Health informatics domain knowledge analysis: An information technology perspective

    Get PDF
Health Informatics is an intersection of information technology, several disciplines of medicine and health care. It sits at the common frontiers of health care services including patient centric, processes driven and procedural centric care. From the information technology perspective it can be viewed as computer application in medical and/or health processes for delivering better health care solutions. In spite of the exaggerated hype, this field is having a major impact in health care solutions, in particular health care deliveries, decision making, medical devices and allied health care industries. It also affords enormous research opportunities for new methodological development. Despite the obvious connections between Medical Informatics, Nursing Informatics and Health Informatics, most of the methodologies and approaches used in Health Informatics have so far originated from health system management, care aspects and medical diagnostic. This paper explores reasoning for domain knowledge analysis that would establish Health Informatics as a domain and recognised as an intellectual discipline in its own right

LANDSAT-4 Thematic Mapper (TM) data performance and utility characteristics from an energy research and technology perspective is evaluated. The program focuses on evaluating applicational implications of using such data, in combination with other digital data, for current and future energy research and technology activities. Prime interest is in using TM data for siting, developing and operating federal energy facilities. Secondary interests involve the use of such data for resource exploration, environmental monitoring and basic scientific initiatives such as in support of the Continental Scientific Drilling Program

XYZ Bank provides several digital banking services for various segments, including the D-Bank mobile banking application, XYZ Online Banking, D-Card Mobile for credit card management, D-Financial for SMEs, D-BisMart. for the supply chain, as well as XYZ Trade Connect and Cash Connect for various customer businesses. It is known that 1) IT risk on the D-Bank application is still high. This can be seen from the number of risk events for IT system failure in its application. 2) The handling of IT problems is still not optimal, this can be seen from customer complaints that often reappear in the D-Bank application, such as failed logins, failed transactions and slow performance. 3) Lack of handling of IT Security services. This can be seen from the number of cyber-attacks that have successfully entered the D-Bank application. The final result shows that there are several domains and principles that need to be considered by management in order to improve the performance of information technolog

Reading the Ideology of Salafi Da'wah: Media Technology Perspective

    Get PDF
Salafi expand da'wah using various media technologies. The use of various media as a means of Salafi da'wah shows that Salafis accept the presence of media technology well and use it to build an ideological da'wah movement. The discourse in this study was completed by qualitative research using a literature study approach, data analysis techniques using flow techniques with data reduction, data display, and formulating conclusions with data analysis. This study concludes that da'wah using media technology causes ideological conflicts with external parties, especially with traditional da'wah groups (eg Nahdlatul Ulama/ NU). The Salafi da'wah ideology can be accepted by the wider community because it uses new media as a place of work. New media for salafis is not only a place of preaching work but also a place to fight for their ideological authority. Salafi constructs ideological constructions through various digital images. The construction of Salafi ideology in digital images actually illustrates that the ideology of Salafi da'wah is not monolithic

Application of Modern Technology: Perspective of Country Tourism Office

Social media are considered as one of the most significant data source of modern times. Among numerous industries affected by social media impact, tourism emerges as one of the key sectors where social media are progressively relevant. It has the impact on both destinations and enterprises. Data analytic systems help us to make smarter, data-driven decisions. Now that smartphones are broadly used, analytics systems are developed as mobile applications. The main objective of this paper is to examine the increasing role of the social media data analytics in tourism by presenting the case study on country tourism offices of Slovenia and Croatia. Both descriptive statistics and content analysis were used in order to explore, interpret and compare insights from social media provided by data analytics mobile application. Assorted practical implications have revealed from the study report, such as suggestions for content and the time and day of publishing in order to get higher engagement. Furthermore, no one, to the best of our knowledge, conducted similar research, so the paper contributes to the theoretical development of the field as well. Abstract The goal of the paper is the proposition of an enabling technology for the control and optimization of cyber-physical production systems, oriented to the lightweight implementation of performance metrics methodology in a network of distributed devices. The database-centric perspective, applied to distributed devices, supports the adoption of well-known key performance metrics for viable lightweight control policies and optimization of complex scenarios in the factory of the future. An experiment of the technique on a real case data set is presented and analyzed
