    Centurions and Chieftains : tank sales and British policy towards Israel in the aftermath of the Six Day War

    Britain's attempt to distance itself from Israel as London sought to conciliate the Arab world in the aftermath of the Six-Day War has entered the historiography of Anglo-Israeli relations. A neglected aspect of the development of British policy towards Israel has been the intense debates among British decision-makers regarding the supply of tanks to Israel following the 1967 conflict. British reluctance to export the powerful Chieftain tank to Israel stemmed not only from an unwillingness to fuel an arms race in the Middle East, but also from a determination to protect ongoing and extensive British economic interests in the Arab world, especially oil supplies. In keeping with efforts to dissociate itself from Israel, Britain also sought to downplay, and even conceal from the Arab world, ongoing sales of the less sophisticated Centurion tank to Israel. In many ways, British policy towards Israel culminated in the decision during the 1973 Yom Kippur War to maintain an arms embargo to the region which, while not extending to all Arab countries, hit Israel especially hard as it desperately sought ammunition and spares for its Centurion tanks

    This study aims to analyze Morocco's interests in normalizing relations with Israel through the Joint Declaration.This declaration is an effort to normalize diplomatic relations carried out by Morocco and Israel. This study uses a qualitative approach by collecting secondary data from various sources from literature studies and online network systems. In this study, the authors use the Theory of Realism initiated by Robert Jackson and Georg Sorensen and using the concept of national interest from H. Morgenthau. The results of the research show that there is a national interest that Morocco is trying to achieve in normalizing relations with Israel through a joint declaration that will be implemented in 2020. According to Morgenthau, national interests consist of three aspects, namely physical identity interests, political interests to cultural interests. In line with this, Morocco normalized with Israel because of physical identity interests, namely the desire to maintain integrity and power in the Western Sahara region, political interests, namely to gain support and additional strength from Israel and Western groups, as well as cultural interests, as the heyday of the former Moroccan Kingdom. are in the same government as Western Sahara. Therefore, from the normalization of diplomatic relations, Morocco will gain recognition in terms of controlling Western Sahara and obtaining political support from Israel and the United States, as well as other benefits

    Characteristics of stress-induced defects under positive bias in high-k/InGaAs stacks

    The introduction of InGaAs as a channel material for complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technology presents major challenges in terms of the characterization of the various defects that affect the performance and reliability. Understanding the generation of defects by constant voltage stresses is crucial in terms of their concentration profiles and energy levels. In particular, we want to understand the real nature of the defects responsible for the dispersion of C-V in strong accumulation. Here, we show that the degradation under positive bias of metal/Al2O3/n-InGaAs capacitors reveals two contributions depending on the temperature that affects the C-V curves in a different way. Based on features of stressed C-V curves, it is possible to estimate the onset point of the distribution of border traps near the midgap condition.     Degradation characteristics of metal/Al2O3/n-InGaAs capacitors

    Implementation of new materials in Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor stacks requires capabilities to predict long-time degradation as well as the impact of process changes on degradation processes. In this work, the degradation under constant voltage stress of metal gate/Al2O3/InGaAs stacks is studied for different pre-dielectric deposition treatments. The results show that the degradation, particularly under negative bias, is strongly affected by the oxide-semiconductor surface treatment of the samples. Two contributions (interface states and bulk traps) dominate depending on the stress conditions. Surface treatment with NH4OH shows a better quality of the interface in term of interface states; however, it contributes to generation of positive charge on the dielectric layer.Fil: Palumbo, FĂ©lix Roberto Mario.
