Skills education in the knowledge society

This paper is carried out under the method of documentary research and its objective is to analyze the approach to education by competencies, under the new demands of the knowledge society. To achieve this end, the work is structured as follows: 1. It indicates the historical context in which the proposal arises. 2. Presents the theoretical foundation, which highlights the novelty and intention to respond to the demands of global society (Aldana, 2005), as well as the complex task of executing various actions to solve daily and work problems (Tobón, 2006) ). 3. Indicates the importance of adapting to the demands of the knowledge society proposed by UNESCO (2005). 4. Shows the main criticisms of the model, in which the excessive economic focus (Sánchez Parga, 2011) and the foundation in a commercial ethics (Sánchez, 2011) are distinguished. It concludes on the need to maintain a holistic approach in educational processes, without losing sight of the complexity of the human being.El presente artículo se realiza bajo el método de investigación documental y tiene por objetivo analizar el enfoque de la educación por competencias, bajo las nuevas exigencias de la sociedad del conocimiento. Para lograr tal fin, el trabajo se estructura de la siguiente manera: 1. Señala el contexto histórico en el que surge la propuesta. 2. Presenta la su fundamentación teórica, donde destaca la novedad e intención de responder a las demandas de la sociedad global (Aldana, 2005), así como la compleja tarea de ejecutar diversas acciones para la resolución de problemas cotidianos y laborales (Tobón, 2006). 3. Indica la importancia de adecuarse a las demandas de la sociedad del conocimiento propuesta por la UNESCO (2005). 4. Muestra las principales críticas al modelo, en el cual se distinguen el excesivo enfoque economicista (Sánchez Parga, 2011) y la fundamentación en una ética mercantil (Sánchez, 2011). Se concluye en la necesidad de mantener un enfoque holístico en los procesos educativos, sin perder de vista la complejidad del ser humano

Effects of the production of goods and services on latin american natural ecosystems

The following research has the purpose of analyzing the impact of the practices of production of goods and services on Latin American natural ecosystems. Thus, to denounce the exploitation techniques that involve the degradation of the resources that allow life. At the same time, we promote the production of merchandise together with operations of low impact and environmental recovery. In the Latin American case, we note the ecological damage that occurs when the State’s surveillance function is deregulated by allowing the predatory use of the environment. Thus, exercising environmental control goes through the political exercise of the communities. We identify assets that serve to diagnose the condition of the various ecological niches based on evaluating the relevance of the production procedures carried out in them. We advocate for the multiplication of technical regulations that favor life in conditions of dignity. It is a bibliographic investigation from the rationalist-deductive approach.La siguiente investigación tiene el propósito de analizar el impacto de las prácticas de producción de bienes y servicios sobre los ecosistemas naturales latinoamericanos. Así, denunciar las técnicas de explotación que involucran la degradación de los recursos que permiten la vida. A su vez, impulsamos la producción de mercancías junto con operaciones de bajo impacto y recuperación ambiental. En el caso latinoamericano advertimos las lesiones ecológicas que acontecen cuando se desregula la función de vigilancia del Estado al permitir la empleo depredador del medio ambiente. Así, ejercer control ambiental pasa por el ejercicio político de las comunidades. Identificamos haberes que sirven para diagnosticar la condición de los diversos nichos ecológicos en función de evaluar la pertinencia de los procedimientos productivos en ellas efectuados. Abogamos por la multiplicación de ordenamientos técnicos que favorezcan la vida en condiciones de dignidad. Es una investigación bibliográfica desde el enfoque racionalista-deductivo

Knowledge transfer and the challenges of engineering training in the face of globalization.

La transferencia de conocimiento es una máxima en la sociedad contemporánea. Ante este fenómeno, impulsado por la globalización neoliberal, se le impone a las instituciones de educación universitaria cambios radicales que apuntan a adecuar los planes de estudio a los requerimientos de la aldea global. La formación de ingenieros no puede situarse al margen de estas perspectivas curriculares, pero ha de imponer una visión humanista al quehacer científico y tecnológico. El presente trabajo se inscribe en la ruta de fortalecer la ética y la crítica en la formación de ingenieros.Knowledge transfer is a maximum in contemporary society. Didactic transposition: Strategy for the development of competences in the academic training of the engineer

The purpose of the research is to present the applicability of the theoretical fundamentals of didactic transposition in the development of competences in engineering careers, based on the original ideas and the didactic potential of Vernet (1975), Chevallard and Joshua (1982), yChevallard (1978, 1994). The methodology used is based on the documentary perspective, seeking the synthesis of the theoretical postulates of the didactic method supported by the rationalist epistemological current. The method of didactic transposition, on the one hand, highlights three asynchronous moments: the wise knowledge, the knowledge to teach and then the knowledge taught, these are linked from two important points, first, the problem of recognition of a scholarly content teaching, and the second, instance where it can undergo transformation and is adapted to be taught. These conditions recreate an exceptional interest in engineering to use it ideal scientific knowledge to transform it into knowledge that develops skills in the individual in training.El objeto de la investigación es presentar la aplicabilidad de los fundamentos teóricos de la transposición didáctica en el desarrollo de competencias en las carreras de ingeniería, sustentado en las ideas primigenias y el potencial didáctico de Vernet (1975), Chevallard y Joshua (1982), y Chevallard (1978,1994). La metodología empleada está basada en la perspectiva documental, procurando la síntesis de los postulados teóricos del método didáctico soportada en la corriente epistemológica racionalista. El método de transposición didáctica, por una parte, pone en evidencia tres momentos asincrónicos: el saber sabio, el saber a enseñar y luego el saber enseñado, estos, se vinculan desde dos puntos importantes, primero, el problema de reconocimiento de un contenido erudito de enseñanza, y el segundo, instancia donde éste puede sufrir transformación y es adaptado para poder ser enseñado. Estas condiciones recrean un interés excepcional en la ingeniería por utilizar ésta conocimientos científicos ideales para transformarlos en saberes que desarrollan competencias en el individuo en formación

Design and construction of tank-chassis and lifting structure for centrifugal pump HL260 M powered by a Diesel Engine

This article deals with the design, simulation and construction of a fuel storage tank-chassis and a lifting system coupled as a single unit to a Cummins QSK19 engine driven HL260m pump that can guarantee an operating autonomy of up to 12 continuous hours and can be transported to different locations by means of lifting systems. For the mechanical design the recommendations of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the application of the failure criteria for Von Mises ductile materials or Maximum Energy Distortion were used. For the dimensioning of the storage tank, the average consumption stipulated by the manufacturer was used and the simulations were performed with SolidWorks®. A functional and safe system that can be used in on-site applications was achieved

Popular engineering: a contribution to resilience for sustainability in the colombian caribbean coast

La ingeniería popular o vernácula, es considerada un método de construcción que potencialmente puede generar aportes positivos a la crisis ambiental, por tanto, el objetivo de este estudio procura explorar los beneficios de las acciones de este método, para generar resiliencia que contribuya a convertir los espacios urbanos y rurales de la costa caribeña colombiana en territorios sostenibles. Los resultados muestran las interrelaciones existentes entre los constructos de hábitats en base a ingeniería popular, con los sistemas socio ecológicos propios de la región del Caribe colombiano, donde los factores culturales, étnicos y bioclimáticos son de influencia determinante como característica para generar resiliencia en pro de la sostenibilidad. La metodología empleada es la investigación cualitativa-fenomenológica, a partir del análisis de documentos desde un enfoque hermenéutico de los referentes teóricos indizados en la base de datos Scopus-Elsevier, así como investigaciones arbitradas en otras plataformas de almacenamiento de literatura.Popular or vernacular engineering is considered a construction method that can potentially generate positive contributions to the environmental crisis, therefore, the objective of this study seeks to explore the benefits of the actions of this method, to generate resilience that contributes to convert the urban and rural spaces of the Colombian Caribbean coast in sustainable territories. The results show the existing interrelationships between the constructions of habitats based on popular engineering, with the socio-ecological systems typical of the Colombian Caribbean region, where cultural, ethnic and bioclimatic factors are of determining influence as a characteristic to generate resilience in favor of the sustainability. The methodology used is qualitative-phenomenological research, based on the analysis of documents from a hermeneutical approach of the theoretical references indexed in the Scopus-Elsevier database, as well as peer-reviewed research on other literature storage platforms

Pedagogical opportunities of emotional intelligence in higher studies

La investigación busca analizar las oportunidades que brinda la inteligencia emocional como fortaleza de las mejores pedagogías universitarias. Emplea el diálogo como habilidad para la construcción de conocimientos al poner en el espacio intersubjetivo los razonamientos y sensaciones que del mundo se tienen. A su vez, maneja y resuelve los conflictos de la mejor forma posible con la finalidad de crear correctos ambientes educativos, favoreciendo la expresión de la racionalidad crítica como capacidad de conjunto. Se trata de conformar sociedades democráticas al habilitar acertadas competencias comunicativas. Destaca el saber científico no solo como producto intelectual; puesto que la ciencia es también manifestación la dimensión sensitiva. Pues, se parte del principio epistémico que los razonamientos son siempre abstracciones que se realizan a partir del mundo que se siente. La indagación se efectúa desde el enfoque de estudio de caso; pues, caracteriza una situación particular con la intención de inferir saberes generalizables, con alta confiabilidad.The research seeks to analyze the opportunities offered by emotional intelligence as a strength of the best university pedagogies. It uses dialogue as a skill for the construction of knowledge by putting in the intersubjective space the reasoning and sensations that one has of the world. At the same time, it manages and resolves conflicts in the best possible way in order to create correct educational environments, favoring the expression of critical rationality as a collective capacity. It is about shaping democratic societies by enabling successful communication skills. Scientific knowledge stands out not only as an intellectual product; since science is also a manifestation of the sensitive dimension. Well, it starts from the epistemic principle that reasonings are always abstractions that are made from the world that is felt. The inquiry is carried out from the case study approach; Thus, it characterizes a particular situation with the intention of inferring generalizable knowledge, with high reliability
