Techno-invasion and job satisfaction in China: The roles of boundary preference for segmentation and marital status
BACKGROUND: While the intensive work-related use of information and communication technologies after working hours have led to increased techno-invasion, much less is known regarding whether and for whom techno-invasion influences job satisfaction. OBJECTIVE: Drawing on the conservation of resources theory and person-environment fit theory, this study examined the relationship between techno-invasion and decreased job satisfaction. Specific attention was paid to the moderating effect of boundary preference for segmentation and its joint influence with marital status on this relationship. METHODS: Questionnaire data were collected by an online survey of a nationwide and diverse sample of 472 employees from China. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. RESULTS: We found that techno-invasion negatively correlated with job satisfaction, which was strengthened by boundary preference for segmentation. Furthermore, the results of a three-way interaction effect suggested that the moderating role of boundary preference for segmentation on the relationship between techno-invasion and job satisfaction is stronger for unmarried employees than it is for married ones. CONCLUSIONS: The effect of techno-invasion on employees’ job satisfaction can be strengthened or weakened by their boundary preference for segmentation and marital status
Redetermination at 113 K of 2,2-tetramethylene-1,2-dihydroquinazolin-4(3H)-one
The title compound {systematic name: spiro[cyclopentane-1,2′(1′H)-quinazolin]-4′(3′H)-one]}, C12H14N2O, has been reported previously [Klemm, Weakley, Gilbertson & Song (1998 ▶). J. Heterocycl Chem. 35, 1269–1273]. Its structure has been redetermined at 113 K with greater precision for all data. The molecule is built up from two fused six-membered rings and one five-membered ring linked through a spiro C atom. The pyrimidine ring has an envelope conformation and the cyclopentane ring adopts a distorted boat form. There are intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which form a two-dimensional sheet parallel to the (001) plane
2-Methyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydroquinazolin-4(3H)-one
In the molecule of the title compound, C15H14N2O, the six-membered 1,3-diaza ring assumes an envelope conformation. The two benzene ring planes are almost perpendicular to each other, making a dihedral angle of 85.53 (5)°. Supramolecular aggregation is mainly effected by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonding
Multi-frame image restoration method for novel rotating synthetic aperture imaging system
Abstract The novel rotating synthetic aperture (RSA) optical imaging system is an important development direction for future high-resolution optical remote sensing satellites in geostationary orbit. However, owing to the rotating rectangular pupil, the point spread function of the RSA system has an asymmetric spatial distribution, and the images obtained using the primary mirror from different rotation angles have nonuniform blur degradation. Moreover, platform vibration and pupil rotation have coupling effects on the RSA imaging, resulting in further radiometric and geometric quality degradation. To address these problems, the image degradation characteristics are first analyzed according to the imaging mechanism. Then, combined with the theory of mutual information, an image registration method is suggested by introducing the orientation gradient information. From this, a multi-frame image restoration model is proposed based on the directional gradient prior of the RSA system image. From the perspective of interpretation and application, when the aspect ratio is less than 3, the proposed inversion restoration method can achieve a satisfactory processing performance. This work can provide engineering application reference for the future space application of RSA imaging technology

Gut stem cell aging is driven by mTORC1 via a p38 MAPK-p53 pathway.
Nutrients are absorbed solely by the intestinal villi. Aging of this organ causes malabsorption and associated illnesses, yet its aging mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we show that aging-caused intestinal villus structural and functional decline is regulated by mTORC1, a sensor of nutrients and growth factors, which is highly activated in intestinal stem and progenitor cells in geriatric mice. These aging phenotypes are recapitulated in intestinal stem cell-specific Tsc1 knockout mice. Mechanistically, mTORC1 activation increases protein synthesis of MKK6 and augments activation of the p38 MAPK-p53 pathway, leading to decreases in the number and activity of intestinal stem cells as well as villus size and density. Targeting p38 MAPK or p53 prevents or rescues ISC and villus aging and nutrient absorption defects. These findings reveal that mTORC1 drives aging by augmenting a prominent stress response pathway in gut stem cells and identify p38 MAPK as an anti-aging target downstream of mTORC1
Virtual flows of aquatic heavy metal emissions and associated risk in China
Heavy metal pollution is posing a serious threat to ecosystem and human health in China. In addition to being emitted into the atmosphere, heavy metals generated by industrial processes are also emitted into water bodies. However, there is a lack of research exploring trade-induced aquatic heavy metals (AHM) emissions hidden in cross-regional supply chain networks. Such information can provide both consumer and producer perspectives on stakeholders' responsibility and involve them in pollution control along the entire supply chain including influencing consumption choices. Using a bottom-up AHM emission inventory (including mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), arsenic (As), and lead (Pb)) in 2010, we firstly accounted for production- and consumption-based AHM emissions and their virtual flows between China's 30 provinces. Additionally, we developed an integrated index, i.e. Equal Risk Pollution Load, to measure the risk associated with five AHM based on the corresponding reference dose. We found that richer provinces Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang through their consumption of metal products caused aquatic Hg, Cd, As and Pb pollution in provinces with nonferrous-metallic mineral resources such as Hunan, Yunnan, and Inner Mongolia. However, virtual aquatic Cr emissions were incurred in richer coastal regions (e.g. Guangdong, Zhejiang) for producing and exporting high value added products (electroplated products, printed circuit board and leather products) to less developed inland provinces. Finally, we propose measures from a supply chain perspective to mitigate aquatic pollution
Analysis of the Factors Associated with Negative Conversion of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 RNA of Coronavirus Disease 2019
AIM: To understand the factors associated with negative conversion of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA, targeted surveillance and control measures can be taken to provide scientific basis for the treatment of the disease and to improve the prognosis of the disease.
METHODS: Using the method of retrospective cohort study, we collected the data of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Tongji Hospital of Wuhan, China from 10 January to 25 March, 2020. Among the data of 282 cases, 271 patients, according to whether the negative conversion happened, were divided into negative conversion group and control group. We made the quantitative variables into classification; Chi-square test single-factor and Cox regression were used in univariate analysis and extracted 30 meaningful variables, then through the collinearity diagnosis, excluded the existence of collinear variables. Finally, 22 variables were included in Cox regression analysis.
RESULTS: The gender distribution was statistically significant between two groups (p < 0.05). While in the negative conversion group, the patients of non-severe group occupied a large proportion (p < 0.001). The median time for the negative conversion group was 17 days, and at the end of the observation period, the virus duration in control group was 24 days (p < 0.05). A total of 55 variables were included in univariate analysis, among which 30 variables were statistically different between the two groups. After screening variables through collinearity diagnosis, 22 variables were included in the Cox regression analysis. Last, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), age, fibrinogen (FIB), and disease severity were associated with negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 RNA.
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that in the treatment of COVID-19, focus on the age of more than 65 years old, severe, high level of LDH, FIB patients, and take some targeted treatment, such as controlling of inflammation, reducing organ damage, so as to provide good conditions for virus clearance in the body
Targeting Radioresistant Breast Cancer Cells by Single Agent CHK1 Inhibitor via Enhancing Replication Stress
Radiotherapy (RT) remains a standard therapeutic modality for breast cancer patients. However, intrinsic or acquired resistance limits the efficacy of RT. Here, we demonstrate that CHK1 inhibitor AZD7762 alone significantly inhibited the growth of radioresistant breast cancer cells (RBCC). Given the critical role of ATR/CHK1 signaling in suppressing oncogene-induced replication stress (RS), we hypothesize that CHK1 inhibition leads to the specific killing for RBCC due to its abrogation in the suppression of RS induced by oncogenes. In agreement, the expression of oncogenes c-Myc/CDC25A/c-Src/H-ras/E2F1 and DNA damage response (DDR) proteins ATR/CHK1/BRCA1/CtIP were elevated in RBCC. AZD7762 exposure led to significantly higher levels of RS in RBCC, compared to the parental cells. The mechanisms by which CHK1 inhibition led to specific increase of RS in RBCC were related to the interruptions in the replication fork dynamics and the homologous recombination (HR). In summary, RBCC activate oncogenic pathways and thus depend upon mechanisms controlled by CHK1 signaling to maintain RS under control for survival. Our study provided the first example where upregulating RS by CHK1 inhibitor contributes to the specific killing of RBCC, and highlight the importance of the CHK1 as a potential target for treatment of radioresistant cancer cells
Spatiotemporal Changes of China's Carbon Emissions
Spatiotemporal changes in China's carbon emissions during the 11th and 12th Five‐Year Plan periods are quantified for the first time through a reconstructed nationwide high‐resolution gridded data set. The hot spots of carbon emissions in China have expanded by 28.5% (toward the west) in the north and shrunk by 18.7% in the south; meanwhile, the emission densities in North and South China have increased by 15.7% and 49.9%, respectively. This suggests a clear transition to a more intensive economic growth model in South China as a result of the energy conservation and emission reduction policies, while the expanded carbon hot spots in North China are mainly dominated by the Grand Western Development Program. The results also show that China's carbon emissions exhibit a typical spatially intensive, high‐emission pattern, which has undergone a slight relaxation (up to 3%) from 2007 to 2012 due to a typical urbanization process
