Web Portal for Network Traffic Reporting

Cílem této práce je navrhnout a realizovat systém pro přehledné zobrazení reportů o síťovém provozu. Je zde popsán proces návrhu a implementace systému. Práce také představuje dostupné technologie monitorování počítačových sítí, především technologii NetFlow.The aim of this work is to design and implement system for a simple presentation of reports about network traffic. There is described the design and implementation of the system. Work is also represents available technology of monitoring computer networks and especially technology NetFlow.

System for Management Data Acquisition at Campus Network

Práce se zabývá sběrem dat z aktivních prvků počítačové sítě a ukládáním a zobrazováním získaných údajů. Popisuje protokol SNMP, analyzuje a porovnává dostupné nástroje pro monitorování síťových zařízení. Popisuje návrh vlastního systému monitorování počítačové sítě a jeho nasazení v prostředí počítačové sítě VUT v Brně.This work deals with data capturing from the active network elements and storing and displaying the captured data. It describes the SNMP, analyzes and compares available tools for monitoring computer networks. It describes the design of own system for monitoring computer networks and deployment in computer network in the BUT campus.

Computer networks analysis with Cacti

In this thesis, we have identified techniques and approaches that are most commonly encountered in network management systems. We have described availability and performance monitoring techniques. Selection of monitoring technique depends on the complexity of monitored parameters and preliminary established architecture. Network monitoring suggests architecture in which centralized manager collects and analyses data from managed devices. Managed devices expose their network statistics through objects defined within the Management Information Base. Simple Network Management Protocol allowing the manager to communicate with the managed hosts. Afterwards we analyse network monitoring and graphing tool Cacti. Cacti allows a manager to poll managed devices and graph the gathered data. In the last part we cover the details of establishing network management system in which we monitor local and remote network resources. Cacti has emerged as adaptable tool for monitoring computer networks

TAT: traffic analysis tool for the statistical study of IP networks

In this paper, we present a new software package, TAT, that allows the statistical study of the IP traflc transmitted trough an Internet node. This tool has been successfully tested under a work cam'ed out in a subnet of the regional network of Murcia (Spain) called Ciez@net. Cieza is a village of 30,000 people where the pilot network Ciez@net intends to bring these people the opportunity to use the new emerging Internet applications in their daily life. The goal of the traffic analysis tool developed in this project has been to analyse the IP trafic transmitted in the regional network in order to figure out if the economic effort done during the network deployment and operation was worth enough regarding the use that people do of the network services and infrastructure.
