Along with technological developments in the payment system, the role of cash as a means of payment began to be replaced by a more efficient and economical form of non-cash payment such as electronic money. However, the use of electronic money in Indonesia has not increased and the percentage of users of it is far behind compared with other countries. This study aims to apply the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) with Locus of Control (LOC) as a moderating variable in the context of the use of electronic money. The community of DIY consisted of 1 municipality and 4 districts were selected as the sample of this study. The results of this study indicate in general that the variable attitude to behavior as well as control of perceptive behavior have a positive effect on the intention of using electronic money while subjective norms are not proven to significantly affect the intention. However, especially for the respondents who live in the village, the subjective norm variable actually affects the intention of using the electronic money, while the variable control of perceptive behavior has no effect on the intention. Locus of Control (LOC) is not proven to moderate the existing variables in the Theory of Planned Behavior with the intention of using electronic money.JEL Classification: D91; O33; P25DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jkdp.v22i2.169

© Emerald Group Publishing Limited. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to investigate the behavioral intentions of business-to-business (B2B) sales managers to use mobile customer relationship management (CRM) systems in the course of their day-to-day activities. Design/methodology/approach - An extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of mobile CRM system adoption is developed and tested with data from 105 international sales managers representing five B2B companies. Findings - The study extends the TAM framework with three additional constructs derived from mobile technology and sales force automation literature, namely personal innovativeness in the domain of IT, perceived risk, and perceived reachability. The model demonstrates that personal innovativeness and perceived reachability have significant effects on the TAM framework. Research limitations/implications - The relatively small sample size limits the generalization of the results. Practical implications - Sales managers' intention to adopt mobile CRM can be explained by the extended TAM framework. Understanding the key factors that influence intention to adopt a mobile CRM system will aid companies in implementing it among their sales force. Companies willing to foster adoption of a mobile CRM system among the sales force could focus on communicating the usefulness of using the system and benefits gained from enhanced reachability. Recruiting sales people with strong personal innovativeness is beneficial. Originality/value - This study responds the calls for studies on mobile platforms and on the use of mobile B2B applications in sales force management. It is among the first attempts to incorporate variables derived from mobile technology acceptance literature among the sales force into the TAM framework, to better explain acceptance of mobile CRM systems

More than 1.8 billion people use WhatsApp nowadays, out of which 70% uses it daily. In this scenario, this study seeks modeling the variables that positively influence the intention to use WhatsApp. To this end, 579 surveys based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology are conducted. The descriptive results show that individuals use WhatsApp mainly motivated by leisure. In this sense, according to the structural equation model, the variable with the greatest influence on behavioral intention is hedonic motivation, followed by social influence, performance expectancy, and effort expectancy. These results indicate that most people use WhatsApp principally because they find it fun, enjoyable, and very entertaining, something more inherent to an entertainment application than to a messaging application. Nevertheless, a cluster analysis indicates the existence of two consumer segments: one showing a certain indifference and disagreement regarding the usefulness of WhatsApp for their activities and duties and the other manifesting that it uses WhatsApp not only for leisure but also for work, academic, and informative reasons. These differences in consumer drivers might have a great impact on WhatsApp and its competition marketing strategies

Mass transportation modes in Jakarta and surrounding areas (JABODETABEK) are growing. One of the most used public transportation in JABODETABEK for daily basis is electric railway (KRL) to avoid traffic in the city. Along with increased the number of KRL passengers, PT KCI improve facilities of KRL. Since August 2014, Bank Indonesia is eager to campaign National Movement of Non-Cash (GNNT) in the whole territory of Indonesia, therefore KCJ also provide e -ticketing eager to support government program (GNNT) which is KMT. The objective of this research is to analyze factors inside modified UTAUT 2 model that influence the users on using KMT as e-ticketing on KRL JABODETABEK and to analyzed age and gender affecting the influence inside UTAUT 2 model in the context of using KMT. This research using modified UTAUT 2 as research framework. Dependent variable is Continuance Intention and independent consist of 7 variables which are Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Habit, Social Influence, Hedonic Motivation, Facilitating Condition, and Price Value. This research consist of 21 hypothesis. This research used data from 400 respondents who have been using KMT. The main data resource of this study is by questionnaire, with 29 survey items from 8 constructs. This research has fulfilled the convergent and discriminant validity and has a good reliability as well. To test the hypotheses, this research use Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 as statistic software. The result revealed that there are five factors in the UTAUT2 Model which significantly influence the continuance intention of KMT usage, namely Habit, Hedonic Motivation, Social Influence, Performance Expectancy, and Price Value. In terms of moderating factors, age does not affect any factors and gender only affect Habit. The model can predict moderate the continuance intention of KMT usage since the R² is 70.9%. This model can be used by PT KCI in making decisions to maintain the continuance intention of users towards KMT usage as e-ticketing on KRL JABODETABEK by paying attention to those factors and their indicators. This research has found that the most significant factor from modified UTAUT2 Model that influences the continuance intention of KMT usage is Habit. It means, PT KCI could give socialization about the importance and benefits of KMT can be one of the solution to make people habitual to use the services. further research, Since this modified UTAUT2 Model can be used for predicting the Continuance Intention of KMT usage as e-ticketing on KRL since it has a moderate explanatory power which is 70.9% and categorized as a good model, further research is expected to do a research in the field about e-ticketing or e-money with a different research object. Keywords: KMT, e-ticketing, e-money, Continuance Intention, UTAUT

Determinants of the intention to use performance-enhancing substances among Portuguese gym users

    Get PDF
The present study examined the determinants of the intentions to use prohibited performance- enhancing substances (PES) and the hypothesis of gender and PES use influencing Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) variables. A TPB approach was used. A convenience sample of Portuguese gym users (n = 453) completed an anonymous web-based survey. Variance-based structural equation modeling, multigroup analysis strategy, latent mean analysis approach and one-way ANOVA analysis were used. The findings showed that, at structural level, results support the TPB framework in terms of characterizing and predicting intentions to PES use in the gym users sample, and that subjective norms were the strongest predictor of PES use intentions. Female and male differed in intentions to use PES, subjective norms and beliefs. However, the predictive model in study remains invariable in both groups. Concerning PES use, results showed the existence of a significant difference, regarding all the TPB´s constructs of the PES users and nonusers’ groups, and that the predictive capacity of each predictor was different for each group. Psychological strategies should be based on subjective norms, alongside beliefs and attitudes towards PES use, since these variables influence the intention to use PES in that particular population

The study of consumer behavior towards green products has become a very important research nowadays. Every human being requires a good quality of environment and good health status in order to guarantee a useful life for self and family. The needs for green products in the daily lives of individuals are necessary today. So, a deeper study of the intention to use green products may be a reference to consumers and organizations. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived control behavior with the intention to use. The researcher has distributed a 120 set of questionnaires. Only one set of survey questions unsuccessful return. All 119 of the returned questionnaires could be used for analysis of the study. Among the methods used in this research are independent sample t-test, one- way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regressions. The results showed that all independent variables are significant and seen have influenced intention to use green products among consumers. Among the three independent variables, the attitude is most influenced intention to use green products because it has the highest regression. This means, the higher the positive attitude of consumers towards green products, the higher their intention to use the product. As a result, retailers and marketers should increase consumers‟ desire to use green products by creating an effective marketing strategy. In addition, other parties such as government and non-governmental organizations should also strive to increase positive attitudes of consumers towards green products. The discussion of the implications and suggestions for future research are also described at the end of the study

Congestion is a common problem in big cities, including Jakarta as a capital of Indonesia. Increasing the number of vehicles in Jakarta is not proportional to the growth of roads. This makes the road become inconducive. The use of public transportation is a solution to solve this problem. While public intention in using public transportation is still considered low. Research on the intention of using public transport is still less. Based on this, further research is needed that focuses on the intention to use public transportation. This study explores the intention to use public transport that focus on Transjakarta busway while considering several factors in Jakarta, Indonesia. This study describe intention behavior of Transjakarta potential user, study and explores the relationship between intention to use Transjakarta and other latent factors, including personal norms, social influence, environment impact, and perceived quality. The empirical data were drawn from 190 potential users of Transjakarta in Jabodetabek that still use private vehicle, car or motorbike in daily activity using questionnaire method. Structural equation model (SEM) technique is used to analyze the conceptualized relationship model. The result reveal that personal norms, social influence, and perceived quality significantly affect potential users’ intention behavior. From the empirical result, managerial implications were discussed
