"And there was no Need to Say Anything …": Silence in the System of Means of Expression of the Author's Position

The article presents the first attempt to systematically examine the status of the phenomenon of silence as one of the most important means of expressing the author's position in the novel "Noble Nest" using the method of slow reading. It analyzes the key scenes of Turgenev's text, and through them identifies the val­ue-based positioning in the system of characters (the opposition between "religious humanism" and "Christian ethics"). The authors of the article show the process of creating perceptibility for the reader of the semantic residue by Turgenev in the picture of the directly depicted and spoken. This is designed to mark the transition of the characters beyond the boundaries of the concrete historical background through the nature of the word of art. In this way Turgenev created his own version of the "higher reality" in the "Noble Nest" and, accordingly, the field of cultural dialogue with the works of his great contemporaries-realists.В статье впервые системно рассматривается статус феномена безмолвия как одного из важнейших средств выражения авторской позиции в романе "Дворянское гнездо" с применением методики медленного чтения

Экологическое просвещение в библиотеках

In the latter 50—30 years of the 20th century the excessive load on the environment became obvious, and through the efforts of many natural scientists the young independent discipline of ecology came into being and became popular research and discussion vector in economics, sociology, and politics. For today, the international library community has accumulated solid and diverse experience related to ecology and sustainable development. However, these efforts are insufficiently presented in Russian professional publications. The role of libraries in building ecological outlook has become more evident in the circumstances of ecological crisis and intensifying focus on the problem. The libraries’ efforts reflect the global trends and approaches taken by scientists and researchers, politicians, industrial and agricultural producers, educationalists and cultural figures, and the wide public as ecological information users. The libraries’ experience and efforts in ecological education and information awareness evidence that educa­ting ecological and information culture has been growing into a new relevant function of the libraries in the modern world.Во второй половине – последней трети XX в. чрезмерная антропогенная нагрузка на окружающую среду стала очевидна. Благодаря усилиям многочисленных ученых-естествоиспытателей молодая наука экология сформировалась как самостоятельная дисциплина и стала популярным направлением для исследований экономистов, социологов, темой для обсуждения в политических кругах. К настоящему времени международное библиотечное сообщество накопило значительный и разнообразный опыт работы в области экологии и устойчивого развития, который, к сожалению, мало отражается в российской профессиональной прессе. С появлением признаков экологического кризиса и ростом внимания к этой проблеме со стороны ученых и широкой общественности роль библиотек в формировании экологического мировоззрения стала наиболее заметна. Деятельность библиотек в этом направлении отражает мировые тенденции и взгляды ученых, политиков, специалистов промышленных и сельскохозяйственных комплексов, деятелей культуры и образования, широких слоев общественности, т.е. потребителей экологической информации. Опыт, накопленный библиотеками, и их работа по экологическому просвещению и информированию населения позволяют говорить о том, что формирование эколого-информационной культуры населения становится новой, актуальной функцией библиотек в современном мире.

The article is devoted to the problem of social and ontological contexts of imagination. These contexts are seen in the article through the lens provided by the book “Language and death: The place of negativity” by G. Agamben. In the book, mentioned Agamben attempted to destroy the negativity and to open the new path of post-metaphysical thinking of being (human being).
