико-філософсько-фантастичний роман-есе, роман-трилогія, роман-медитація у віршах. Проаналізовано відомі романи у віршах і ті, які не були об’єктом наукових студій: романи М. Балашової, В. Бровченка, Н. Гілевича, Л. Горлача, В. Гончаренка, А. Гудими, І. Забудського, Л. Кірик-Радомської, І. Козака, Л. Костенко, В. Марсюка, К. Мотрич, Г. Лютого, О. Омельченко, Р. Пастуха, І. Павлюка, М. Тютюнника, П. Шабатина. Осмислено художньо-історичну концепцію й героїчний модус буття етнообразів, трансформацію наративу культурної пам’яті, ідейно-естетичну й проблемно-тематичну суть романів у віршах.В диссертации впервые осуществлён системно-аналитический анализ жанрового кода украинского романа в стихах конца ХХ – начала ХХІ в. как сегмента целостного литературного процесса. Очерчены векторы его генологического развития, сфокусировано внимание на структурно-смысловых элементах, генезисе и эволюции, наследовании, определена роль авторского жанрового маркирования и его место в стратегии влияния на читательскую рецепцию. Охарактеризованы межродовые модификации, межжанровые диффузии, жанровые разновидности / модусы романа в стихах: исторический, автобиографический, гротескный, сатирический, причудливый, роман-песня, историко-философский, фантастический роман-эссе, роман-трилогия, роман-медитация в стихах. Проанализированы известные романы в стихах и те, которые не были предметом научных исследований: романы М. Балашовой, В. Бровченко, Н. Гилевича, Л. Горлача, В. Гончаренко, А. Гудимы, И. Забудского, Л. Кирик-Радомской, И. Козака, Л. Костенко, В. Марсюка, Е. Мотрич, Г. Лютого, А. Омельченко, И. Павлюка, Р. Пастуха, М. Тютюнника, П. Шабатина. Осмыслено художественно-историческую концепцию и героический модус бытия этнообразов, трансформацию нарратива культурной памяти, идейно-эстетическую и проблемно-тематическую суть романов в стихах.Ascertained in the work is the systematic and analytical analysis of the genre code of the Ukrainian novel in the poems of the late 20 th and early 21st centuries as a segment of an integral literary process for the first time. Determined in the dissertation is the genealogic vectors of its development as well as the focused attention is on the structural and semantic elements, the genesis and evolution, the heritage and also the role of the author's genre marking and its place in the strategy of influence on the reader's reception are determined. Characterized in the work is the inter gender modifications, inter genre diffusion, genre types / modes of the novel in verse: historical, autobiographical, grotesque, satirical, whimsical, romance-song, historical and philosophical, fantasy essay, novel trilogy, novel in verse meditation. Novels in poetry consist of two or more interrelated story subjects, as a rule, conceptual-historical and historical-artistic (the main character in the background of remarkable events and the lines of Ukraine), characterized by a combination of chronic and concentric forms of the plot, which makes it possible to reproduce a large time space (at least a century, with the preponderance of socio-historical chronotope over psychological), have a historiographical base, a wide palette of significant events, repeated in new variations, a tense psychological drama as a form of nation`s comprehension as the analogy between the events of the past and present. The new level in the transformation of everyday realities and fatal events for Ukraine is represented in historical novels in verse (which are predominant) with a masculine beginning. The dissertation comprehends the artistic-historical conception and the heroic mode of national heroes` being (ethno-images), that are connected with material and spiritual culture, the formation of Ukrainian mentality, and depending on the time, desacralized, demythologized (especially in postmodern interpretation), were the ideological factor. The research deals with the historical conception of the authors and a large number of historical prototypes with information on the facts of their biography and the inner world (the artistic and historical model of Severyn Nalyvaiko, Bogdan Khmelnytskyi, Ivan Mazepa, Ivan Sirko, Maxim Zaliznyak`s being) in accordance with the new aesthetic demands of the epoch. Characters` being is represented on the background of large-scale events with the help of techniques of figurative retrospection (vision, memories, dreams, delusions) within a short period of the time. Thе great role is devoted to lyric indents (most perceptible in the prologue, the epilogue, the «lines» of the love triangle) in the plot and the disclosure of characters. The evolution of the artistic epic literature associated with the national historic genres, mostly heroic epic as a structural element and a benchmark in the creation of cultural images of metatype: brilliant innate talent (Marusia Churai) heroic deed (Marusia Bohuslavka), the greatness of women (Roxolana). The name of the woman characters in novels in verse («Marusia Bohuslavka», «Marusia Churai», «Roksolana Wreath») are correlated to the line of the character`s historiosophical, cultural life and acting as their implicit characteristics. The scenes are like the traditional ones that built on the grounds of folk, have ballad basis – intense story with a tragic outcome. Determined in the work is the inter gender modifications inter genre diffusion, genre types / modes of the novel in verse: historical, autobiographical, grotesque, satirical, whimsical, romance-song, historical and philosophical, fantasy essay, novel trilogy, novel in verse meditation. Generalized in the dissertation is the artistic and aesthetic criteria of contamination (the syncretism of folklore and literary songs, subjective generalization of legends and narrations, the reality of the Ukrainian people`s life in the times of totalitarian existence), functioning of multi-design models: confession, prayer as the genre varieties and structural elements of the novel in poetry, which are presented in a lyrical address to God, like to an imaginary interlocutor and a monologue confession to «himself». The genre code of the novel in poetry is examined on the examples of not only famous works, but also new ones that have not been the subject of scientific studies yet – M. Balashova, V. Brovchenko, N. Gilevich, L. Horlach, V. Goncharenko, A. Gudyma, I. Zabudskyi, L. Kirik-Radomska, I. Kozak, L. Kostenko, V. Marsiuk, K. Motrich, G. Liutyi, O. Omelchenko, R. Shevchiuk, I. Pavliuk, M. Tiutiunnyk, P. Shabatina. The dissertation comprehends the artistic-historical conception and the heroic mode of national heroes` being (ethno-images), transformation of the narrative of cultural memory, ideological and aesthetic and problem-thematic essence of novels in verse. The peculiarity of the novels in poetry of the late XX – early XXI century is the transformation of the narrative of cultural memory, the ideological, aesthetic and thematic essence, the introduction of other texts in the work, the dialogue with them, the creation of new meanings as the constructions that hold figurative, plot, compositional, motive and other layers and interaction with a wide context of folk customs, Ukrainian and world culture, in the internal semantic organization of the nation’s authorship

Фольклорні записи про Устима Карманюка (Кармалюка) в листах до Грушевського (Folklore Records about Ustym Karmaniuk (Karmaliuk) in Letters to Hrushevskyi)

Автором розглянуто місце історичної постаті Устима Карманюка в працях М.С. Грушевського. Серед численних листів до вченого є лист вчителя Звенигородського комерційного училища Г. Рудченка, який містить не відомі на той час варіанти фольклорної творчості про ватажка подільських розбійників. Проте М.С. Грушевський так ніде і не використав цей матеріал і жодного разу не згадав Карманюка в своїх працях у контексті історії народних рухів на Поділлі. З’ясовано, що вчений дивився на історичну постать У. Кармалюка розважливо і не ототожнював зі створеним його літературно-мистецьким та фольклорним романтичним образом. (The author analyses the place of a historical figure of Ustym Karmaniuk in works of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi. Among numerous letters of the scholar, there is a letter from H. Rudchenko, a teacher of Zvenyhorod Commercial School. This letter contains earlier not known folklore selections about the leader of the Podolsk robbers. However, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi did not use this material anywhere and never mentioned Karmaniuk in his works in the context of the history of movements in Podillia. It is found out that Mykhailo Hrushevskyi regarded the historical figure of Ustym Karmaliuk with caution and did not identify him with the created literary and art and folklore romantic image.
