Conceptual Framework for Information Literacy Education in Japanese Public Libraries

application/pdfThis paper submit a conceptual framework which can withstand constructive discussions on information literacy education in japanese public libraries. The researcher analyzed 13 reviews on information literacy, information literacy education, and library use education. Each concept summarized was organized from two perspectives: How information literacy education implement is distinguished public formal service, public nonformal or informal service, and technical service; and what information literacy education provide is distinguished contents of library use education, information literacy learned in japanese public libraries, and information literacy that is not taught in japanese public libraries. The researcher presented a perspective on what kind of discussion such a conceptual framework might raise.本稿では公共図書館における情報リテラシー教育を巡る建設的な議論に耐える概念的枠組みの提出を目的とし，公共図書館における情報リテラシー・情報リテラシー教育・利用教育を取り上げるレビュー13件を対象に分析を行った。各概念を２つの観点から整理した結果，情報リテラシー教育の教育形態については，直接－フォーマル（集団）－サービス，直接－ノンフォーマル・インフォーマル（個別）－サービス，間接サービスの３つに，教育内容については，利用教育として学ぶ内容，図書館で学ぶべき情報リテラシー，図書館で教わらない情報リテラシーの３つにそれぞれ分割できることを示した。このような枠組みが提起する議論を展望として示した。departmental bulletin pape

About the influence of the information education on information literacy

この研究ノートは情報リテラシーと情報教育について考察したものである。情報機器の重要性が,現代社会において増してきている。しかし情報機器の恩恵をうけるには,それらの機器をある程度使いこなす能力が必要となる。本を読むのに「リテラシー」が必要であるのと同様に,情報社会においては「情報リテラシー」が必要となってくるのである。この情報リテラシーを持つか持たないかにより,「情報格差」とよばれる問題も起こると考えられる。小論ではまず情報リテラシーを定義し,1998年に関西の大学生対象に行った調査結果をもとに,その度合に関わる要因としての情報教育に焦点を当てその影響について考察する。情報リテラシー情報教育情報格差情報倫

Information literacy education as learning support : past practices and future possibilities

情報リテラシーを習得することは，「学び方」を身に付けることと同義であるという観点から，今後の情報リテラシー教育について，先行論文の調査分析と関係者とのディスカッションから得られた知見を基に論考する。これまでの実践を振りかえると，情報リテラシー教育が大学図書館の業務として定着したことは大きな成果であった。しかし，文献検索を中心とした講習会にとどまらず，大学の教育改革に合わせた学習支援としての情報リテラシー教育への転換が必要である。学習理論の理解をはじめ，担当者が意識し，実践するべき9項目について述べる。 Based on knowledge gained through an environmental scan of the literature and discussions with practitioners, the author looks at information literacy education in the past and present from the perspective that gaining information literacy is the same thing asPlearning to learn.WIn looking back at what has been accomplished, it is a major accomplishment that information literacy education has been incorporated into university libraries operations. 情報リテラシー教育を取り入れた初級日本語コースカリキュラムの作成と実践報告

近年，日本語教育では，日本語中・上級レベルにおいて内容重視型カリキュラムや批判的思考力を取り入れた学習活動を採用する動向がみられている。一方で，初級レベルでは，教科書の基本文法，語彙，表現，漢字を学習するという言語習得を重要視した伝統的なカリキュラムが組まれている。ここで，問題になるのが，教科書中心の初級カリキュラムに慣れた学習者が中級レベルに進む際に，教科書外の教材を中心とした内容重視型カリキュラムで求められる自律学習能力に欠けているという現状である。本稿では，情報リテラシーをどのように言語学習活動に応用できるのかを検討し，日本語教師と図書館員の協働作業のもと，日本語教育と情報リテラシー教育を融合させたカリキュラムを作成し，アメリカ私立女子大学の１つであるスミス大学の日本語１年生コースで実践した例を紹介する。初級レベルから情報リテラシーを言語学習能力と共に培うことは，学習者の初級から中級レベルへの移行をスムーズにし，言語・文化・社会情報に関わる内容重視型の学習活動に必要とされる自律学習能力の育成に役に立つのではないかと考える
