“El último cuplé” (1957): A feminine challenge in the Spanish cinema

Este trabajo pretende estudiar la película El último cuplé (1957, Juan de Orduña). Éxito de taquilla que recuperó el erotismo en la cinematografía nacional. Tras la fortuna de un programa de radio sobre cuplés, Orduña, que anteriormente había dirigido obras propagandísticas del Régimen, decide rodar esta personal historia sobre una cantante del “género ínfimo”. El film se inscribe en el tímido aperturismo del primer franquismo, pero es anterior a la modernización de los sesenta. Aunque generalmente se considera moralista, pensamos que desafía el ideal femenino y la censura franquistas. La protagonista es una mujer fuerte, con trabajo, soltera, que mantiene relaciones sentimentales fuera de su clase y con hombres mayores y menores, bebe, juega y cuyo comportamiento es abiertamente seductor. Su ropa y maquillaje retan el pudor convencional atribuido a las señoras y las canciones que interpreta inciden en su sensualidad. Fuertemente censurada, es, sin embargo, un exponente de los límites que en la dictadura algunas mujeres traspasaron y de los vientos de cambio que se intuían, al menos, en los gustos del público. After the fortune earned with a radio program on cuplés, Orduña, who had previously directed propagandistic works for the Regime, decided to shoot this personal story about a cuplé singer. The film is part of the timid opening of the first Francoism, but it predates the modernization of the sixties. Although generally considered moralistic, we believe that it defies the feminine ideal and the Francoist censorship. The main character is a strong and single working woman, who has romantic relationships outside her social class with both older and younger men. She drinks and gambles, and her behavior is openly seductive. Her clothes and makeup challenge the conventional modesty attributed to the ladies and the songs she interprets increase her sensuality. Strongly censured, it is nevertheless an example of the limits that some women crossed during the dictatorship and of the winds of change that were beginning to blow, at least in the public taste. Prensa de moda para hombres en España: intereses de clase y tendencias en "La guía del peluquero" (1873-1880)

El objetivo es investigar sobre las primeras publicaciones especializadas en moda en España y, en concreto, acerca de la Guía del peluquero (1873-1880). Esta cabecera es interesante porque es de las pocas que trataban temas de moda para el público masculino, aunque el tema predominante era la moda femenina, especialmente en peinados. Así recoge un valioso testimonio sobre las costumbres de la España de finales del XIX, para ambos sexos. Además, representa una excepción dentro de la prensa de moda porque pretendía ser un medio de defensa de los intereses de la clase obrera y también un vehículo educativo, de la profesión y del mundo. Se trata, pues, de un órgano proto sindical, en sintonía con el movimiento obrero del momento. Su existencia nos habla de un acercamiento de la prensa a los trabajadores y, por tanto, de la mayor alfabetización, capacidad de consumo y desarrollo. Su larga vida prueba su trascendencia. Para su estudio hemos utilizado la Ficha hemerográfica diseñada por Celso Almuiña.This article studies one of the first specialized publications in fashion in Spain: the Guía del peluquero (1873-1880). This magazine is interesting because it is one of the few that dealt with topics of fashion for the male audience, although it also included content for women. It reveals the uses and customs of the Spanish people at the end of the XIX century, for both sexes. In addition, it represents an exception in the fashion press because it defends the interests of the working class and also it was an educational vehicle. It is, therefore, a proto-union organ, in tune with the labour movement. The existence of the magazine reflects the approach to the workers in Spain and the rise of the life level. Acompañamiento de la ciencia colombiana a las políticas públicas

Este artículo analiza el acompañamiento que la investigación científica promovida por COLCIENCIAS ha realizado a las políticas públicas en Colombia, en especial las referidas al bienestar social. A través de un doble análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo, se evalúa la distribución y la cobertura temática de algunas de las investigaciones realizadas entre 1990 y 2002, en los diversos tópicos asociados con las políticas públicas sociales. Aquí se propone un esquema básico para identificar los principales tópicos de desarrollo social alrededor de los cuales el Estado y los gobiernos nacionales proponen y aplican políticas públicas para el bienestar social. Posteriormente, se hace una clasificación de los proyectos en cada uno de los ejes temáticos, midiendo la distribución y la cobertura de las investigaciones sobre estos ejes. Guía de gestión educativa para nivel inicial

This product has as purpose to present a potentially useful monitoring tool, for the daily actions of the educational director, particularly focused on the initial level. Such interest is born after the deficient results obtained in tests effected to the country, at both the national (SER) and international levels (SERCE), including the results presented in National report of educational progress of Ecuador, published in 2006. Here we can see the imperative need of drastic changes in education. Beyond resources and physical structures, change is inherent in the "head" of the educational system of Ecuador, that is to say, in the way such as have been managed educational processes, without becoming absorbed in the department of education of Ecuador, because outside of the transformations made in this organism and taking as a starting point the decentralization, the change must be effected from the internal management of every educational center.Este producto tiene como propósito presentar una herramienta de acompañamiento potencialmente útil, para el diario accionar del director/a educativo, enfocado de manera particular al nivel inicial. College Students in Lima: Politics, Media and Participation

En el Perú, los jóvenes universitarios son protagonistas de movilizaciones de protesta social aun cuando es escasa su pertenencia a organizaciones políticas. Esta investigación tiene como objetivos analizar la percepción que tienen los jóvenes universitarios limeños sobre la política y sus instituciones e indagar acerca de su interés por los sucesos relevantes de su entorno y la importancia que adquieren los medios de comunicación y las redes digitales para su información. El trabajo también se propuso examinar el rol que los universitarios le asignan a la universidad como espacio de formación y reflexión. El estudio se realiza en Lima, Perú, con jóvenes de 17 a 25 años, de universidades públicas y privadas. Las opiniones se recogen en seis grupos focales y una encuesta aplicada a más de 400 estudiantes. El análisis concluye que los universitarios desconfían profundamente de los partidos políticos y las organizaciones políticas formales; asimismo, se evidencia que gozan de amplio acceso a fuentes de información y están dispuestos a contribuir a la solución de los problemas que aquejan a su país. El estudio desvela diferencias marcadas entre estudiantes de universidades públicas y privadas en su disposición para participar en actividades políticas, dentro y fuera del ámbito universitario. La investigación propone que la universidad ofrezca a los jóvenes oportunidades para el debate de los asuntos públicos de interés nacional y global en su formación integraIn Peru, young college students have leading roles in social protest mobilizations even when they seldom belong to political organizations. This study aims to analyze the perception of current politics and its institutions among young college students, and to inquire into their interest on relevant events at their surroundings and into the importance gained by the media and the social networks concerning their information. The purpose of this project is also to examine the role assigned by college students to the university as a space of personal development and reflection. This project was carried out in Lima, Peru, directed to youngsters aged 17 to 25 from public and private universities. Opinions have been collected through six focus-groups and a survey applied to more than 400 students. The analysis concludes that college students distrust profoundly political parties and formal political organizations; likewise it shows they have a broad access to information sources, so as their willingness to solve Peru’s problematic issues. It also uncovers clear differences between students of private and public universities regarding attitudes for participating in political action, inside and outside the campus. From the study stems a proposal to provide young students at their campuses with opportunities to debate public issues of national and global interest as a part of their overall academic trainin
