Objective to investigate the influence of consumer confidence and the evaluation will result in a partial and simultaneous on consumer attitudes, to determine the effect of normative beliefs and motivations of consumers and simultaneously to partially subjective norms, to determine the effect of consumer attitudes and subjective norms, and simultaneous partial to behaveor interests . The benefits of research to provide inputs for the company in formulating and developing marketing strategies. to contribute to other researchers in the development of the theory of consumer behavior developed by Ajzen and M. Fishbein. Total sample of 142 respondents, the type of data used primary and secondary data and data collection tools and documentation koesioner. Data analysis tools used multiple regression. The results showed consumer confidence coefficient and evaluation will have value positive effect on consumer attitudes, normative beliefs and motivation variables consumers have a positive value on subjective norms, as well as variables in consumer attitudes and subjective norms have positive value to the interest behaveor. Based on t test and F test showed that consumer confidence and the evaluation will have a significant effect partially and simultaneously on consumer attitudes, normative belief and motivation of consumers having a significant effect on partial and simultaneous subjective norms, consumer attitudes and subjective norms have an influence significant and simultaneous partial to behave interest to buy a motorcycle Yamaha Vixion

AN EXPLANATION OF THE CHANGE IN ACCOUNTANTS’ ATTITUDE TOWARDS FLEXIBILITY USING THE THEORY OF REASONED ACTION

In this paper we look at accountants as “consumers of accounting regulations”. We explain the change in the accountants’ attitude towards flexibility in the accounting regulation process, using a theory derived from social psychology: the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). In 1999 and 2005 we tested the attitude towards flexibility of a number of Romanian accountants who aimed at becoming private practitioners. We observed that before the existence of an accounting conceptual framework (1999), the accountants surveyed preferred flexibility with respect to accounting choices. A few years later (2005), after the implementation of IASB’s conceptual framework (but before the regulator removed it), the preference of accountants changed to flexibility. We believe that these changes could be explained using TRA.Romanian accounting regulation, Theory of Reasoned Action, accountants’ attitude, uniformity, flexibility

Individual Control of Risk: Seat Belt Use, Subjective Norms and the Theory of Reasoned Action

    Get PDF
When faced with a risk for which an inexpensive solution is available, individuals often choose the risk rather than the solution. Protection from certain kinds of risks, e.g., using seat belts or condoms or insulating against radon, is largely under personal control, but individuals often choose not to comply with behaviors which would reduce the risk. The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) has been used to predict when individuals will comply. The authors attempted to validate aspects of the TRA by the use of scenarios. Factor analysis of their data supports the theory that intention is a major determinate of behavior but fails to establish the influence of scenarios on subjects\u27 intention to wear seat belts

Examining and Predicting College Students\u27 Reading Intentions and Behaviors: An Application of the Theory of Reasoned Action

    Get PDF
This study examined the recreational reading attitudes, intentions, and behaviors of college students. The theory of reasoned action provided the framework for the investigation and prediction of the students\u27 intentions and behaviors. Two hundred and one students completed questionnaires developed according to the guidelines for the construction of standard theory of reasoned action questionnaires. The instrument assessed students\u27 attitudes, outcome beliefs, subjective norms, and normative beliefs, as well as intentions and behaviors regarding recreational reading. The constructs of the theory explained 35-38 percent of the variance in students\u27 intentions. Attitudes toward recreational reading provided the strongest and most significant contributions

This study has been done to examine the relationship between attitude and subjective norms and zakah compliance intention among owners’ of mutual funds in Saudi Arabia by using the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). One hundred and seventy three (173) completed questionnaires were returned that measured respondents' attitude (ATT) towards zakah on mutual funds, subjective norm (SN) about zakah on mutual funds, and intention (ITT) to pay zakah on mutual funds. The findings of the study show that attitude (ATT) and subjective norm (SN) significantly influence zakah compliance among owners’ of mutual funds. In general, the study proved that the theory of reasoned action is applicable in zakah are

Determinants of behavioral intention of fraudulent financial reporting: using the theory of reasoned action / Siti Noor Hayati Mohamed Zawawi, Kamil Md. Idris and Rashidah Abdul Rahman.

The main aim of this study was to identify factors that determined the behavioral intention of fraudulent financial reporting. Since fraudulent financial reporting involves unacceptable human behavior, the social psychology theory of reasoned action was used to identify the behavioral factors that could explain this behavior. Using the structural equation modeling, the results indicate that the attitude toward behavior and the subjective norm significantly influenced the behavioral intention of fraudulent financial reporting. However, the subjective norm was a more important predictor than the attitude toward behavior. Overall, the results show that the theory of reasoned action was successful in explaining the fraudulent financial reporting behavior

Copyright @ 2013 Elsevier B.V.This study aimed to identify factors that influence user attitudes towards mobile recommender systems and to examine how these factors interact with cultural values to affect attitudes towards this technology. Based on the theory of reasoned action, belief factors for mobile recommender systems are identified in three dimensions: functional, contextual, and social. Hypotheses explaining different impacts of cultural values on the factors affecting attitudes were also proposed. The research model was tested based on data collected in China, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Findings indicate that functional and social factors have significant impacts on user attitudes towards mobile recommender systems. The relationships between belief factors and attitudes are moderated by two cultural values: collectivism and uncertainty avoidance. The theoretical and practical implications of applying theory of reasoned action and innovation diffusion theory to explain the adoption of new technologies in societies with different cultures are also discussed.National Research Foundation of Korea Grant funded by the Korean governmen

This study examines the ability and application of the theory of reasoned action TRA in explaining the use of banking system in Yemen. It investigates the impact of two theoretical variables attitude and subjective norms, using a sample consists of university students, on individuals' intention to use banking services. The results of the study revealed a strong predictive power of the theory of reasoned action model to explain university students' behavioural intention to use banking services. Statistically, the finding demonstrated that there are significant and positive relationships between students' attitude, subjective norm as predictor variables on the criterion variable of behavioural intention to use banking services in the context of Yemen. This study adds to the literature by showing non-financial variables such as attitude and subjective norm, which are important in understanding the behavioural intentions toward using banking services. It also provides some theoretical and practical implication. This study is one of the few studies that used theory of reasoned action in the context of Yemen. Furthermore, it has proven its effectiveness in predicting the behavioural intention of students towards using banking services. In addition, the finding will help to design strategies to attract more customers to use the banking system
